Pros: The beautiful space and interiors And most importantly the service

Cons: The standard of guests coming to the hotel has changed. Found a lot of people abusing the property. Going into the places where one would not be allowed previously. Guests were using the phones and talking loudly on the speaker in the hotel area. This should not be allowed as it disturbs other guests, who have come for peace and quiet in the Oberoi Vilas properties.

Pros: Everything was fantastic and it's easily one of the best 5 star hotels we have stayed in. The staff were extremely courteous and helpful.

Cons: There was nothing not to like but if I have to nitpick, I would say that the breakfast quality especially the south indian menu could do with some improvement

Pros: Hospitality was amazing just like its expected out of Oberoi. Lots of personal touches and the spa was great. Location is excellent with beautiful views. They have two outdoor pools, one of them is just next to the spa which has a beautiful setting.

Cons: At dinner we ordered Dal Makhani which was really disappointing. And there is no outdoor restaurant.

Pros: The staff went above and beyond in making the anniversary for my husband and I even better than we could have imagined! Thank you

Pros: Superb, super attentive service, wonderful food service at restaurant, great swimming pool, good A/C

Cons: Poor sound insulation in the rooms: you will be awakened many times during the night by people passing in the corridor. Really disturbing. The hotel should out clear sign in the corridors that silence is required after 22h00. Same problem when parties take place on the grounds outside: poor sound insulation overall.

Pros: Absolutely top notch staff and delightful service. They went above and beyond on literally every interaction and request. Made us feel very cared for and special. They were especially brilliant with any requests to do with our baby.

Cons: Our stay was too short! On a serious note, quality of their local cuisine isn’t their strong suit but it’s not really a major complaint.

Pros: Absolutely awesome staff and service. Property is immaculate, well maintained, with an exotic feel. Calling out some of the staff which helped make our stay awesome - Vishal, Iswari, Rijol and Dinsehwar. Lot of things for the kids to do and great place to relax as well. Buffet spread is decent with all things catered to

Cons: Most of the amenities were somehow empty boxes. Squeaky sound coming out from air condition.

Pros: Great Location, great service, the team really goes out of their way to make you feel special. The rooms are excellent, well maintained, the pool is great, the gardens and lawns with peacocks walking around create a royal ambience

Pros: We were in a newly renovated room and it was very nicely done.

Cons: The hotel is under construction and won’t be finished until January 2020. The doors of each room are very thin so the building work can be heard very easily.

Pros: The location is perfect for a magnificent view of the floating palace and the lake and also convenient for enjoying the town and getting easily to restaurants. I loved being generously upgraded and the suite was outstandingly spacious and romantic and comfy. The breakfast around the pool was really great.

Cons: Not much! It was a bit confusing where breakfast was and i think we ended up breakfasting at the other hotel where the pool is, it would be good to make this an option anyway for those who go to swim at the other hotel

Pros: The location of the hotel is perfect and the facilities are new and modern.

Cons: The staff are not professional. I asked them to charge me in INR but I received the message from the bank that it was charged still in USD. I asked the staff to cancel and make a new payment. But they insisted that it was in INR....can't understand! Also the hotel has buggy service but I never see the driver!! Our room has been newly decorated the smell is strong. Other parts of the hotel are still under instruction and many workers are working around... The towels in the hotel are new clean sometimes there is a black spot on it.

Pros: This property is part of the city palace complex, apart from having truly amazing views of the lake, there are many tourist attractions within the Palace grounds. You also have access to the facilities of the Niwas Palace Hotel, and may even get to see members of the royal family moving about as their private Palace is also within the grounds. This was truly the highlight of my travels throughout India. I will certainly come back here again.

Pros: Beautiful decor and generally lovely service. We didn’t have a lake view room but didn’t feel like we missed out as there were lots of lovely places to sit and enjoy the view. Lovely food we had a dinner one evening and the breakfasts were very generous.

Cons: There was some miscommunication with a staff member on our last day. We arranged to hire the boat for a trip around the lake. We were told a different price to what it actually cost. The large boat was 15000 rupees for 45 minutes which is just extortionate. When we realised the mistake we cancelled the boat but were told we would have a cancellation fee. We decided to avoid the fee by hiring the smaller boat for 3500 rupees instead. It was a lovely boat trip but again we felt it was extremely over priced. A staff member insisted the 3,500 rupees for the boat had to be paid in cash as the 18% tax would not be included if so. However when we went to pay the bill it was included on the bill at 2,996 plus taxes to make the total of 3,500. When we queried it the two staff members squabbled amongst themselves and tried to downplay the taxes. We paid the amount as part of the card transaction however we felt there something going on to avoid tax and make money from us. The payment of the bills was highly confusing. We had individual invoices for each drink or food item ordered even though they were from the same meal. So having to go through each slip with items on with a calculator was quite a long unnecessary process. The bill was made even more confusing as on the main bill slip it had a different total to what we were required to pay. It also included a pre paid first night which we queried and they deducted. The two staff members were talking over each other and us and scribbling totals on pieces of paper. When my partner and I were checking through the calculations we were being spoken over by the staff members so we weren’t able to check through clearly together. The check out process was complex and drawn out and because of the confusion with all the different totals and calculations scribbled on paper it seemed really unprofessional considering the slick operation that we had encountered with the rest of the hotel.

Pros: The lake views from the restaurant and terrace are spectacular and surreal. The live music at breakfast was a special highlight for me, as it was a magical way to start the day.

Cons: There was at times a smell of sewage in the bathroom. Though this was likely not the hotel's fault, it did affect my experience somewhat. Also, the area around the hotel attracts very insistent touts who follow guests and sometimes pretend to work for the hotel. This is not something the hotel can do much about, but visitors should be aware.

Pros: The property is very beautiful, you get an amazing view of the lake which is not possible from any property around.

Cons: There is nothing that I could think of.

Pros: The property is within the City Palace grounds which is incredible but it is isolated in that it is a gated property. You enter and feel totally secluded which is nice. The staff are just incredibly helpful and all go out of the way to make our experience a wonderful one.

Cons: I will say that it is an old property and though they are revamping, it is not totally complete. For example, the plugs are quite old and there are occasional power outages.

Pros: The hotel has a great location inside the grounds of the CIty Palace adjacent to old town Udaipur. It is a perfect place for seeing the city. Service was also excellent.

Pros: The staff was genial and helpful. They upgraded us to a better room at no additional cost as we found the initial room a bit small for the family.

Cons: The menu is quite limited. They should incorporate more Rajasthani options and also lighter cuisine like Chinese. The travel desk which deals in car reservations was also disorganised maybe on account of the festival.

Pros: The hotel is just next to the city palace. It has a beautiful pool and a bar with a restaurant. The stuff is very nice and the place is really royal.

Cons: The only thing we didn’t like that our room was located on the other side of the main building and we didn’t have a view from our windows.
