Location is great. The guy from the reception was more than helpful.
You cannot call it a hotel, on the latest its a guest house where you deliver your key every single time you are going out adding the TV remote when you check out!!! . Rooms are super compacted and everything is teared off even the towels. Breakfast is less than basic, Stairs are horrible even for a hiker and mountain climber like myself. For the price offered there were other good options. I have been in Amsterdam so many times and this was the least preferable stays i had taken.
The room was small, it smelt the bathroom too small couldn’t even wash while in the shower and staff was rude
liked the breakfast , liked the location , liked having a safe and a fridge , a hair drier too , private bathroom, very small but ok. .I know there's not a lot of space in Amsterdam hotels but that's normal... I could walk anywhere from the hotel and back..great coffee at breakfast, nice croissant and Dutch cheese.,now that I'm back home I really miss the coffee.....
everything was fine.....breakfast room very small but great views from it so that was fine too....
Very central, everything within easy walking distance. Room was very cosy and quiet.
The rooms could do with Aircon, and The breakfast could have been better - the addition of cereal or a hot option would be ideal.
Establishment is ok for using as a base. We tended to stay out for 12 hours one day just to avoid the steep stair climb. However, we arrived earlier than check-in time and were met at the door by a kind gentleman who took our cases for storing until room was ready, while we soaked up the glorious sunshine and took in some sights. Location is a short walk from Dam Square or a short tram stop away, and near to many attractions. Basic continental breakfast - croissants, cheese and jams, selection of teas/coffees - enough to set you up till lunchtime. As we have been previous visitors to Amsterdam we did not require much assistance from Hotel reception. Request to hand in key if going out tho! Room had double bed and single bed, tea/coffee making - clean but exceptionally hot due to weather - fan in room did not help and windows only opened slightly. Bathroom very small - barely enough room to turn around - and I am slight built - so larger framed people would find space very limited.
The steep stair climb and depending what floor your room is on - this could offer another load of steps to climb. I didn't like handing key to room back to reception - know this could be an issue for keeping safe and avoiding costs of replacing.
