Phidias Piraeus Hotel - Piraeus - Bedroom

Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access, a 24-hour business center, and limo/town car service. A cruise ship terminal shuttle is provided at no charge.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: 1) Location Location of the hotel is amazing. It is walking distance to all the good restaurants and the pier which has a great view of the yachts. Perfect and safe to have a night walk. 2) Staff We were greeted well by the staff. He (I apologise as I could not remember his name) was helpful in recommending restaurants and even mapped out the directions. We tried one of it and we loved the food there. Check-in and check-out process was a breeze. 3) Free shuttle to and from Piraeus Port I booked this hotel primarily because it provided free shuttle to and from Piraeus Port as we were headed to Santorini the next morning at 730am. We took a bus from the airport to the Port and requested for a shuttle to pick us up from the Port. This stay was already worth it for this very reason. 4) Rooms Slightly small but it was good for 2. Clean and comfortable :) Love our stay there!
Cons: We requested for a shuttle transfer to pick us up from Port to hotel but the driver never show up. The staff, however, was responsive to ask us to take a taxi and we were reimbursed for it.

7,7 Good
Pros: very handy for the sites, close to airport bus & metro breakfast was good
Cons: The carpets in the hallways were stained, as was the room plus the curtains were marked,
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The location cannot be beat. You are right in the middle of most of the main attractions. The breakfast is very good.
Cons: The shower was a bit small in my room, and the bed was a little too firm, but other than that it wa an excellent hotel.
9,4 Excellent
Pros: - great location: next to Syntagma square, all the main tourist places are within walking distance - great breakfast: very good variety of savoury and sweet dishes, - Nice, large, clean and comfortable room: room and hotel are well maintained
Cons: - we booked a double room and added "double bed" in our request, but for some reason, it was not communicated to the hotel (too many intermediary agents?) - so we were given twin room. The hotel was full and couldn't change our room. Make sure to email the hotel directly after booking!
9,0 Excellent
Pros: The location is perfect
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very recommended
7,0 Good
Pros: Breakfast is amazing Location is superb It was quite clean They put little choclate bars when they clean the room
Cons: The rooms was very hot! - the AC is working only on heat , so if you want to cool the room , you need to open the window and hear all the cahos of the street. We received a big double bed but it was actually two seperated beds connected- therfore it wasnt comfortable at all. I even had back pains . Toilet was not flushing well. Several light bulbs wasnt working No complementry water.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, nice breakfast
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location at Syntagma Square, convenient for the Metro and buses from and to the airport and everywhere. Very clean room and public areas. Good sized room, although the bathroom was small. Excellent breakfast buffet (except for orange juice) with great choice: English breakfast enriched with Greek choices like local cheeses, bougatsa and halvas and the option for guests to brew their own Greek coffee. Good service in the ground floor lobby.
Cons: The water pressure in the shower is too low for a proper shower. The bathroom size seems small for the size of the room. Despite an otherwise excellent breakfast buffet, one has to ask for orange juice that is only served at the tables; if one can attract a waiter's attention, that is. The waiters at breakfast were scarce and uninterested in the guests, did not clear dirty dishes off tables and took forever to clear used tables. The position of the TV in the room not convenient for watching TV in bed. Insufficient light in the room, no overhead lights. This was made worse by the fact that one has to unplug the bedside bed lamp in order to plug in a phone charger.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: The location is exceptional from the one side the Acropolis and from the other Licavitos , the personnel was very friendly. Thank you for the lovely stay.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Outstanding breakfast. Perfect location - close to transportation and neighborhood packed with restaurants.

