Pros: Staff were really pleasant. Room was lovely with an excellent view of Grand Canal. Ideal location for all methods of transport.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast is wonderful. The staff could not have been nicer. We loved the location, right across from the train station. The room was not opulent, but charming and comfortable. I’d definitely stay here again!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: the service was incredible. Patient, thoughtful and extended their help in every way. they go out of their way to serve you. No need to pre-plan events to attend, ( I went for carrnival), they will make suggestions and book events for you. I only tried this service once and regret not having made all of them with their help. The breakfast was extension, excellent pastries as well as ham, cheeses, cereals, eggs, etc.... Room was modest in size but skillfully and beautifully decorated. I will be returning

Pros: Gracious, friendly staff, nice quiet room, good location. A bit dated but overall lovely.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The staff was so friendly and helpful. The ac in the room was great and it was really hot outside so this was welcome every time we got back to our room. The room was SO clean. The breakfast was plentiful with both healthy (fruit, hard boiled eggs and not so healthy (meaning delicious bread, sweets and cakes). The service was excellent at the front desk, the breakfast area and the bar.
Cons: I have no complaints.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: From arrival until departure every member of staff was very professional and couldn't do enough to help. Location was perfect as we arrived via train, platform to hotel in about 5 minutes. We had a 6 month old baby with us and nothing was too much trouble. They were very informative and helpful regarding insites to the city especially as we were only staying for 24 hours. Would we return for a longer stay at a later date? We cant wait.10/10
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was excellent, very solicitous. Rooms were Italian small, but nevertheless comfortable and efficient. Location was excellent, right on the Grand Canal, simply a 5-8 minute from the main bus terminal from the airport at Piazzele Roma. A great location to begin exploring the wonderful city. Could not have been happier.

Pros: Fantastic room The breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice

6,7 Good
Pros: The location is amazing. It’s perfect for exploring Venice at its heart. Breakfast is quite good as well.
Cons: Our room was literally a door right beside the counter to check in that we thought was a closet. To enter and exit we had to walk within a foot of the concierge every time we exited the room. It was an incredibly awkward space, on top of knowing any noise we made would most likely be heard not only by the concierge but also any guests in the lobby. It was, as far as I know, the only room in the hotel on the main floor, and should have been marked as such when booking the room. I would have never booked that room had I known what it was. On top of that, the room itself in no way resembled any photos online nor did it feel like a 4 star hotel in the least. If you’d told me it was a 2 star, I’d say that was stretching it even. The staff is not friendly to tourists. We asked for some information and were greeted with groans. One man at the counter even flat out lied, tried telling us it would 72 euros to get a water taxi to take us to the train station when you can literally get a day pass for 25 euros. Had we not been through the water taxi journey the day prior, we could’ve easily been scammed. We also got yelled at for trying to leave the hotel with our key, even though we’d done it prior many times. Somehow they didn’t tell us this information. Be warned the hotel also locks its doors after a certain time, so you can’t even get back into the property without ringing a buzzer and hoping the concierge lets you back in. I’d definitely not stay here again, and wish we hadn’t. It out a damper on what could’ve been a much more enjoyable time in Venice.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Kind staff who answered our many questions regarding directions, restaurant recommendations, and more. A beautiful hotel with exquisite rooms and comfortable beds!
Cons: A bit tricky to find while carrying heavy luggage. Ask for specific directions, from hotel, if you're walking. Otherwise take a water taxi from the Rialto vaporetto stop to the hotel because one side of the hotel is on a canal.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Great location and very comfortable.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Traveling with my teen daughter, we booked the first floor (handicap equipped) room for a quick one night stay before leaving Italy; as a result of the room's location, it was very reasonably priced (ended up being right next to the front desk but quite honestly, once you got into the room, you'd never know). It was quiet and like a vault. The room and bathroom were spacious, comfortable, clean, well decorated. Front desk staff were very pleasant. The breakfast room and the breakfast itself was fabulous! It's a lovely hotel, and great location from which to walk to sights. Venice and this hotel was the only place we'd stayed longer on our 3 1/2 week European trip...
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Staff made every effort to make our stay welcoming, couldn’t fault room, location, staff or breakfast. We used the concierge service from the airport to hotel and return which made our visit totally stress free.
Cons: Couldn’t fault.
7,9 Good
Pros: excellent location
Cons: Staff service was poor at beeakfast. Staff has hidden from us the fact that the water taxi to Murano was for free.

