Pros: Great location, beautiful old building nicely renovated. Lovely hosts, yummy breakfast which we could eat outside in the garden. Comfortable beds, all you need for an overnight stop. Easy to walk into town. Car parking.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Easy to find with prking and 5 mins walk from Auxerre centre.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: breakfast OK room ok vieuw OK for a B§B in town
Cons: the front desk was not always occupied for info bar closes at 8
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Location is great - quite walkable to the city centre. The house is beautiful. Petit déjeuner in the garden was lovely. Nelson the dog who greeted us was very hospitable.
7,5 Good
Pros: Excellent breakfast
Cons: The hotel was let down by the lack of the integral air conditioning system. In its place all the rooms including the breakfast room had individual floor-standing dehumidifier units installed (about the size of a tumble drier) and with a similar large bore flexible tube extracting the air out through the windows. These were noisy to say the least and not conducive to a good night's sleep.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff Location brilliant Outside seating - both comfortable seats and tables for breakfast Swimming pool
Cons: Room was a bit dark Very nice balcony but it was a bit dilapidated Storage for clothes minimal - large wardrobe with two hangers, no drawers or shelves
7,5 Good
Pros: Great location, lovely building and friendly staff.
Cons: The hotel has only been with the current owners for a short time and they are clearly making improvements. It was very hot and the temporary air conditioning unit was very noisy. New air conditioning is being installed.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Superb staff and beautiful room Murat
Cons: Too far out of city centre and no bar after 8 for bedtime night cap
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We have stayed here six times now and the hotel never disappoints. The building is old and very attractive, comfortably and sympathetically renovated. The hosts are friendly and welcoming and the breakfast, sourced with delicious local products, is excellent. There is a heated outdoor swimming pool in the beautiful mature gardens- refreshing after a long drive. Altogether the efforts the owners have made to make this an outstanding place to stay have really paid off.
Overview Reviews
The Hotel Le Maxime, BW Signature Collection is located on the banks of the River Yonne, the Quai de la Marine, formerly known as Quai Bourbon, which start from Tournelle Bridge to Lebeuf Street. The buildings along the wharf were built during the First Empire. This large building served for many years as a salt warehouse, storing salt from the salt flats of the Franche-Comte. It was then bought by Mr. Maxime Forutne who gave the Hotel its name. The hotel is fully air conditioned and has 25 rooms and 1 suite all equipped with a private bathroom with a toilet. The rooms also have a mini-bar, flat-screen television with international channels and complimentary Wi-Fi. Our hotel also features 24 hour room service, an elevator and a private garage. For the convenience of family reunions and business events the hotel features a private room with free Wi-Fi and video projector for up to 30 people. Our hotel also has a bar and a cocktail lounge at your disposal.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Nice room overlooking the river. Spotlessly clean.
Cons: Hotel is about 15 min walk to restaurants. Auxerre itself was disappointing, not very well up kept, but nothing the hotel can do about that!
7,1 Good
Pros: Location is great. Super walkability and nice view.
Cons: Room smelled like very stale cigarette smoke. Shower very unfunctional - head doesn’t point down so you have to shower one-handed using the wand.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Didn't have the breakfast. Room was quiet and had a nice view over the river. Liked the private parking which was only 10 euros per night.
Cons: Had problems with the internet connection. The entrance lobby was sort of shabby looking compared to the rooms, but they seem to be working on the hotel.
10,0 Excellent

Cons: Nothing
6,3 Good

10,0 Excellent
Pros: The Hotel is well located and the staff is very friendly. We had a very pleasent stay ! Thank you !
5,8 Okay
Pros: We asked to be moved to a view of the river which they did. No milk so could not have drink. Shower was difficult to switch on resorted to bath but loose plug did not allow bath to be useable. Next morning reception did not seem to be bothered & did not even apologise. It was towards the end of a week celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary & left us feeling deflated.
Cons: Just look at above comment. Uninterested staff regarding plumbing problem & lack of milk. No restaurant, not even bar snacks!
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Location is good, right by the river. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Coffee machine in the room! And an excellent breakfast.

