Friendly staf who will answer your questions with pleasure. Very good location at the Rembrandt Square for a good price. Comfortable beds ..
Shared bathrooms can be annoying because other guests don't have respect to clean after showering or using the toilet.
Awesome friendly staff. We check in very late and they are still accommodating.
Unfortunately our beds had bed bugs. We were bitten.
Okay the reason I am giving it a pleasant feedback is rest of the staff who work here and it’s central location. Rembrandt Square is one of the most happening Square in all of Amsterdam away from the red light district.
So there is a black guy who work at night shift here. Me and my dad after missing our flight came back to the hotel and found this person on the front desk. We have already spent a night there so we knew the procedures and path to come to this property, plus it was cheap. we left Schiphol airport by paying the Rembrandt Square hotel in full online as it was already midnight. The guy first tried to trick us into paying the rent again 60£ to be exact. I told him I have paid in full in advance. Then he pretended to check his computers and said yes and crossed it. No apology there. Second thing he did was asked for 100£ deposit for the stay. I was like what the eff... told him dude we already spent a night here and there was no such thing. we didn’t have to pay a penny, it’s paid fully. If any deposit is needed booking.com can make the deposit online. You don’t have to ask us for the cash. In the meanwhile, he had handed us the keys. He started saying that it’s the procedural. I told him, I know your procedures, I have been here a night ago. He said give me the keys back. I was like no. Why? Tell me the reason first. He ACTUALLY came out of the desk to get the keys. I was like what’s wrong with this guy, first he tried to rip us off by charging us double. then he want a deposit which is 40% more than the actual amount of payment. Then another white guy at the front desk came and I said he knows us. Ask him. He said since we know you, you can stay. I was like what the heck? Since when is this depositing 100£ there procedure now? They didn’t ask for anything when I stayed there from 6-7mar. We spent the night in anguish and left the place in disgust. The only saving grace was Lawrence in the morning and his two female compliances. They were warm and intelligent. We missed the flight again and I suggested my dad to go back to the hotel. He said clearly that we are not returning to that hotel because we will meet the same attendant as it’s again midnight.
Location is a couple of km away from the Center but walkable and happening Square. Hotel in itself is basic. I like there breakfast. Not much not less, just a reasonable amount. 24/7 free tea/coffee was an add on.
Sinks in the room. Shared bathrooms. No lifts. Too congested. Famous night club at the bottom. Very very basic. You have to ask for the hair dryer.
If you're looking for a party base in a great location or price is a big criteria then go for it. It's clean, staff are great, location fantastic. Breakfast is included free and decent
It's really noisy. They hand out free ear plugs, but even that wasn't always enough. Don't underestimate this if you need your sleep.