7,9 Good
Pros: Great location with a great breakfast... walk to everything, close to water taxi's,
Cons: Staff was a little stuffy; we shared a room for 4 people and it was very tight if you have much luggage
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely staff, great room and the breakfast was superb!
Cons: N/a
9,2 Excellent
Pros: A fabulous experience. Hotel A La Commedia could not be more perfectly located: you are steps away from Rialto water bus stop and within 5 minutes walk of Piazza San Marco. In between are some beautiful restaurants and bars, great shopping and small winding streets. Also a handy Co-op for when you don't want to spend 50 Euros for a bottle of wine on the rooftop terrace! The hotel itself is quiet, classy with lovely suites many of which have balconies. Breakfast is absolutely superb - great choice of hot and cold options, fresh juices, fruit, smoked salmon, pastries etc. The staff are incredibly helpful and kind. The rooftop bar has exceptional views and is a very chilled spot in which to relax but be prepared to pay the premium for the location. 3 very small beers are 27 Euros. The concierge was very responsive and helped organise several things for my mother's 75th birthday surprise which I was very grateful for.
Cons: This is Venice so you expect high prices and smaller rooms. I would say that the Junior Suite was immaculate but quite small for 3 - would be perfect for a couple but the twin beds were tightly packed together (really was a double bed with only a few centimetres between the beds) and with a sofa bed out, it was quite confined. Balcony was extremely petite!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Dead center of Venezia, you can't go wrong staying here. Breakfast is perfecto, beds just right firmess and softness, bathroom spacious, spotless. Will be back again.
Cons: Nothing
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was close to the grand canal and easily reached by water bus, with many of the main landmarks only a short stroll away. The room we stayed in was beautiful and comfortable. The staff were welcoming and friendly and offered good advice for our brief visit to Venice. There was also Lovely roof top bar
9,6 Excellent
Pros: We loved the location being so close to Railto and easy walking to San Marco. Lovely rooms with very comfortable bed and very clean, so a big thank you to the housekeeping staff. The staff in general were so friendly and helpful. We loved the roof top bar which we used every day. The breakfast was wonderful, loved the cakes.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The friendly helpful staff. Beautiful appointed room very comfortable bed. The position of the hotel in relation to the Railto Bridge. We loved the roof top bar and the very friendly bar staff. Even though the hotel is so close to a very busy area our room was so quiet we didn't hear any noise. The breakfast was fantastic. If we ever visit Venice in the future we will stay at Hotel A La Commedia
Cons: It was perfect for our stay.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The property was beautiful. The location was just right. The staff was so friendly, fun and professional. The bed was like a cloud. They arranged a private boat tour for us that was great. We could see more of Venice and the surrounding area. Overall it was a comfortable experience. I would recommend this hotel.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: This is a beautiful hotel in Venice’s San Marco area. They had a great rooftop bar and breakfast. We had a beautiful room, very comfortable!

Pros: Very plush for a European hotel, staff was friendly and helpful, great location.
Hotel Indigo Venice - Sant'elena - Venice - Building

9,4 Excellent (168 reviews)

Overview Reviews
The tranquil neighbourhood. Venice is a fairy-tale of a city with palaces, cathedrals and museums to take your breath away. In our neighbourhood you can get your breath back again. It’s a place where you can escape the noise and bustle, experience genuine local life, and feel refreshed. This is a neighbourhood of true tranquillity. At the heart of the neighbourhood is Hotel Indigo® Venice - Sant'Elena, a converted 1930s monastery where a peaceful inner sanctuary offers further respite from the bustle. Our neighbours include the elegant red-brick Gothic church of Sant’Elena, built by Augustinian monks in the 11th century and known for its lofty landmark belltower.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hotel, stylish and relaxed. The breakfast is good, the staff is great. I noticed some confusion between the staff, but that is not strange as the hotel was opened so recently. We will definitely return, we also love the quiet area of Sant Elena and how close it is to the biennale.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Every staff member was extremely helpful and went out of their way to assist. Our room was spacious with beautiful decor. Easy walk to centre of Venice.
Cons: Nothing, everything was great