Sylvie Ramisse, head of The Originals Boutique, Hotel Normandie, Auxerre wanted her hotel to keep its family character. Ideally situated for several hiking trails, this hostel is situated in Auxerre in the heart of the Burgundy region. It offers free Wi-Fi access and a library with local maps and guide books. The heated guest rooms at La Maison des Randonneurs have views of the garden. A private bathroom with shower is provided in each room. Guests also have access to a communal kitchen. Auxerre Train Station is 1.6 km from the hostel. The A6 motorway is 8 km away.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: It has a very flexible arrangement for checking in, which suited my situation quite well. I arrived to Auxerre too late to catch a connecting train so I just needed a place to stay. Very pleasant and functional house.
Cons: There are no hand washing basins - to brush my teeth I had to take a shower.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: very clean,cozy,silent room.nice people.
Cons: no outside key for the room. two bunk beds are little small,I'm not tall ( 171cm in hight) but my head hit on bottom of upper bed every time I woke up.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The Hostel building was typically French and beautiful. It was spacious and clean and quiet.
Cons: The location is great for stopping over en route, but the town Auxerre is not especially nice as far as French towns go.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The place is situated close to the center. There is a green park in front of the hostel and the rooms are very comfortable. The staff speak english very well. It is worth for the money you pay.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: very delightful surroundings and helpful staff. a whale of thx.
7,1 Good
Pros: The propery was authentic old and typically French. Its pleasant location was quiet and close to the Town centre. The kitchen was spacious and great for cooking ones own dinner, with the option of eating outside in a quiet courtyard or inside the beautiful kitchen itself.
Cons: The town centre was disappointing: there were few street cafe's, and the bars and restaurants were uninviting and unhelpful. The town appeared somewhat depressed.
5,8 Okay
Pros: Great location, cheap
Cons: Cleanliness is lacking, expectations from guests - “to clean up the room and bathroom area before leaving” - a bit unrealistic. Cold room - no heating on (December), on the wall it said it had to be paid for (? I assume, it was only in French). Also, there was no one at reception at time of check out, so I just left (had a train to catch, no time to look for anyone).

9,6 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff. Clean room. Plenty of free and secure parking. Close to shopping center.
Cons: An electric kettle in the room would be most welcome.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Good car parking facilities. Warm room and quiet as well. I will travel back to this hotel probably in March to stay one night en route to Greece. The booking process and payment was quite easy with no problems.
Cons: Bed pillows could be harder. And if a spare pillow was available this would be a bonus.
7,1 Good
Pros: Location to ferry port and late check in time.
Cons: Room could of been warmer and there is a need for more than one pillow.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Secure enclosed parking. Inside vending machines. Ground floor room.
Cons: Having a larger bathroom so the sink could be in there and not in the bedroom. For me l found the mattress too hard, so had an uncomfortable nights sleep. Single beds too close together.

ibis Auxerre Centre - Auxerre - Building
6
7,7 Good (1 171 reviews)
R1 087+
Overview Reviews
The ibis hotel is located beside the river Yonne, 10 minutes' walk from the city center, train station and famous Abbé Deschamps stadium and a stone's throw from St Germain Abbey, St Etienne cathedral, the theater and the museums. The hotel has 50 air-con ditioned rooms, some of which enjoy an impressive view of the river Yonne and the old town. Bar and snack service available 24 hours a day. Free Wi-Fi.
7,1 Good
Pros: It had a central location and the superior rooms had views of the river and cathedral.
Cons: The room was so small I could barely walk past the end of the bad. The bed had a mattress topper which was very uncomfortable as the sheet didn’t go round the whole bed but only on the topper. Having said that, I have found this year and last that this is the case with all Ibis. It seems that instead replacing the mattresses, which used to be excellent, they are putting toppers on the bed and not using them correctly. With the uncomfortable badly arranged/made beds I am unlikely to stay at an Ibis again. And in a two day stay the only thing that was done to our room was clean towels. So the badly bed was even worse the second night.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff. Decent breakfast, continental choice but sufficient. Location for centre Ville very good. Auxerre was s very pleasant surprise.
Cons: Air con in bedroom not powerful enough. Coffee at breakfast pretty insipid. Public parking space away from hotel, hotel didn’t take car the so if there was s problem they wouldn’t have known who to inform.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: I was positivity Surprised by the breakfast! Clean place and great location; close to the train station and center of the city !
Cons: The bathroom is very small!
6,7 Good
Pros: The location was very good, just a short walk from the town centre and with plenty of free parking nearby. Breakfast was good, varied and plentiful
Cons: The room we had was very small, barely enough room to open the door without hitting the bed, and not possible to have two large suitcases open and get into the bathroom at the same time. The air conditioning barely worked and was not up to the job of cooling the room . Would have been acceptable for a one night stay, but for the price of €88.30 for room only was not great value
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Great find..This hotel is situated just outside the town and adjacent to a the river. It is a short stroll to great restaurants and main town.
Cons: Nothing really
7,1 Good
Pros: Breakfast selection very good Bed very comfortable (although only slept on top due to poor air conditioning)
Cons: I had requested a room overlooking the river which I received an email confirming. The room (304) that I was allocated did just about face the river but it was very small compared with other river facing room. For £99 euros in a budget hotel I had expected better. I didn't query this at the time as my wife didn't want to "make a fuss". Shower door didn't seal properly and allowed water to flood the bathroom floor. Weather was very hot and the bedroom air-conditioning unit, whilst turned down to its minimum setting couldn't be adjusted below 22.5 degrees. I queried this with reception and was told it would gradually go down. I went out for the evening but it was still at the same temperature, which was too hot to sleep in the bed. I slept on top.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Location, breakfast
Cons: No air conditioning in the lobby
7,5 Good
Pros: Convenience to where we needed to be.
Cons: Nothing
7,1 Good
Pros: Location was excellent 24 hour service was really good and breakfast was good also
Cons: There was no soundproofing in the room and could hear everything next door room was small knocked the double bed as you opened the door and couldn’t get the air conditioning below 21 degrees
7,9 Good
Pros: Position right by the river.

