Cons: Nothing!
9,5 Excellent
Pros: Superb resort with excellent choice of restaurants and really friendly helpful staff.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful grounds, beach and pools. Loved Mizos the Japanese restaurant! Breakfast outstanding too. We took the villa vita yacht out for a full day cruise along the Algarve coast and saw the caves. Amazing experience we loved Jose and Antonio!
Cons: No complaints
9,5 Excellent
Pros: The room and private terrace, stunning hotel grounds, facilities, the impeccable service and the staff
Cons: Primarily three small points - the location of the tv in the bedroom is disrupted by the 4 poster bed which blocks direct visibility, a guide book is needed for the room (for example to understand the functionality of the thermostat, use of the fireplace, use of the sound system etc) and more onsight dining options for less heavy meals. However, there are all very small points to a very comfortable and relaxing stay.
9,3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was very good. Location was fantastic and good to have a choice of two venues.
Cons: The restaurants and pool bars were very good but I felt that the food was at times overly fussy and it would have been nice to have more varied options, especially a typical Portuguese restaurant amongst the restaurant choice.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: the staff is exceptional. always happy and very willing to help. great attitude and went far beyond their regular duties. so much to do at this resort. many restaurants and pools to choose from while at the same time you don't feel like there any too many people around. lots of places to relax yet many things for kids. a perfect resort for couples and families.
Cons: nothing.
9,5 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast, pools and the staff
Cons: Room prices and access to the beach
9,5 Excellent
Pros: Amazing place , a preview of the paradise
Cons: Add a salt water pool
9,3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful views from the infinity pool Lovely grounds and very kind staff especially around the pool Breakfast was tasty Lovely room (small apt) Decent spa Pool areas very tastefully designed Nice to have a no children pool but the ones that were family friendly were lovely too
Cons: It’s a personal thing but we found that the quality of food in the restaurants in the evening was not as high as we would expect and generally expensive, but it is of course a high end resort and it’s a question of taste of course. Housekeeping in the evening was a little bit erratic

Pros: Excellent breakfast on the Terrace each morning - everything was fresh and delicious. The location could not have been better for walking and site seeing.
Cons: The resort has only one heated pool of the 5 pools at the resort. Since the water at this time of year can be a bit cold, everyone wanted to be in the heated pool, and at times, it was very crowded with kids - a few times I counted 20 heads in the pool. There are Portugese families with multiple kids who own apartments at the resort that have been handed down since the 80's. These groups would descend upon the heated pool like an noisy army and stay the entire day. Their attitude is that they are "owners" and will do whatever they want. The resort needs to exert more control over these people. It's funny because kids will generally swim in icy waters, but they all gravitated to the warmer water that was available to them. If they can't heat another pool, the resort might want to think about making it 'adults only".
9,5 Excellent
Pros: Location and view are amazing. Green, well maintained paradise-like territory. We had a huge beautiful room just behind the pool, which was great. The reception staff and managers were vey attentive and helpful, however waiters could be more friendly. Overall we had great time.
Cons: No full length mirror in the room. The minibar was not freezing, but when asked it was replaced with new one very quickly. The doors in bathroom could not be locked. Restaurants were good but only two and quite expensive. I wish they had dinner buffet.

Cons: No jacuzzi
9,5 Excellent
Pros: The ocean was great. Rueben was very friendly and informative. Also the Divespot people especially Pedro were great.
5,8 Okay
Pros: view from the breakfast
Cons: to much people at one place for breakfast not very nice interior in the appartment pay way to much need a car to go anywhere
9,5 Excellent
Pros: We loved our upgrade to a sea view apartment.
Cons: We really didn’t like the plastic containers used to serve lunch. In this day and age we thought it was inappropriate and they should use bamboo trays or something that can be used again. We also didn’t like the seaweed on the beach not being cleared away.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Nice room with bath tube in the room; friendly staff, nice balcony, minimalist rustic comfortable decor
Cons: Big resort
8,8 Excellent
Pros: The pools and beach we’re perfect for bringing families and children but still luxe and upscale. Just more welcoming to children being poolside than other luxury resorts I’ve been too.
Cons: The restaurant up stairs was overpriced and with a limited menu. However the concierge was excellent and made great dinner recommendations for us outside of the resort.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Cleanliness , staff friendliness , rooms superb, breakfast excellent , pool and facilities top class . Overall , a super relaxing place .
9,5 Excellent
Pros: We stayed in this hotel about 4 or 5 years ago now with friends, and we enjoyed it then so when we were looking for a quick short break we thought it was ideal to return. From check in we were extremely impressed with the whole experience, reception staff really welcoming and as we had mentioned that we were returning guests and celebrating our wedding anniversary, we had been upgraded to a beautiful room overlooking the pool and fruit and wine left for us. Then the next day we had a lovely little note welcoming us back with a bottle of port and some cheese. The rooms had been refurbed since our last stay and to a very high standard, we enjoyed the whole experience so much we are already looking to return.
Cons: There were only a couple of little things if we really wanted to be picky.... we would have preferred to be able to walk up and down stairs, rather than having to use and wait for the lift. The fillings in the wraps and sandwiches could have been a bit more generous!!!
9,5 Excellent
Pros: Food, service, pool area, room
Cons: Distance to the beach
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The staff are so friendly and so willing to ensure your stay the best it can be! The food is great and the bar staff were also amazing... couldn’t find anything negative to say about the hotel... honestly a really great place to stay!