Overview Reviews
With a stay at Herodion Athens, you'll be centrally located in Athens, just a 3-minute walk from Acropolis Museum and 6 minutes by foot from Odeon of Herodes Atticus. Featured amenities include a 24-hour business center, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk.
6,8 Good
Pros: The lobby was beautiful with artistic wire statues and a bar/restaurant with trees growing through it. The staff is very professional and tries to be very helpful (though both times I stayed at the hotel there was not a doorman to greet me and carry my luggage up the steps). Gorgeous rooftop bar and a nice jacuzzi area on the floor below it.
Cons: We stayed at the hotel 2 nights--one at the beginning of our trip and one at the end. The first room we had at the beginning of our trip literally reminded me of a hostel I'd once stayed at--the bed was a hard board looking thing with a gross looking red coverlet (not even a comforter). We also did not get one bed but instead, two twins pushed together. When I returned on the last leg of my trip I mentioned this but they only had one room left and put me in an equally bad room (only after accidentally giving me the key to an occupied room). This room at least had better beds and bedding but because it was on the first floor, it had no natural sunlight (blocked by the building) and made me feel as if I was staying in someone's basement. It was also a smaller room than the first and we struggled to find a place out of the way to put both of our suitcases. The air conditioner also leaked water. It's a shame--beautiful hotel but sadly the rooms are not up to par. Perhaps at $200 US dollars/night I didn't spend enough to get a nice room?
8,0 Excellent
Pros: The location was great. Close to restaurants and tourist areas.
Cons: Breakfast was okay but expected a bit more for the price.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great value for money, well located close to the Acropolis, nice common areas and pleasant breakfast room. Rooms are well equipped and very clean.
Cons: Bathroom a bit dated, but very clean. No issues. Room had no view, but for the money, more than acceptable.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Efficiency on my short business stay
9,1 Excellent
Pros: The location of the hotel is great, with easy access to the Acropolis, Acropolis Museum and the Acropolis Metro. Make sure to ask for an outside facing room as some rooms can be small and cramped. The downstairs lobby area is very nice with a good atmosphere to sit and talk or to read/write.
Cons: Sometimes the rooms can be cramped and dark. Sometimes cab drivers can't locate it, but just tell them to drop you off by the Acropolis Museum and you can navigate it easily.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: This is the perfect location for exploring Athens. Safe Street, restaurants and shopping nearby, immediately adjacent to the modern and magnificent Acropolis museum. Staff were friendly and accommodating. The rooms were very quiet and the rooftop view of the Acropolis is spectacular.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Pretty much everything. Comfortable rooms, very pleasant and helpful staff, bar area and lounge welcoming , restaurant good, lovely breakfast in bright dining room. Fab location just 5 mins from entrance to Acropolis hill, Plaka , and its many restaurants and cafes. But just far enough back to be quiet too.
Cons: I cant think of what more they could have done!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful breakfast, many choices. OUTSTANDING STAFF!!!! From the front desk, to the wait staff, bartenders, housekeepers, drivers --all exceptional!!!
Cons: Nothing - all exceeded my expectations!!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing view of the Acropolis from the top floor outside bar, would love to have sat up here in the summer. Atrium dining and lounge area were beautifully decorated and welcoming. Loved the location and easy to get to the things we came to see in Athens. The area felt very safe, compared to other parts of Athens we could have chosen to stay in. Thank you for a lovely stay!
Cons: Rooms maybe did not reflect the attention to detail of the main part of the hotel. Balcony had cracked glass. Maids came into the rooms 2 or 3 times on some days.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was great and the breakfasts were the best.

