Pros: We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and the hotel gave a warm surprise by decorating the room with ballons and flower petals - we were truly impressed and shows the high quality of the hotel in paying attention to the details. The facilities are excellent on a nice property next to the lake in Udaipur.

Cons: The standard of guests coming to the hotel has changed. Found a lot of people abusing the property. Going into the places where one would not be allowed previously. Guests were using the phones and talking loudly on the speaker in the hotel area. This should not be allowed as it disturbs other guests, who have come for peace and quiet in the Oberoi Vilas properties.

The facilities are excellent on a nice property next to the lake in Udaipur.
Cons: We were not allowed to bring in a bottle of champagne that I had with me to celebrate the anniversary dinner at the hotel - a bit disappointed but did not detract from the good things about the hotel.

Pros: This place is incredible. Firstly, make sure you ask for the tour to see all there is to explore. The former palace has been restored with such great taste and strikes the perfect balance of preserving key traditional elements and providing that clean modern minimal look. Superb design. It’s a great place to escape the city, something that is really welcome in India, which can be quite intense at times. The area is so quiet and surrounded by greenery, a true oasis. And it is a luxury that the average traveller can afford, as opposed to the majority of similar hotels in the major cities. The area with the pool & jacuzzi is amazing, and the water is an ideal temperature. We spent a day of our honeymoon here and we just had the most wonderful time. The staff is very friendly, attentive and takes great care of you. If I had to be really critical, I’d say there is some room for improvement in the food department (for the price, I would have expected just a little more, to be on par with the fantastic ambiance).

Pros: I have the chance to travel a lot worldwide and I must say that the Raas Devigarh hôtel is for sure one of the most beautiful and best hotel in the world. Amazing service ( reception, bar, restaurant / breakfast, swimming pool and housekeeping). The place is gorgeous, I congratulate the interior architect who did an amazing job, succeeded in introducing very beautiful contemporary furnitures without damaging an historical site. I strongly recommend this hotel ( silence and beauty ) A special thank to people at the reception for their good advices and warm welcome, our driver Anwar Hussain then Gagan and Abhijeet.

Cons: One thing I did not appreciate was the overpriced airport/city transfer. It feels like this hotel is taking advance of its remote location to the detriment of the customer. I understand a higher price tag on food, trips, spa treatments etc. in a luxury hotel, but a transfer is a transfer and 3400 INR as opposed to the real price of max 800 INR for a trip to the city or the airport is simply too much. I would recommend customers to book their own cab (Uber for getting there, and a local company works for the return). There was also a little misunderstanding regarding this on our way there, which created a slightly awkward situation, but was dealt with promptly.

Pros: We spent three nights here in November. When things were working as intended, we liked almost everything. We were upgraded from deluxe room to a villa, possibly because the hotel had a weekend booking for a large 2-day wedding and we were pleased: room and bathroom were large, clean, comfortable, well-furnished and mostly quiet despite the wedding. The pool was good sized with welcome loungers and the food as a whole was quite good, including the range of breakfast options, not least the tasty fresh-made omelettes. All staff we met were friendly and keen to be attentive and helpful.

Cons: The place is managed in minimum staff and they actively encourage you to have room service instead of eating in the restaurant to make life easier for them. All other facilities were limited so unless you went in a group or couple this place is not for you as this is a distance away from the main sight seeing.

Cons: The day we checked in our two year old Kid broken the their TV screen, as their TV was at very approachable distance from the height of a two year kid. Like a good and loyal guest we informed them, and we agree to pay a fair amount for the repair,since two days they showed us as if they agree to what we said but the half an hour before our checkout time they asked for 50000 as a repair charge, to which we asked them that we don't have that much and we can pay them 15000 as we expect is the reasonable charge for the repair but then they started arguing with us we were three ladies with three kids and no men. And when we were about to miss our train we paid them the whole amount. And this is not the end... They didn't even called the cab also which we asked to call two hours before... And the moment we paid them they started calling the cab... They didn't give any bill of our stay, just for the food they have the bill, rest they just asking for the money... At the end we reached two min before the departure of the train... Now comes with general review : Receptionist.... There is one on the reception who picks up the call doesn't know any language, English Hindi rajasthani.... As we have to call to the reception for everything including room service, food, anything. But they have a card showing different numbers for calling but none of them works... Next is food... Very very costly food. You request them for a cup of tea and they will bring the whole kettle filled with tea and will charge 300 Room... Room was spacious but no amenities were there in almirah... No bed cover... No complementary water bottles... No shower mat.. Very slippery shower area. Location... Very very remote location... No auto you will get to go somewhere from the hotel... No lighting outside the hotel on roads... Garden area... Only single swing is there forkids... No shower area near swimming pool... No counter for towels... No shade on the benches near pool...

The pool was good sized with welcome loungers and the food as a whole was quite good, including the range of breakfast options, not least the tasty fresh-made omelettes. All staff we met were friendly and keen to be attentive and helpful.
Cons: The hotel is let down by elements of its infrastructure being inadequate for the numbers of guests it tries to accommodate. In particular, hot water is "only available from 5 to 10 mornings and 5 to 10 evenings" but even then the pressure drops to a drizzle at the busiest times people choose to shower. Similarly, the WiFi works well most of the time, but once demand increases it fails, often for quite long periods. In a similar vein, the staff at breakfast can cope well when the restaurant is not very full but at the busy times they cannot manage the demands. All in all, the managers simply need to invest to improve these infrastructure elements, so that guests are not routinely left feeling frustrated. Then this hotel will represent really good value for money.