Tivoli Carvoeiro Algarve Resort - Praia do Carvoeiro - Outdoor view
4
9,1 Excellent (2 871 reviews)
R1 966+
Overview Reviews
Tucked into a cliffside overlooking the glistening Atlantic Ocean, the five-star Tivoli Carvoeiro Hotel is a jewel in the Algarve’s crown. This luxury resort is a 10-minute walk from the beach, and you can explore more of this stunning stretch of coastline on the Seven Hanging Valleys Trail. The hotel has 248 spacious rooms on six floors, with most offering a balcony or terrace. Decorated in elegant blues and whites to represent the sea, the rooms are equipped with Nespresso machines, flat-screen TVs and video on demand. Our Carvoeiro Suite even has a standalone tub that looks out over the ocean. You’ll be spoilt for choice by our bars and restaurants. Breakfast is an American-style buffet with pastries, local hams and cheeses, and hot options. Experience fine wines and authentic Portuguese cuisine in our three restaurants, with freshly caught seafood a menu highlight. To drink in the best views, head to our rooftop bars for a cool mojito or craft beer. Whether you want to pamper yourself with an organic seaweed treatment in the spa, invigorate yourself in the pool, dive beneath the ocean or organize a game of golf, the hotel’s incredible facilities and staff will make your stay a memorable one.
9,5 Excellent
Pros: Tivoli Carvoeiro was a beautiful place to stay! The BEST part of this spot is definitely the location and the view of the caves and the little private beach (although a little tricky to get down to). The location was great for exploring the Algarve and traveling to other local beaches and sites. The staff was very helpful in making recommendations and helping us plan our stay.
Cons: The price tag - it was expensive to stay and to eat/drink on the property. You are paying for location here. There was a lot of selection for breakfast, but it wasn't the best food we had on our trip. We didn't eat dinner on property for fear of the bill and we wanted a more local experience. Lunch was good, but again, expensive. Definitely a little more luxury than we are used to. This was our honeymoon trip and this was definitely a family spot, so lots of kids.
7,0 Good
Pros: Amazing view, great food and cocktails, amazing skybar, great location for exploring the caves nearby, quite area and friendly staff.
Cons: We only requested the room to be cleaned once in the 5 nights stayed, put the sign at 9AM and when we returned at 4PM they were just getting started; they didn't clean the floors or change the bed linens. Very noisy rooms, you could hear your next door neighbors. Lots of people were reserving the sunbeds by the pool early morning by placing towels on them and nobody telling them off. Quite uncomfortable pillows.
7,5 Good
Pros: The comfort. The breakfast. Bed. Pool, bars and restaurants. The view.
Cons: Walking distance to the beach (15 minutes)
9,3 Excellent
Pros: Location, view and good breakfast
Cons: Ants in the room
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was good, staff very attentive, despite large crowds of people & very noisy
Cons: Coffee was awful served by staff, much better from nespresso machine. It was very noisy but probably not much can be done about this, except go at a quieter time! I was disappointed with the room, I did not think it was upto 5 star standard.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing view, great breakfast. Comfy bed and great location. Great family hotel wouldn’t recommend for couples in school holidays
Cons: Sunbeds... would expect a 5 star to have comfier sunbeds. There was 10 with cushions but always reserved early in the morning even though the hotel asks for know one to reserve people still did. Staff at pool restaurant were a little rude not what you expect at a 5 star hotel. Staff at the bar and breakfast were great though
8,0 Excellent
Pros: The views and location.
Cons: A/C didn't work. Service was beyond slow. Pool closed at 7 pm. Bars and restaurants opened at odd hours
9,5 Excellent
Pros: We went to the Tivoli on our honeymoon as don’t normally stay in hotels like this! Our room had twin beds instead of double so we were put in a different room immediately and a more beautiful one. Food was excellent. Always atleast 1 veggie option but I just ate from the salad bar as it was the best. Spotlessly clean. Staff were lovely and friendly and our room was always cleaned when we left for meals. Highly recommend.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful property, amazing views. Staff was super friendly and very accommodating.
Cons: There’s nothing that I didn’t like.

