Pros: Attentive personnel, lovely swimming pool

Cons: Our room was facing the road which was quite noisy in the morning time. There is construction ongoing next to the hotel and they starred to drill/hammer at 7 am which was quite irritating

Pros: The best asset of the Hotel are the Spa facilities, the solarium, sauna and indoor pool. The Restaurant is also good, the best in the area and, probably, one of the best of Friedrischafen. The fan at the room was incredibly silent and effective. The TV channels including Netflix. The cleanliness of the room and the whole facilities The car park included in the room price. But last and most importantly, what I appreciated more was the very good customer service and extremely attention from the staff. I appreciate very much they provided us with a very quiet room as I requested.

Cons: I did not like at all the glass door with the bathroom. I have seen this in other modern hotels and understand this is a fashion but it is not practical at all. The sliding door is noisy which at night is very annoying and does not seal the smells from the bathroom. Another issue could be the lack of A/C. Although the fan is excellent, I understand that for very hot days could not be sufficient and you may miss to have air conditioning. Also, there are some rooms close to the street that could be a bit noisy early in the morning which is an issue if you come over the Hotel for resting. And, finally, some other little details like for example, the towels quality or the pillows...are not at the level I would expect for a 4 star hotel. Nevertheless, as a balance score, I definetively would recommend this Hotel.

Pros: Friendly, helpful, personal and welcoming staff. Modern design and great facilities. The indoor pool is nice, the two saunas were really outstanding.

Cons: NO AIR CON!!we stayed during the mega heat wave and although they provided a good fan it was to hot.Also the out door “natural pool” really looks more like a pond!!if they cleaned it up (I know it states natural but there was more life in it than my pond at home)it could be lovely.

Pros: The food was fabulous! Both at dinner and at breakfast. The pools, indoor and outdoor, along with the sauna, were great.

Cons: The room was uncomfortably hot! I‘ve lived in Germany long enough to not expect air conditioning, but the room didn‘t even have a fan to blow the air around. As my room was on the top floor, I‘m sure that made it even worse. Plus, the in-room fridge barely kept drinks below room temperature; in other words, it hardly worked at all, so you couldn‘t even get a cold drink to cool off.

Pros: Great location, confortable, very good breakfast, very good spa. The staff is very professional, friendly and helpfull.

Pros: We enjoyed the pool wich was bigger than expected. There is also a Sauna but it was always full so we didn’t get to try it. Location was great with fast access to the lake. Breakfast was very good. The staff was very nice and helpful. Rooms were clean and big !

Cons: Rooms were very very noisy. We could hear people walking and making noise in the corridors. Also every morning at 7 and every night until 10, we were hearing the bells of the church just in front of the hotel ! And they are ringing every hours for 5-10 minutes, it was exhausting. The beds were not comfortable, so it made the nights long and the experience not so relaxing for us. We feel more tired than before after theses 3 nights.. The hotel parking was so full we only get to park there one day ouf of 3, and had to go park at a much more expensive one down the street (15€ per day instead of 8 at the hotel.) It felt unfair and frustrating especially when people were parked so badly, taking the space for two cars, (even though they ask for you license plate number at check in (then they should tell people to park decently or make them pay for two spots !!!))

Pros: Breakfast is great and enough choice. Although I arrived when it was dark already I do think this is a nice area to have a short walk. The lady was also super friendly. Room is super big and the WiFi isn't that slow as they say. I was here for work, but if you are on a holiday this is also a superb hotel.

Cons: The walls are kind of thin as I could hear my neighbour coughing. There aren't many places around the area to have dinner

Pros: Landhaus Vier Jahreszeiten was much better than we expected!! Beautifully decorated , modern conveniences, very friendly staff, very clean and quiet. Breakfast was great and the dining room was so cozy it almost felt like home! A great place to stay. Recommend it highly!!!

Pros: You need a car to get the hotel because it is out the town but when you enter the hotel you feel at home .The room was excelent and the breakfast very good.

Pros: The spa section is really nice after a days work! They also have an excellent restaurant, which is a bit pricey for every day meals, but once in a while it's really worth it!

Cons: The room I ended up in is in the old part of the building, so the rooms are not so up to date...

Pros: Breakfast was very very good. The swimming pool and the spa area, is completely new, spacious, and confortable. (Water could be a little warmer though) the location is also perfect, the village is very quiet.

Cons: Apart from the guys form the bar that were awesome, all other staff I interacted with was not very friendly, they were professional, but not helpful. Beds could be more confy.

