Beds are not very comfortable
The breakfast was included so I didn’t expect much. There was mostly breads, then they had a bowl of cut fruit, plain yogurt, one type of cereal, juice and coffee. The staff were very nice and helpful. I mentioned to the girl at the desk when I checked in late evening that I didn’t like the family room I was given (all that was left when I booked), because the old barely working A/C was in the child’s room (had tacky Mickey and Minnie Mouse stickers above beds) and not the adult room so It didn’t cool the rooms. They were fully booked so she apologized but nothing she could do. I spent time in the lobby where it was cooler and she ended up letting me know there was a cancellation and she’d switch rooms for me. Much appreciated.
The parking is along front of hotel building on a dark street, doesn’t feel safe unless you get the spots in front of lobby. I had no problems however. The hotels WiFi is almost non-existent. I couldn’t get it working in the room which is another reason I spent time in the lobby and even there it was at most 2 bars, weak signal. Ok for texts but not much internet surfing. The place is outdated looking with old furniture, mold on shower heads, have to ask at desk for a hairdryer (can’t afford at 90€/weekend night?), A/C units and TVs are near 30 years old. They keep pillows in closet instead of on bed.; not hygienic considering other people stored their luggage and clothes in there. I’d expect this quality for 30€ here - so way over priced until they do major renovations.
I found some crawling insects in the bedroom (Bicho cadela - Ear wigs).
The Staff (expect cleaning ladies) and the location
I just wanted to sleep, but at 07:30 start a huge noise. Some noises I could not understand where they were coming from (but not from the outside of the building). And also the cleaning ladies talking out loud between each other on a Sunday early morning (07:00 until 08.00 where I decided to get off the bed and talk to them).
The breakfast was nice, may be not very reach but normal and sufficient. Location was very nice, we saw Alcobaca's Monastery from our window. We parked the car just in front of the hotel.