9,5 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff, clean environment, on time room services and beautiful complex in general.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: It was great. We really enjoyed the location and facilities. While we were there the indoor pool was closed for annual maintenance which was annoying. But overall beautiful property with helpful staff. There is a great winery nearby where we went for lunch one of the days it was fabulous.
Cons: Overall everything was great. I don't really have any suggestions on the stay.
3,8 Mediocre
Pros: It was an ok hotel. There was nothing amazing about it.
Cons: Rather average hotel, but sold as a luxury spa and resort. Rather expensive for what it is. Terrible breakfast buffet. Spa was almost non existent with one staff. Food at jasmine bar was horrible.
9,3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was fantastic in this Hotel we spent a wonderful weekend there. There is very beautiful beaches nearby. Swimming pool was great.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were incredibly helpful (we arrived much earlier than check-in time and checked out later too because we had a late flight). Transfer bust to beaches was excellent and driver was very friendly. All the front desk staff were excellent. Room was spotless and bathrooms were immaculate. Stayed in the two bed apartment with garden view (not pool view) which we found to be private and peaceful. Pool was lovely and breakfast was excellent. Poolside restaurant food was good too. We used the kids club for our 5 year old and it was very good with some great activities (reptiles, parrot show etc). An excellent experience all round, and would visit again.
Cons: Neighbours were very noisy on one evening and the design of the apartment meant our master bedroom was next to the neighbours front/living room. So music and voices were very loud (after midnight) whilst we were trying to sleep. That was only an issue on one evening and it didnt affect our stay. I would say most of the residents are very considerate. The location was remote (which we liked) and many residents had a car (we didn't). We only stayed for 7 nights and managed perfectly without a car (using the transfer bus 3 times), but I think if you were staying longer you may want a car to visit more of the area (restaurants etc).
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Location
Cons: The breakfast was not up to standard in quality and variation for such a nice hotel
7,0 Good
Pros: Size, lay-out and comfort of the apartment. Direct access to garden. Friendly staff. Nice sunbeds pool area.
Cons: Very slow and inefficient F&B service. Although staff is very friendly, ordering drinks and a meal @ pool bar took forever.
5,8 Okay
Pros: We needed a total rest, and the hotel certainly had the facilities for us to sit by a pool for 4 days. Our rooms were next door to each other and the resort is very quiet at night, so we rested well. The pool was nice and there weren't too many other people using the resort who weren't staying there.
Cons: The competition in the Algarve is strong and we felt that the hotel was a bit old and run down for the prices we paid. We were very disappointed with the food. Breakfast was only OK and we had the Moroccan Buffet on the first night and it was awful - and cost 28 Euro per person!!!!! Nothing Moroccan about it. This meant we went out every day for lunch and dinner which was OK, but not what we had wanted. We played pingpong a fair bit (to escape the heat of the day) and whilst there were plenty of tables, we had to pay 5 Euros to rent the equipment!!! We were paying so much to stay there and then had to pay more to play pingpong????? And the areas were very dusty and dirty - not cleaned once during our 4 night stay. The staff were sweet but very young and inexperienced. The lady who served us during the Moroccan buffet wasn't even sure how to open a wine bottle. We felt we were paying Algarve prices for a sub standard experience.
9,5 Excellent
Pros: A modern hotel complex - I loved the overall design with echoes from Portugal’s Moorish architectural past built in. Our room was large, well appointed and comfortable with bathrobe and slippers supplied. The Health club likewise had a well equipped gym with a good choice of classes and facilities included both indoor as well as an outdoor pool. The grounds were well tended. Tea making facilities were provided in the bedrooms. Breakfast offered a fantastic choice to cater for all tastes. Everywhere was spacious and tastefully decorated with water features throughout.
Cons: I can’t think of anything.

9,3 Excellent
Pros: Very nice hotel and its area... and it’s huge! Great gym very nice breakfast Beautiful beach Nice restaurants Great pools Very clean three-bedroom apartment Little supermarket in the hotel to get simple stuff as milk, bread, wine - very handy We loved the stay!
Cons: - We were driving for 10 minutes around the hotel area to find their reception... the signs were at the beginning „residence“ then they turned into „casas“ so it‘s quite confusing and we asked receptionist about that and she said that we need to complain to management - so,guys, we are complaining sort of :) - Kids club we found very expensive for 70€ a day, with 4 kids it’s too much and also not everyone at the reception knew the rules of the kids club so you had to ask 3 different persons for rules/payments etc... - Not enough stuff in the kitchen to cook etc... 3 bedroom apartment requires cooking for many people so there should be enough stuff for it - Very hard beds

Cons: We wish we would have had coffee and tea service in our rooms, or at least at the reception area.