4,2 Okay
Pros: The bed and accessibility to the motorway for our onward journey
Cons: The walls in our room were dirty and we were unable to use the faulty blind. We had to change rooms and the walls looked tired and dirty. The receptionist was ill mannered, unfriendly and definitely in the wrong job
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Access to motorway Everything good
Cons: Coffee
5,4 Okay
Pros: The proximity to the motorway.
Cons: Black mould on the tiles in the bathroom, no mat in the bathroom so when I splashed water on the floor which I wiped up with a towel the towel was filthy, I would guess that the floor hasn't been cleaned recently. The room smelt, it had obviously been shut up for a long time and as it was a very hot day it smelt slightly of mould or mildew. We paid €88 for three of us for one night, the restaurant was hugely overpriced, two salads and two pizzas came to nearly €50, not great..! Would I stay there again, NO..!!
7,5 Good
Pros: The night shift receptionist was very helpful despite not speaking English at all. Greatly appreciated.
Cons: A little bit moldy in the bathroom.
5,0 Okay
Pros: Breakfast was up to the usual Campanile standard so no complaints.

Cons: Cost of room, poor value for money £70 Booked months in advance. Dirty walls in room. Receptionist on the desk on our last visit in June.
5,4 Okay
Cons: We had an ant infestation in our room.
4,6 Okay
Pros: The meal was tasteless, appaling coffee, food the worste ive tasted in France
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The location was excellent for the autoroute, the restaurant was good value and the food was well presented and fresh. The staff were really nice all in all I would stay again
Cons: More pillows for the bed, there is only one extra and it’s a big bed

4,2 Okay
Pros: Although paid for, they have a private parking at the site, making it convenient if you're travelling with a car.
Cons: The establishment is rather dated and the room was tiny, crammed with furniture and without AC. The baby cot provided was creaky and on the verge of dismantling, our baby was able to twist it in any direction he wanted. Due to the lack of a kettle in the room I asked the lady at the reception for a boiled water for our baby's formula and she failed to offer us any, suggesting we should use hot tap water instead. On the day we were supposed to checkout the man at the reception abruptly refused to host our car in the paid parking of the property past the time of our checkout. We were to check-out at 11 and we requested to leave the car until 13 o'clock if possible. Despite the parking was half-empty at the time he straight refused us the favor. Definitely won't go back to this property.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location and very nice staff - seemed to be family run. Helpful with information, booking taxis etc. Good and varied French breakfast.
Cons: Room was basic and rather spartan but clean. Ground floor room on to the back court so quiet. Beds fine, but arrangement of toilet and bathroom a bit odd. Shower etc very basic.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Good location in the centre of town and with a small car park
Cons: Floor in our room was damaged
2,9 Mediocre
Pros: I'm afraid I have nothing good to say about this Hotel.
Cons: Bed uncomfortable. Room tiny. Far too expensive. Breakfast meagre. Showers not very clean.
2,5 Mediocre
Cons: I have said everything in previous review. In addition after a 7 hour drive to get there we were 15/20 minutes early and the woman owner? was extremely rude about this and did a lot of finger wagging.
5,0 Okay
Pros: The hotel was on a biking distance from the city centre.
Cons: Hotel Du Cygne is old, run down and downright ugly. The location is on a very busy street and despite the fact that I had a room not on the street side I didn't sleep well because of the noise. For the rest, the room and bathroom are basic and unattractive.
5,8 Okay
Pros: Central location
Cons: Room VERY basic Breakfast awful , inc coffee
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Good location. Friendly staff. Comfortable for our 1 night stay.
Cons: Small shower, a bit outdated, but what to expect from an older building and the hotel rating.
7,1 Good
Pros: Staff was extremely friendly.
Cons: Breakfast was subpar. There was no parking available even though there's listed parking. The CD was hard and the room was small. I couldn't close the bathroom door if I was in it.
Hotel Restaurant De Seignelay - Auxerre - Bedroom