This hotel has 22 square feet (2.000 square meters) of space consisting of a conference center and a meeting room. A roundtrip airport shuttle is available for a surcharge.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We like the spaciousness of this hotel, which is very comfortable and has nice extras (big rooftop pool with amazing view, proper gym with good equipment), large rooms with nice beds and super welcoming staff. We usually stay here when in Athens visiting family. It’s great value for money and with the new museums opening up around the corner, and lovely restaurants like ‘CTC’ only one street away, in addition to their own new restaurant, the location keeps getting better and better.
Cons: On the second day we had a smoking neighbour in the room next door (and we didn’t like the smell of that in the hallway). But the staff had absolutely no problem moving us to another wing of the hotel in a clean new room, when we came home late at night and they were totally relaxed about our sensitivities here. This was really appreciated! (Smoking is not permitted of course, that neighbour was breaking the rules, this was not the fault of the hotel...)
7,5 Good
Pros: Very clean,I checked in earlier and they helped me
Cons: Sometimes the staff can be more polity
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel is not very far from the metro station from where you can go directly from and to the airport and many major sites. Great breakfast with good choice of everything. Pool and fitness zone with great view working even in winter.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Large rooms and comfy beds. Great views great staff and great food ! Great value for money. Parking a bit expensive. 25€ every night.
Cons: Parking charge and breakfast area.
9,1 Excellent
Pros: I was on a tour. The first night was on me. very good room and this extended to second night. Off i went on the tour and returned for last night. This room was very small and nothing like the first night. There was painting and construction on floor and we had to pass through this to get to the room. The hotel did call to let me know about the length of work and offered a new room. I was too tired to move. They did send up a lovely tray of fruit and bottle water. I think the size of the room was picked by the tour not the hotel. The staff was great.
Cons: The business center. Not personal at all. I walked in asking about the getting a boarding pass. The lady pointed to the computer. I explained that I was not knowledgeable about computers. I was told to key in my airline and follow instructions. No help. She was not busy. I guest I look like a tourist and not a business person.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Our family enjoyed the rooftop pool as a wonderful break from sightseeing, and the included breakfast far exceeded expectations !!
4,2 Okay
Cons: I had asked for a quiet room, unfortunately the room was nothing but quiet

9,0 Excellent
Pros: From start to finish we had a wonderful stay at The Plaka Hotel. Staff could not have been more knowledgeable or helpful... Particularly a dark haired, guest-relations lady. Our flight out got cancelled, so we had to contact the hotel to cancel the first night of our stay and book a night on the end of the trip instead. The hotel got back to us almost immediately to say this was possible. It really put our mind at ease. Furthermore, breakfast was well presented and plentiful. Rooms were clean, serviced daily and the lift worked. Above all for us though, the view from the roof-top bar was just as good as they had promised on the website. The location of the hotel meant we never had to take any form of transport other than the metro/bus to/from the airport. Was very impressed with this hotel.
Cons: There was very little to complain about. I'm being really picky in saying the window in the room had a dodgy lock. Also, the shower leaked.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: The room was very nice and the bathroom also. I also liked the view from the rooftop and the option to order a variety of drinks there. The receptionist and was very helpful and helped us with everything we needed. Breakfast was fine. The location of the hotel is excellent.
Cons: The view from our room was partly on the wall of the house. I missed apple juice at breakfast, but it's not very important. The only real problem with the hotel is the elevator. Sometimes you wait a long time for the elevator to reach your floor. An elevator for 3-4 people is really very small for such a large hotel.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great roof bar with view of Acropolis. Also in a central location to tourist stuff.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great location in Athens with restaurants, shops and the Acropolis all right outside your door. The rooftop terrace provides amazing views day and night. The included breakfast was nice and coffee/water were available throughout the day. Great staff too.
Cons: There is only one elevator and it is very small. We ended up using the stairs frequently.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: This is a respectable hotel, that gives good basic services to it's guests. It's overall advantage is it's location. Stay at Plaka Hotel and all of Athens is easily available to you.
Cons: I have nothing to complain about.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The Plaka Hotel is the best place to stay in Athens. It is centrally located and has a spectacular view of the Acropolis from the rooftop patio. It is close walking distance to the major tourist sites, shops and restaurants. Staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and have air conditioning. Breakfast is a must do in the morning. While enjoying your delicious breakfast, you can get friendly information and advice from your hostess. First week of May is a perfect time to visit Athens. Temperature is around 24C to 27C. Visit the National Archaeological Museum (10 Euros) and Athens Academy of Arts if you like to take pictures of statues. Laundry service is also available.
8,2 Excellent
Pros: The friendliness of the staff and how helpful they were all the time; they gave us tips to move around and help us to keep our luggage even when we've already checked out. The hotel is well located with many important places (most-visited historic attractions) at walking distance; also great was having a convenient small market next door where we could get fruits, beverages, baked goods, etc. The breakfast were very good, as well as the views from the roof lounge.
Cons: The maze of streets – if you're driving a car there, it is hard to park and easy to get lost in the many one-direction streets.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Clean, comfortable and convenient
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Location was perfect, walking distance to all the main sights of Athens. The view from the window of the Acropolis was stunning! The bed was big and really comfortable. Bathroom & shower ok, nice toiletries. Large selection at breakfast buffet, and being able to help ourselves to coffee throughout the day was a nice touch. Staff were friendly and helpful. Good value for somewhere so central.
Cons: The room was a bit dark, lighter colour walls and perhaps a mirror in the bedroom would improve this. However, this was more than made up for with the amazing view, the best view I’ve ever had from a hotel bedroom!
9,0 Excellent
Pros: View from rooftop bar area
Cons: Restaurant area a little small if all guests want breakfast at the same time
8,0 Excellent
Pros: View on Acropolis! Kind staff!
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Staff were Excellent
Cons: Room was a little small and tv didn’t work