Pros: The room was clean and the hotel is opposite the beach which is really convenient. The staff were so nice even though we were attending a festival they were still hospitable and helpful

Pros: Room was amazing. Gorgeous views and fantastic breakfast
Cons: The pool area is small for the size of the hotel and gets quite shaded but the beach is across the road
8,5 Excellent
Pros: Nice breakfast with lots of variety. Rooms are spacious. Staff is very friendly, especially Pedro!
Cons: Nothing regarding the hotel itself, but Portimão is run down and dilapidated. This hotel is one of the best on the boardwalk.
9,7 Excellent
Pros: Lots of choices for breakfast. Lots of restaurants in area. Close to beach!
Cons: Only complaint is- we had a sea view room, but there was a huge video screen right across the street that played 24/7. If you have a sea view room ask to be on a floor higher then 3!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: I loved the location the hotel and the staff I had a wonderful stay thank you
10,0 Excellent
Pros: It was central or Portimao had all the shops/beach super close
Cons: nothing
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Location was perfect! We were close to the beach. You can walk to restaurants, bars, casino. There were white tee pees down the street where you can buy sourvenirs and there was a carousel ride for children. It was a fun weekend for the whole family.
Cons: Parking was €20 a day. There was a dirt lot where you can park for free. It’s about a 10 minute walk. The refrigerator in our room was not working so we couldn’t store water for it to get cold. The bathroom door seemed to once have a lock and it was removed. So you can peak through the door and see inside or out.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Algarve is expensive. I thought the junior suite and half board package was a great value for the area and our family of 4. Both breakfast and dinner (that's thru half board) had great options. I loved the expansive salad bar at dinner and the champagne at brunch.
Cons: The air conditioning did not cool the room well.
7,0 Good
Pros: Good location, amazing suite.
Cons: Noise!! Music Festival on in Praia de Rocha which resulted in 100s descending into centre and in our hotel, security didn’t seem to have any control over them. Loud and abnoxious groups coming down corridors late at night and large groups out on balconies and room next to us . We complained to security but yet the noise carried on, our son was unwell also and had no sleep because of this, none of us actually had any sleep! we had no choice but to put up with the noise, very upsetting!

Pros: scenery around the hotel grounds were just amazing, ,,breakfast had everything you could possibly want in a beautiful setting inside tables or outside ,a la carte restaurant and lunch at the pool bar was very appetizing and pool area kept very clean. well laid out plenty of sunbeds and parasols
Cons: nothing everything was great
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We have been to the hotel five times so that speaks for itself we always sorry to leave
9,5 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast buffet (included in your stay) was great. Pretty much on par with 5 star all-inclusives from Mexico. The facilities were very clean, and the indoor/outdoor pools were well maintained with plenty of sunbeds nearby.
Cons: The location is a bit more remote, as you're looking at 50 euro taxi ride from Faro airport. The beach itself is a 5 minute stair climb, which isn't too bad. The jacuzzi was temperamental (it shut down randomly and also refused to start sometimes) and wasn't hot enough.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Good pool good food good people...all good .
Cons: 2nd time here at Portobay and we love the location with a hired car its within minutes of Albufeira and a lovely drive to any where on the Algarve. Lovely beach for strolls and food is excellent . We feel at home with the staff very accommodating.

Cons: the bedrooms are so outdated. the decor, the carpeting, etc. a/c not strong enough for the heat. the card slot that powered the room was faulty, needed to be fixed for the electricity to work. the bathroom had a drainage problem and had to be fixed. you could hear the live music until midnight in the bedrooms. even though the hotel had beach access, you had to climb a huge amount of stairs to get there; very difficult for older people or people with mobility issues. public beach so you had to pay for umbrellas and chairs.

