The hotel is situated on a hill a bit out of the town, surrounded by pine woods. Very green and relaxing atmosphere, excellent for people with children or those who look for a quiet holiday. Secured parking available on the spot, free of charge. Pools were clean and water was warm, room was cleaned every second day and towels were changed. It was never crowdy in the SPA area. Breakfast was OK. Down the hill you find the Kleptuza lake with a nice park and some food places - easy to reach as there is a staircase.
The only thing we didn't like was the food in the restaurant, besides the breakfast. We tried several things at noon and dinner, but none was really tasty, yet I feel it was quite overprised. I recommend to have food in the restaurant right on the back of the train station, across Kleptuza park, or somewhere in the centre (Tom & Nazi was good; Rodopsko selo looked nice, though we didn't try it). I also feel that the quality of bed linen and towels should be better for a four star hotel. Finally, for people without a car this could be a bit inconvenient as the hotel is far from the centre, but that wasn't our case.
We stayed at this hotel for a weekend in the second half of July 2010. The hotel is located out of the town on a peaceful green hill. If you like to go to restaurants and bars in the town, you’d better come by car. Our room was Standard Double Room with a balcony at the second floor. It was a little bit pricy for the Bulgarian life standard. It was small, but very cosy and quiet. It had a nice relaxing view to a green pine-tree forest. The furniture was new, nice and convenient. The bathroom - too. Both were very clean like the whole hotel, the swimming pools and the adjacent park. The hotel staff was very helpful, polite and ready to fulfill every wish of ours. The pools were suitable for swimming – 25m, the water wasn’t too hot , and the pools weren’t overcrowded on the contrary to many pools in other Velingrad hotels. The breakfast was basic, but tasty and sufficient. We had no time to try the SPA. We’ll definitely return and recommend it to all searching for relaxation and rest.
The room was a little bit pricy for the Bulgarian life standard. All the rest was really fine.
Position, termal swimming pool, confort of the room
Nobody of the staff able to understand 1 word in English, Spanish, French or Italian ... we couldn't even prolong our stay for 1 day more due to the impossibility of communicate!!
Overall good value for money, especially compared to the nearby hotels of a similar standard. Very good spa procedures and massages.
Nobody speaks English, the breakfast could be better and some waiters are not really service oriented. But a lot of the staff is trying to fulfill your requests.
