The location is amazing - walking distance to everything in historic downtown Annapolis Royal. The breakfast exceeded our expectations... yoghurt and fruit, homemade pound cake, each day with baked eggs, sausages and fresh croissants one morning and a cheese and asparagus omelette with fresh baked aged cheddar biscuits the next. The house is very old and quirky with many original features. The floors aren’t always level but that adds to the charm. The newly added en-suite bathroom is nicely done. We stayed in the Joseph Totten room, overlooking the river. Each room comes with a very helpful binder with information on the area as well as the history of the house, which is extensive. Also, the house comes with a dog, Lucy, who is very friendly!
Our rom included an antique clock which, while beautiful, ticks fairly loudly and might bother some people’s sleep. We always travel with earplugs so it didn’t bother us.
The historic age of the property made it a beautiful home. The front and back gardens were beautifully maintained. The view over the water was gorgeous and the central location afforded us the ability to walk 5 minutes to shopping, restaurants, Fort Anne, the genealogy center at the O’Dell House Museum which was two doors away.
The bed was uncomfortable.
Beautifully looked after with the most fantastic breakfast.
Being picky, the wi-fi was a bit erratic. Could have done with a TV for the RWC!