Pros: Staff were very helpful but some had language difficulties
Cons: The facility is understaffed and the service is weak even though the staff tried their best.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful beach. Helpful staff. Great food!
Cons: Too big!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Stayed here before - the most picturesque hotel I’ve been in
Cons: Restaurants can be pricey.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Cleanliness, spacious, not over crowded. Selection and variety for adults and children, upmarket finishes.
Cons: Queuing for omelettes for breakfast(being picky!) they were good though! A consideration - the suite was lovely, but tricky having 2 floors with young kids. The access to children at night was difficult and meant parents slept separately, 1 with each child. The staircase is not child friendly.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Exceeded expectations in every way: friendliness of staff, food, facilities all first-class, in an incomparable setting. Truly exceptional.
7,0 Good
Pros: The property was very nice. The location was amazing and relaxing. The landscape was beautiful.
Cons: We booked a grand deluxe room (for extra charge) and asked for a quiet room. They gave us a “connected” room to the neighbours and in front of the breakfast area, and the noise started very early from the staff. The staff was friendly and polite unless you need their support. Due to unprofessional check-in, additional amount for the stay was booked. During the stay we had to communicate and to explain that the full amount was already booked and the reception staff stated We should present bank evidence. ridiculously. Finally, the staff realised their mistake but no one apologised. There are several restaurants in the complex with strange and inconvenient working time.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing experience. The food, the service and the property were 5 star status. Blew away any other property in the area. The food was worth the price.

Pros: First- I came with my wife not my partner. Leave that choice in the question please. Glad to see so many families here. I loved the grounds, flowers and fountains. Second- The odour from the sewer needs to be addressed/ thanks for moving us. Third- At least one wine (same year and winery) on the menu the of La Pescador Restaurant was sold at the local Llidl for 1.5 EU. ps I am a winery owner and notice such things. Thanks for our stay- we have been at other hotels in the collection and love them too. Follow us- we are travel guides. Cons: Cocktails a bit rubbish and and food ordered to room service wasn't as described and random

Pros: Fantastic hotel. Really clean, staff were excellent and food was lovely. Buffet breakfast which was included in price was amazing. Location is brilliant. 5mins walk away from the strip and 10min taxi ride to old town.
Cons: Our room was on the ground floor facing the street, view of only a hedge. Was a real pity.

Pros: Staff and overall eperience excellent.
9,3 Excellent
Pros: The food in restaurant was 5 star and the waiting staff were excellent and made us very welcome. We ate there 6 nights out of 7 because the set evening menu was excellent value for money and delicious. The beach was lovely especially the one along the walkway- very quiet it was like having our own personal beach.
Cons: The local town was a bit noisy and tacky for us personally
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Near beach
Cons: Charging one euro to weigh your suitcase for the price you pay to stay there I thought it was a bit mean
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Mostly everything. Only slight moan is they did not replenish coffee and they do not provide bottled water. Very clean and in good location. Plenty of sun beds.
7,5 Good
Pros: We had a beautiful big room with a balcony. Great to sit outside later in the evening, once it cools off a little and have a nice glass of wine. Lots of counter space in bathroom for toiletries! We stayed at 5 different hotels in our trip thru Portugal and this was one of the fives that had champagne and strawberries with chocolate congratulating us on our 30 th wedding Anniversary! That made my day!!!
Cons: I found the beach a bit of a walk especially when it’s hot.
9,5 Excellent
Pros: The bed was a little too high for me but very comfortable. The breakfast was very good but I would have liked to have had fresh figs.
Cons: I thought there would be sun loungers on the beach as part of the hotel complex and this was important for me as I am partly disabled. Also there was no hand rail for entering the pool.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: Perfect in every way
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was lovely, plenty of choice, bed very comfy
Cons: They didn't have real tea, which i thought was strange only herbal teas!!
9,3 Excellent
Pros: Nice room and the balcony facing to the ocean, the room and hotel facilities are very nice and fresh. Want specially thank the stuff working at the dinner shifts, we actually would recommend to take half board meal, the dinners are very good indeed.
Cons: It feels strange to pay 3 euros to change the pool towel. It looks like cheep action from the hotel and also bring inconvenience. Such minor payments must be included into the price of the room.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was excellent. Breakfast was best choice and presentation I have ever experienced. Staff went above and beyond. High standard and excellent easy vibe felt in hotel. Well designed and presentation inside hotel. Beautiful! Outstanding! Will go again. Facilities good and near beach. Staff helped with any trips, transport etc to make our stay better. Staff from reception to cleaners were lovely, polite and worked hard.
Cons: Lovely pianist some evenings but one night he played from 7pm - 10pm . Bit too long and late as quite loud.