Pros: Variety of breakfast was great and we enjoyed it very much. The room interior was classical and luxury atmosphere, and the bathroom was modern and well functioning, and it was very comfortable for us.

Pros: For a relatively small town, prices are surprisingly high in Ravensburg, and Gasthof Engel is not exactly cheap either. But compared to other hotels of this category, the Engel has much nicer rooms, great beds, excellent bathrooms and a really fine breakfast. Among the higher class hotels in Ravensburg, this is definitely the best deal.

Cons: There are a few things that are not ideal, but that's nothing the hotel can change. It's located right at the biggest city square, and if you like to keep the windows open at night, the noise can have a bit of an effect on your sleep. But I don't know any hotel in Ravensburg that is not affected by this. And it's moderate, most of the time. Another thing - the kitchen of the restaurant that is part of Gasthof Engel is as busy as the food is good. It's an historic building, and the smells travel a little. But they are really trying to keep this at a minimum. So it is a factor in the hallways, hardly ever in the rooms themselves.

Cons: No lift. Room on the third floor. No help with the luggage for an old couple. Some unfriendly staff. On the booking confirmation we were promised a safe and a telephone. Neither could be found. Two lamps did not work. Worst of all: there is no escape route in case of fire except the narrow staircase. The room is under the roof of an old building with lots of timber.

Pros: The breakfast room has such a nice atmosphere, you feel at home immediately. And the guest rooms are very special with old furniture, reflecting the South of Germany well.

Pros: My mum and I stayed at the Obertor for a week. We were given a family room (a double bedroom, living room and a bunkbed/luggage room) which was a really nice surprise. It was so good to have the extra space to relax in, rather than having just the one room. The hotel is very well located, with restaurants, shops and museums close by - and we had a great view onto the main street. The decor is charming and everything was extremely clean and well cared for. All the staff were very friendly and extremely helpful.. The breakfast buffet was fantastic! A lovely selection of cheese, eggs, cold meats, smoked salmon, vegetables, cereals, yoghurts, jams, breads, coffee, teas, juices - just perfect! Free Wifi (although a bit patchy at times) Free car parking is available at the back of the hotel for hotel guests. Highly recommend!

Cons: There is no AC - It did get quite hot at night, so AC would have been a welcome addition for a cooler night's sleep! There is no lift - Those with difficulties climbing stairs, should request a ground/first floor room.

Cons: Receptionist thinks I don't know how to rent room. When my friend went to use bathroom in my room. Receptionist was rude and yelling that the room is only for one person. Its annoying and rude.

Cons: We had the unfortunate incident that while we were still sleeping the cleaning staff entered the room without knocking. Very inappropriate!

Pros: Well, the best value for money in the city, Close to the city center and is not expensive. I was welcomed by a receptionist lady, who was kind and attentive to me, saying everything with a real smile - pleasant experience. The room was clean and with welcome candies on a pillow. Sweet :) What was really surprising is that I could have drinks from the reception for free, and also there was a water cooler with three types of water (still, medium carbonated and high carbonated) and it was also for free. I didn't event expect such a service here. Unfortunately, I couldn't stay here longer than for one night, but I will definitely come back.

Cons: For the first time absolutely no negative sides. Maybe... I just noticed that the reception was closed after 18:00, and if you arrive late it might be a problem. But I didn't try - I came earlier. Anyway, it makes sense to check this with the hotel in advance.

Pros: Very good breakfast. Complimentary drinks and water fountain with sparkling water available 24/7.

Cons: The room was very small and hot. There was no place to store clothes.

Cons: - No ac in the room, no mosquito net. - They never changed towels/sheets, although I stayed for 8 nights there. Staff (except for one young blonde employee - she was really welcoming and nice, sorry don't know your guys names) was very rude, especially a woman with the short hair. I have stayed in lots of different hotels for work and leisure in my life, but have NEVER experienced someone at the hotel to yell at me because I asked them to order a taxi for me. I had a business dinner at the hotel, and my partners were very unpleasantly surprised with this woman's behavior as well. I don't want to be mean, but if you have this kind of manners, I don't think the hospitality industry is for you. I apologize for this negativity, usually don't leave reviews like that, but this case was something extraordinary, would like other people (both hotel management and future guests at Hotel Gerbe) to know about that. These interactions left a very bad impression about staying at this hotel :(

Pros: Typical “German” building surrounded by nature. The room was spacious. The housekeeper, the bartender and the ladies at breakfast were nice.