A stay at Hotel restaurant Le Seignelay places you in the heart of Auxerre, steps from Theatre d'Auxerre and 5 minutes by foot from Auxerre Clock Tower. Featured amenities include a 24-hour business center, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and dry cleaning/laundry services.
7,5 Good
Pros: Great spot in old town. Comfortable beds. Off road parking nearby. Very pleasant and accommodating staff.
Cons: Mid takeover so not quite ready.
6,3 Good
Pros: Beautiful old hotel with lots of character and interesting features in the rooms. Lovely courtyard. Friendly, helpful staff. The town is beautiful.
Cons: Bathrooms were clean but the shower cubicles were poorly fitted and flooded into the bathroom within seconds of use! Bedroom carpets were stained. One bedroom had not been well cleaned - there were sweets under the bed! Our rooms were at the front of the hotel, it was very noisy on the street (traffic and people) and also in the hotel into the early hours of the morning, and too hot to have the window closed.
3,0 Mediocre
Pros: Clean room, central location
Cons: We chose this hotel over nearby alternatives because it had a jacuzzi. The first thing they told us on arrival is that the jacuzzi is broken. We were led to the room, which consisted of a double bed and white walls. No desk, no wardrobe, no pictures on the wall. No charm or creativity to be found anywhere. The shower was a flimsy cabin with three walls, and the fourth side open. This made for very cautious and uncomfortable showers, as the rest of the bathroom was white wallpaper, which clearly was not supposed to get wet. It "helped" that the water pressure was very low... But the "highlight" was the toilet. I've never seen a contraption like this! The toilet flush needed electricity to work, and sounded like an airplane engine! Needs to be heard to be believed.... Using it in the middle of the night was bound to wake up the whole hotel. Add to that that the hotel walls were paper thin, and every cough could be heard. All in all a very awkward and uncomfortable experience. If this was a cheap budget hostel, it might just be ok. But as a mid-priced hotel for a couple's weekend, it was a complete failure. Will most definitely not come back.
6,7 Good
Pros: breakfast is good , staff is nice
Cons: no air conditioning
6,3 Good
Pros: Good location. Attractive building.
Cons: Terrible fire safety provision, no fire door on stairs, rubbish by doorways. Room over storage. Blocked shower drain. Noisy room.
5,8 Okay
Cons: UncomfortBLE parking Personel with no english
4,2 Okay
Pros: Hotel is in easy walking distance of the town. The room had very clean linen and a comfortable bed, plenty of hot water.
Cons: Although it was advertised private parking was on site, it was not. As the owners do not live on site and would not leave the garage key we had no access to our luggage until the following morning. The exterior courtyard / garden needs attention the inner courtyard view from the room is in need of clearance. The main gas boiler in outside number 16 room, so noisy at night if you open the window. The bedroom window needs better security and security glass. No closet, wardrobe or even a hook in the bedroom to hang your clothes on.
6,3 Good
Pros: Location. Car parking.
Cons: Hotel was clean but tired and shabby, in need of updating. No kettle or water provided although they were included in facilities on booking form. Air on would have been helpful.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Secure motorcycle parking. Large room and very comfortable bed. Close to all the sights and attractions of Auxerre.
Cons: Stained carpets.
3,8 Mediocre
Pros: Dinner ok but no food on Sun
Cons: Booked superior room but got a very basic room without the advertised amenities. We are due a refund.

Cons: This should not be called as a hotel but Hammam instead. We did not sleep the whole night because of the high temperature. there were no air condition and even air fan system. And it seems a whole sunny day, rooms are warmed up and impossible to get back to a livable situation. Room was not clean well. Never stay again. Price may be cheap but I would better sleep at my car.

Cons: Very dirty room and shower room the linen was clean . Smelt strongly of stale cigarettes . Shower room was very old with cigarette burns on the sink .