Pros: The room was well-equipped for the business traveller: very good WiFi connection, a big desk, etc. Breakfast was really good.
Cons: Suprisingly poor selection of TV channels. The only sports channel (guessing by its name) was a radio one and it was in Greek. :)

Location was close enough to metro that going to the main sites was really easy (normally only one stop). Bedrooms were a very good overall size and i belive they all had a small balcony area. The hotel as a whole was very clean also.
Cons: Sadly the area the hotel is located was a bit more on the rougher side and you do have to be weary of thieves. Breakfast was also slightly limited and bacon was stored touching vegetarian options.

Pros: Close to a newer area of cafes and bars. Also where my Congress was. View on Lycabettus and acropolis from the room. Nice rooftop. Kind employees willing to help. Bed was comfortable.
Cons: Breakfast was uninteresting and café was really bad. Too little choices and not enough quality served for the price. My room was in front of the lift and it was noisy with people going in and out and the lifts beeping when anybody calls them. Shower silicone joints were worn and mouldy.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: The genuine friendliness of all the staff.
8,8 Excellent
Cons: Noise coming from the adjacent room.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel was excellent value for money. Room more spacious for the rate paid. 5 stars Room comfort.Room service amazing. Excellent Breakfast on the 9th floor with a brilliant view of the Acropolis. Overall enjoyed the stay.
Cons: Location was not ideal for me. Strangely enough, it is an excellent 5 stars hotel but not in the safest area in Athens.
9,7 Excellent
Pros: The property on the inside was awesome, on the outside... surroundings...I was not impressed.
Cons: 1. We chose this hotel ONLY because the Kayak info said a "hotel shuttle" is available. We wanted to be close to the airport to fly out the next morning. We thought we would save the expense of a taxi to and from the airport. There was no shuttle. When we call the hotel, they told us no such thing as a shuttle. They would only arrange to send me a taxi @ €45.00. And this could only be arranged via email...not over the ph. We simply took a cab to the hotel # €43.00. To the airport the next morning...no shuttle. We took a taxi @ €44.00. If you people do no have a shuttle like we are use to in the US...do not mislead innocent pepole like us. That is false advertising. The availability of a shuttle in the ONLY reason why we picked this hotel. 2. At the front desk I changed out some US$ for € after checking in. We plan to do some last minute shopping before we fly out the next day. What we did not know was that, that very day was a national holiday (the Verging Mary Holiday ) all the stores were closed. On checking out the next morning they would not take back the € currency. I told them that we did not know that there was a holiday. They said they can't take it back. That was just not right. These 2 things has left a bitter taste in my mouth. I am not a happy camper...especially with the shuttle issue. That was flat out wrong. You can't say that there is a shuttle when there is none. People from the US is use to taking a free shuttle ride to and from the airport to hotels and rent a car locstions.

Pros: Wonderful and amazing stay in the hotel ... with a beautiful view from the roof terrace on Acropolis, with a possibility to have lunch/dinner there, or just a small drink. :) Everything was great - enough space in the room, - possibility to make tea or coffee in the room, - clean - perfect breakfast (with every basic meal type for the morning ...), with good coffee ... Many historical monuments, including Acropolis, are approached by walk, they are magnificent!