Cons: The lady with grey short hair - whom I assume is the owner- was jaw-dropping RUDE. First at the restaurant she gave me a table (I was by myself) then asked me to move somewhere else and, to my surprise, it was a shared table! The burger at the bar is not a burger, it’s a STEAK (they call it roastbeef but it was 2inchea high) in a burger bun. I couldn’t even cut the steak with a knife, let alone eat it in a burger!!! When I explained the “owner” she replied “this is not burger king!” - UNBELIEVABLE. As a result I never ate again at the “restaurant”. Upon checkout, always the “owner” asked me to pay with cash, to which I replied I preferred to pay by card cause I might need cash for the taxi. She asked how much I had cash and where I needed to go, cause apparently I would have had enough cash left - I said I would prefer paying by card regardless, so she abruptly threw the cash purse away and took the payment by card with a very appalled manner. I was expecting a family owned (BEAUTIFUL AND CLEAN) hotel would pay even more attention and care to the guests than a chain hotel but I couldn’t have been more WRONG. Never again.

Pros: The Seehotel is mt favorite destination in Friedrichshafen. I stay there 2 to 3 times a year when I can get in. It's location is perfect and allows me to stay in town without the need of renting a car which is a big plus.

Cons: I would like to be able to check out without having to go to the front desk unless I have a special request. I would also like to get an email receipt without a special request. Most hotels inn the US do this and it's ver convenient and no paper is needed.

Pros: This is a modern hotel with good facilities. The staff were excellent, friendly and helpful and generally spoke good English for a bonus. Rooms were clean and functional (modern), breakfast was pretty good as well. The hotel is situated in a good location, just across the road from the lakeside and about 10 mins walk from the Zeppelin museum and close to a number of very good restaurants. There is a hotel car park, under the hotel, convenient but a bit cramped for larger cars.

Cons: The bar is surprisingly small for a hotel this size, and sits to one side of the Reception lobby and so has zero atmosphere. I just would not bother with using the hotel bar as there are numerous bars and cafes close by and on the lakeside.

Pros: Location and rooms were large.

Cons: I was put on the 5th floor with no elevator access and I was not informed. Wifi on this floor almost never worked. Many things need some painting to look top quality. Because there were large groups could not even eat in the restaurant because the groups had priority.

Pros: The hotel is literally steps from the train station, my room was clean and quiet and had peek-a-boo views of the lake which, happily, was also just a stroll from the hotel---perfect for long lovely walks.

Cons: The grumpy owner, who never smiled. We said hello, no reply, good morning the next day, no reply. Never seen such a grumpy man with a glasses. He didn't even offer to assist us with our bags and ignored us when we asked him where to keep our bikes. The room is OK but the mattress is uncomfortable.

Pros: Room was very nice and spacious (two-floors! bed on to, couch and bathroom on bottom). Balcony was a nice addition. Nice breakfast.

Cons: A bit isolated, nearest region bahn station is about 4km away and Friendrichshafen center is even further (fine if you drive or bike but not convenient otherwise). wifi Internet connection was bad in our room (fine in restaurant)

Cons: There is problem with parking. I had to park far away from hotel on a public street. Although I parked on an allowed place, not blocking, I found notice on window, that it is not parking place. This can be major obstacle for me in future.

Pros: Great location, near the lake. The hotel is very nice, the room was clean and cool. There is a restaurant in the hotel, which served really nice food. Breakfast was really nice as well, with lots of choice. The staff were helpful and friendly.

Cons: The parking situation was a little bit difficult as all the parking spaces in front of the hotel were taken. I managed to park in a quiet side street, so it wasn’t too much of a problem.

Pros: Location was very convenient to public access to the lake shore. Good for people traveling with pets who want to play in the water with them. We booked a traditional double room which was plenty spacious and well appointed with a double bed and couch which could be pulled out if needed.

Cons: The room while clean and spacious was located on the third floor which made it awkward for people (especially tall persons) who prefer to take a shower. There is a 15EUR per dog per night payment supplement- this is higher than most hotels I have stayed at. I don’t understand the per dog since the cleaning is the same...

Pros: Conveniently located for public transport to the airport. Good breakfast available.

Cons: The hotel is close to a busy street and the rooms are regular but not exceptional. While we only stayed for one night, we wouldn't go back, given the high price, which is not in line with the comfort.

Cons: Was difficult parking because at the moment there are renovation works and the parking place was reduced. No backup solution was able as we arrivate late at the hotel and all available parking slots were occupied.
