This place is excellent. Friendly, easy going environment. It was perfect for me. Now I have a place for renting if I am back in Albany.
Nothing, all was perfect for me.
The staff person was friendly and helpful. The self-serve breakfast offered lots of wholesome and delicious choices. The room was a bit quirky, as the building is so old. We appreciated having newspapers provided at breakfast. The recommended tour of the capitol building exceeded expectations.
The neighbourhood was run-down and sketchy, though there is an attractive park facing the hotel. We ate at a recommended Chinese restaurant, and found the food disappointing.
The apartment was charming, comfortable, and had thoughtful accommodations
Our dream was to stay in a B&B. Upon our arrival, we were shuffled out of the main house, and into a building 6 down from the B&B. We were told we could come & go as we pleased. That’s great, but that’s not what we signed up for. So much for staying at a B&B a part of my partners 60th birthday celebration. Very disappointed!
Beautiful place, good location. Large room, well decorated. Great atmosphere
Bathroom very tired, shower flow poor
Nice Continental breakfast and garden.
The web site has beautiful pictures; however, upon checking in I learned our room was in the annex two doors down. The annex at 399 State St is at best described as an old eight story building with eight room a floor. The building was probably built in the early 1900’s. The hallway carpet was threadbare; the bathroom was very small and antiquated by today standards (door would not even close correctly); and the window air conditioner could not adequately cool the room. Also, not noted on the web site, is that there is no staff on the premises after 7 pm.