Pros: The property is in a wonderful location literally on the beach. You just walk 5 min on a path from the hotel. The beach is a beautiful public beach where you can find a couple of bars and restaurants. Also is near all the attractions and the town of Albufeira (about 10 min driving). There is a bus you can take to the town if you are not by car. Family friendly hotel with some restaurant and more than 4 pools around the complex. We rent the apartment with a sea view and was worth it. The apartment was very well equipped so we were able to cook everyday and enjoy the place. I would definitely think of this hotel for a family trip.
Cons: WiFi is not free of charge if you rent the apartments. You have to pay u$ 1 per phone/iPad/etc a day.
9,5 Excellent
Pros: Awesome beach in a walking distance. Excellent apartments with everything needed. Well equipped kitchen. Really good breakfast at affordable price (if tired from everyday cooking ;) )
Cons: Small balcony with huge table in it leaves almost no space to chill. Cold water flowing in children pool.

Pros: The room was spacious and beds very comfortable. Staff was very kind and friendly. Breakfast and dinner were highlight of the day - delcious! Hotel is located near shopping center and walking distance from the beach.
Cons: We found during 3 days from our arrival pieces of glass from our balcony and room floor - not satisfied with the room-service. Our room was on the top floor where the elevator is very noisy 24/7 - I recommend earplugs if You want to sleep on Your vacation. Also would like to have more silent pool area - loud music every day from morning till evening nonstop is not for everybody.

4,5 Okay
Pros: Location was adequate.
Cons: The staff were quite unfriendly and u willing to help. The rooms are dated as are the appliances (noisy AC, rusty bathroom fittings). There is a lot of noise from other apartments and music at the pool starts at 9:30am and can be heard from the first floor.

Pros: In terms of location, the property within easy distance of the Strip or the Old town. I’m a bad sleeper and there was no noise at night which was divine and helped me have the best 6 nights sleep I’ve had in years!
Cons: There appeared to be a need for extra umbrellas for loungers around the pool (some of the umbrella stands were empty)

Pros: Great place. A bit inland, but free shuttle to the beach each day. Great facilities in the hotel and great breakfast.
Cons: The place was great. Not sure how good the main restaurant menu was for children though
7,5 Good
Pros: nice hotel, little dated
Cons: I think all employees working in a hotel, those at the breakfast but for sure those at the reception should greet you when you are passing by...A smile costs nothing...I think this is the management’s responsibility ...apart from that good hotel
9,3 Excellent
Pros: Great staff, nice facilities and good restaurant
Cons: There should be a door separating bedroom and living room. Also a bit pricey for basic stuff like water.
6,3 Good
Pros: The property looks great, great garden in the back with an equal amazing pool. Rooms have a decent size and a great bed. Nice pool bar. Ample parking space. Great staff at the reception, always happy to help and offer recommendations.
Cons: The walls of the rooms are paper thin. Could hear kids playing pool downstairs, and the live music that they had on occasion (playing for I don’t know who because nobody stayed there to enjoy the show). Breakfast menu needs a reworking. Had the worst selection of ham and salami. Scrambled eggs were tasteless. Pool bar menu for lunch is okish. Pizza dough is frozen pizza dough and the chef piles huge amounts of cheese on it to compensate. Some cocktails are done in a hurry and they do not taste good. Serving staff definitely needs a training on how to serve and wait tables. The amount of times they come over to clean your table during breakfast gets annoying quick.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We had our honeymoon stay and they surprised us by giving a champagne and fruit platter in our room.
6,8 Good
Pros: THE BREAKFAST, ENTERTAINMENT AND STAFF WERE GREAT
Cons: The wifi is slow. wouldn't have noticed if managed to afford the overpriced stay. The ad was misleading and so was a member of staff (lady that told me in email that hotel would look after me and my family concerning activities) I realised she just wanted me to pay more money as she did not advise cheapest option. Told me was best to book with her. I spent everything on this holiday but will never book with booking. com again, because it seems they too don't care about their customers. Then you removed my Genius account till i book with you again? NEVER!! The children did not like the lunch menu ...not wide enough selection prehaps and therefore had to fork out for more food before having to pay for dinner in a few hours. I didn't like the whole experience starting from Gatwick AIRPORT!
7,5 Good
Pros: The place was beautiful, clean and friendly staff.
Cons: We didn’t manage to use the restaurant (always fully booked)or try the massage cause no availability. The pool was always very crowded and the umbrellas where not always free or sun beds.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic location, beautiful grounds of the hotel - we stayed in one of the Villas, and it was lovely. Beautiful pool, superb food at both restaurants, and lovely breakfast. The best part of this hotel is truly the staff - what a wonderful group of people. So happy to help you, warm and friendly, never too busy, and such attentiveness. What a difference it makes. We really hope to return, and highly recommend this hotel - especially to those travelling with young kids. Kids Club was amazing, and the entire place is both kid and adult friendly.

