Pros: The outside restaurant was in the shade under the trees which was great as it was so hot. The food for breakfast, lunch, dinner was lovely. The loungers and hammocks under the trees made it a really relaxing place to be. The beach was small but beautiful and it was good to be a bit away from the crowds of Varkala. The room and veranda were very comfortable. The staff went out of their way to be as helpful as possible.

Pros: Best place to stay in Varkala beach. Its right at the beach and the scenery is amazing. The staff was very kind and helpful. The apartment was spacious and clean, with a great view. Food was also very nice. We highly recommend this place to everyone!

Pros: Absolutely fabulous find - reviews are spot on. Beautiful location - quiet, close to the sea, a short walk from many restaurants. Restaurant on site for residents only. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Such a warm welcome from the team there and nothing was too much trouble throughout our stay. Thank you, we’ll be back!

Pros: Maadathil Cottages are a wonderful place for some days to hangout. If you want to avoid the touristic hotspot Varkala beach with all their shops and sellers, choose this place at Odayam beach just 1 km up North. Staff is super friendly, the cottages are located in a garden with green shadow, and have sea View. Take a walk to Kappil beach! And maybe a fantastic Kerala massage at Doctors Ayurveda nearby. Enjoy!

Cons: Unfortunately they had a leak above our room on the first night that lead to banging and works to fix, till 1 in the morning would of been nice if they had apologized after but was never mentioned, also thought that the food in hotel although nice was a little expensive European priced, we were there on our honeymoon as a treat and no touches were put on unlike the rest of the hotels we visited felt like they preferred the older clients

Pros: A good price for a hotel with decent size pool near the cliff area. Good breakfast buffet included in the price & restaurant staff very accommodating. Comfortable beds! Easy walk to the buzzy cliff area.
Cons: It rained heavily when we visited & had to wade through a ‘lake’ in the road out front to get to the cliff area or catch a tuk tuk over it. People swimming fully clothed in the pool. The shower in our room was a bit of a dribble & hardly hot water. Staff had to be asked to clean our room on the first day there.

Cons: The bed size was rather small and the bed didn't face the TV directly as it was tilted a wee bit due to design of the room . And the name " Beach resort" is a misnomer as the hotel is 5-6 mins away from the beach and not visible from it .

Pros: It has a good location being close to the cliff but far enough away to be quiet and peaceful. Lovely well kept gardens, room was clean and comfortable and I would say in need of a little updating or refreshing but it looks as though that is in progress in some of the rooms. Pool area is well kept and organised and I find the staff helpful and courteous. There are a few fixtures around the hotel which need updating or removing ie disused rather ugly water features and some of the poolside furniture could do with updating and more sun beds as they fill up quickly. I say this more for the information of management than for the info of guests. On the whole it’s a very good hotel, well run. Comfortable and clean with a great pool and a really good lactation where you can rest peacefully at night in a safe quiet environment.

Cons: Often there is no administrator in place, you have to wait. The waiters serve the poolside for a long time. The pool is closed after 18:00 pm. A lot of older couples.

Cons: A bit more info in the room or in reception about the ‘rules’ - eg house-keeping is by request but that wasn’t very clear (although once requested, room was cleaned meticulously daily). Sun beds are a little tired but not a massive issue.

Perfect for families. The new villas had just been renovated and looked really great. We stayed in a cheaper room, a bit small however perfect for the price.