Pros: Everything was good: Food (restaurant Serenata) & breakfast, swimming pool, room; all the property is beautiful and staff is very nice and helpful, especially Raquel explaining everything always with a smile!

7,0 Good
Pros: The hotel itself is stunning, the pool is big and there are plenty of sun beds available throughout the day so there is no need to be in a rush to get down to the pool and reserve a bed. Supermarkets are all nearby as well as the main strip which is about a 5 minute walk. The beach is also very close, approximately a 10-15 minute walk.
Cons: The hotel staff were not friendly at all throughout our trip, it seemed as though they did not like young adults staying at the hotel, simply based on how we were treated in comparison to older guests. Only once were we told by security to turn off our music which we admittedly had been playing till late in the night however, before this moment we had done nothing wrong but were not welcomed at all. Even when leaving we were told if our flight was later in the day we could use all the hotel's facilities like usual and shower/freshen up using the health club facilities, however when doing so it was made out like we were being hassle for the staff. To make matters worse when waiting and loading the cab for our journey back to the airport, the staff did not even say goodbye to us which i thought was extremely rude and unacceptable
9,3 Excellent
Pros: We had a free room upgrade upon arrival which was great! The room was very good, spacious and very comfortable. The staff was very friendly, specially this one cleaning service lady (though regrettably I don't remember her name!). Good kept outdoor spaces, good size clean pool. Also great time of the year to visit (for a couple), as there are not too many families and kids around.
Cons: We didn't have breakfast at the hotel, though we dined in its restaurant the first night and it was very mediocre, specially for the price. We complaint about the steak sauce as it was not good (badly seasoned and didn't taste good) but only receive a 'chef says it's good, it's how we do it' answer.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Lovely clean, spacious apartment. Beautiful pool area. Plenty sun loungers and umbrellas. Helpful Staff.
Cons: Air con in sitting room wasn’t working so room was very hot to sleep in. Bedroom aircon worked well.
9,5 Excellent
Pros: The staff were lovely
9,5 Excellent
Pros: Vila Petra is a beautiful apart hotel which is maintained to a high standard. Nothing was too much trouble and the indoor pool was well used by our boys. The outdoor pool is also lovely but a little chilly in April (as to be expected). The grounds are lovely. The apartment itself was huge and clean. We had a two bed with 4 adults and 2 young children. There was plenty of space. Nicely tucked away from the hustle and bustle but walking distance to beach and lots of lovely restaurants.
Cons: Nothing about the propriety itself. The ‘strip’ wasn’t for us but the beaches are beautiful and there are still some great traditional restaurants nearby.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Location, cleanliness, staff, facilities.
9,5 Excellent
Pros: Staff friendly . Very spacious accommodation. Pool area very well kept. Plenty of sun loungers. Breakfast buffet excellent.
Cons: Have no complaints
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Staff, location, cleanliness, pool area-all kept to such a high standard. Location was close to the strip but far enough away that it was peaceful.
Cons: All good!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Location is perfect being just a few minutes walk to the main strip while also only being a 10/15 min stroll from the beach. Vila Petra is very well maintained they have an extremely high level of cleanliness, the staff are friendly and helpful. The pool is huge with plenty of sunbeds and a small poolside bar. The rooms are spacious and modern with everything you could need (a home away from home) rooms are throughly cleaned daily. The cleaner not only tidied changed beds hoovered and mopped but even loaded up the dish washer every day! ( never seen this level of cleaning while away) the complex has everything on site you could need and we honestly couldn't of asked for anymore. Beautiful gardens surround the pool and if your lucky enough to get a pool view as we did u can also see the sea :-) Vila Petra outdid our expectations ! Amazing :-)
Cons: Returning home :(

Pros: This was our third time to stay there and they have maintained their high standards. Staff very friendly, the whole place is spotless and very family friendly. An ideal place to stay on holiday.

8,3 Excellent
Pros: proximity to the beach
Cons: -lack of utensils in the kitchenette like pots or dishes -we had to change studio on the second night because we were placed next to the neighboring resort where there is very loud music animation until after midnight, result: the first night was to forget with a 2 year old child
7,0 Good
Pros: Staff friendly but that's pretty much everything nice.
Cons: Breakfast was very poor, we ended up having the same thing every morning. Pools were small and freezing cold most of the day. Paid for a sea view room but got a basement one with a view of the car park and a little sea. The hotel is no way 5*, it's crumbling and unreasonably expensive for what they have on offer.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hotel with lots to do! Tricky to locate, but its position on the coast and proximity to the beach and shops is perfect. Ample parking available ... and it feels very safe. Reception team was warm and welcoming. Check-in easy and fuss-free. Concierge available but plenty of information provided throughout the hotel. Room spacious, especially for our baby and pram (we were given a disabled persons room). They also kitted it out with a cot as per our request. Thank you! The room was clean and comfortable. A few maintenance bits to take care of, but nothing standing out as an eyesore. Fridge and kettle provided. TV reception and channel options excellent. Wifi availability, access and speed throughout the entire hotel was very impressive, even at the pool. Pools, activities and beach no more than a hop, skip and a jump. Very satisfied! Pools were very well maintained and clean. Pool/Beach towels provided ... and even though they seem to have run out on day 1 the problem was rectified by day 2. Ample deck chairs available ... and what a pleasure not to have to reserve or wrestle guests for space. Hotel offers several restaurant options. We tried the Burger joint (Pergula) as a take away in our room ... on our balcony ... overlooking the sea. Recommendation - Bacalhau Burger - big yum! The main hotel restaurant serves a buffet every evening. Lovely atmosphere and wide variety of food options. But personally at Eur 35 per head, I'd rather eat down at the Atlantico Restaurant / Bar overlooking the beach. Simple food; decent quality; good prices ... and chilled live music after 5pm. Breakfasts were fab! A smorgasbord to suit almost any morning preference. PS: Coffee outstanding - thank you Nespresso! "Realito" kids club a great option (and the staff is full of youthful energy). This is the perfect place for a family with kids. Romantic couples be warned - my child might fling a french fry into your Aperol!
Cons: Small negatives - housekeeping inconsistent and slow. We never knew when the room would be serviced - day 1 - 11am, day 2 - 4pm, etc ... and perhaps the odd smile and greeting? The only staff members who didn't. The gym and spa lovely, but the equipment getting old and requiring some maintenance.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful location. Good facilities. Very clean
Cons: We have stayed here many times but we were a little disappointed this time. Breakfast was chaotic with long queues to be seated. The decor is looking a bit tired & basic things are missing from the rooms such as shaving mirror, coffee machine. To charge €1.50 for a tea bag is ridiculous and there wasn’t any milk either. The staff tried their best but didn’t seem as on the ball as they were previously.
7,0 Good
Pros: Location and the beach
Cons: It was advertised as 5 star and it was more like 3 and a half.
9,3 Excellent
Pros: Everything, especially for a family with little children is perfect
Cons: Cannot fault it
4,3 Okay
Pros: It has a very easy access to the beach. Reception people were very helpfull.
Cons: The pools were small compared to other pools in same area. Pools were also a bit dirty. Rooms were nothing special for a 5 star hotel. Breakfast was too crowaded all the time and good was not good tasting. Kids playground outside was too small and in the sunz no shades, inside activities all cost even though the prices we paid were rediculously high. For half the price or less we could have gone to similar place, 100m away there is for example balaia golf village which in my personal opinion is way better. Edit: even though I am in finland i am portuguese and know the area well.
5,0 Okay
Cons: Food was bad, and isn’t suitable with the price we pay. The service was very expensive.

Pros: Location and Staff
Cons: Food and Clealiness
9,3 Excellent
Pros: Staff were all excellent. The kids club and the staff there especially were wonderful. The restaurants were generally good and reasonably priced. The beach and pools were all very good and convenient, though we were happiest going to one of the pools near the apartments rather than the ones with the sea view. Much quieter and a little cooler - either way, great to have the options.
Cons: Evyerthing was fantastic.

Pros: A wonderful oceanfront property full of amenities and lots of charm. I went in the off season so it was magical and relaxing. Good restaurants, good food, complete gym and spa and an amazing beach at the doorstep. Really enjoyed my stay.
Cons: The lack of a tea kettle in the room

Cons: We were charged 3 euro per nespresso coffee, I didn’t see any sign in the room and assumed coffee would be complementary. I thought this was a bit strange

Pros: Nice quality apartments at the marina. With a small balcony. Just for 2. With underground parking. Nice staff. The hotel swimming pool was quite popular. If you are a late riser then all sunbeds are occupied. The hotel is a short walk from the sea. With easy access. The beach is very wide and long. The boardwalk (kilometers) has good restaurants. Can recommend the restauarants Farol and Nautico. Nice view at sundown.
Cons: People occupying sunbeds just with a towel without using it.

Pros: nice Size room kept very clean and a good selection of toiletries. There is a fridge in the room which is great for keeping water etc cold.
Cons: The a/c was poor it took 2 days to cool the room even after complaining at reception. You are charged for the coffee in the room, and breakfast is terrible you have to hunt out a clean table and it can take up to 20 minutes to get a fresh egg cooked, the coffee is terrible.