Pros: Location
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Located in a beautiful green part of Venice, very close to Lido. The front desk staff was friendly, welcoming and very helpful.
Cons: It is not in the centre of the city but it is well connected with the water-bus.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Great location, and it has a lovely garden where you can sit and enjoy a drink after a long day of walking around.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: From the moment we stepped inside we felt welcomed. The staff were very helpful, the bar is well stocked and reasonable, with a lovely atmosphere and comfy seating. Outdoor seating was very relaxing in the night. The bedroom and bathroom was impeccably clean and the bed was luxuriously comfortable. The water buses is a very short walk and are regular, however the walk into the centre of Venice is stunning. The walk along the coast is beautiful. Highly recommend staying here and avoiding the hustle and bustle of the centre.
Cons: Nothing.
4,0 Okay
Pros: The staff was nice enough to say that they will take care of the complains and apologized. The breakfast had variety of food.
Cons: The staff was nice enough to say that they will take care of the complains and apologized but it wasn't taken care of after all.
7,7 Good
Pros: Hotel was located out of the city centre of Venice which is away from the noise, and the room is nice roomy. We arrive very late on the day and the staff assist us on how to get to the hotel.
Cons: The hotel is about 20 mins walk from St. Marco Square and 1 hr by ferry to Piazza Roma, therefore have to plan the time for travelling.
6,0 Good
Cons: Location. It is a bit far from the city centre and major attractions but still within walking distance.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Cleanliness, food, staff, bed, information source, location
8,0 Excellent
Pros: hotel was great in quiet location and close to boat stop so not far to carry any luggage. I did notice alot of people walking round venice with bags looking lost so great for finding the hotel
6,4 Good
Pros: very peaceful,clean too
Cons: very quiet in the bar in evenings, could not enjoy night in hotel, would have to venture out.could have been more of a choice i food for breakfast
6,0 Good
Pros: It had large modern rooms in a quieter area of Venice with some lovely green space but still close enough to the tourist attractions of Venice.
Cons:
7,6 Good
Pros: The hotel was of a high modern standard. The rooms were well equipped although not large , were fine - although the views from the windows were not worth opening the shutters. The breakfast was excellent. The hotel is in a quite location around 15-20 minutes pleasant walk from St Marks Sq. A water bus stops just 2 mins walk from the hotel. (and goes to the Lido and all the Islands, as well as back to the Grand Canal in the other direction).
Cons: The hotel did not have much "Venice" character. The pigeons in the courtyard were a real nuisance. They even landed on the tables and (although the staff cleaned up very quickly ) droppings were regular on the outside furniture.
4,4 Okay
Pros: Location was good, rooms and bathrooms were good
Cons: The reception staff were grumpy
6,0 Good
Pros: The location of the hotel is fabulous, away from the craziness of the crowds and the nearby park is terrific, especially for kids.
Cons:
Hotel ai Mori d'Oriente - Venice - Bedroom

Overview Reviews
Located in Venice (Cannaregio), Hotel ai Mori d'Oriente is within a 10-minute walk of Grand Canal and Ca' d'Oro. Featured amenities include a 24-hour business center, express check-in, and express check-out.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Cozy and well arranged rooms and excellent breakfast.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Helpful staff. Room excellent. Breakfast very good. Great location for water transport and close to restaurants and heart of Venice.
Cons: Nothing!
9,7 Excellent
Pros: Situated in a more residential part of town - but only 10 - 15 min walk to all main attractions this hotel was awesome. Staff were ridiculously friendly. Place is like a 5 star hotel. Completely renovated - all high tech switches in the rooms. Extremely cheap for what you get. Will be only place I stay in Venice from now on!
Cons: Nothing
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent service by very professional staff who were extremely helpful with all our needs. We had special religious needs on Saturday and the staff was very cooperative. The atmosphere was very special in this boutique hotel in Cannareggio area of Venice on the canal. Absolutely peaceful and serene atmosphere that made us forget all everyday concerns. We highly recommend staying here and we will definitely stay here again this summer when we return to visit Venice.
9,4 Excellent
Pros: My husband and I recently stayed at the Ai More d'Oriente for 4 days and 3 nights in December 2014 and loved it. Here's what we loved: LOCATION - The location was perfect... close, easy access to the vaperatto's (Venice's water taxis) as well as a short walk to the city center. STAFF - The staff was super helpful, friendly and accommodating. AMENITIES - Free wi-fi and breakfast. ROOMS - Comfortable, clean, nicely decorated rooms. The rooms are small but 1. that's to be expected in Europe and 2. We didn't come to Italy to stay in the room so the size wasn't an issue for us. Overall we felt we got an excellent value for what we paid. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.
Cons: The breakfast was a typical European breakfast. The coffee was excellent but the food options were not to our liking. However, it I free so not a big deal for us.
7,9 Good
Pros: The location of the hotel is great - it’s very close to the busy streets and restaurants yet two lovely bridges and small passageways away to be calm and peaceful enough. It’s also very easy to get to from the airport (about 25 mins) by taking the water transport. The room is spacious, clean, with attention to detail, and the bed is very comfortable. We even had a small balcony. The breakfast offers a good variety.
Cons: Unfortunately the air conditioning only seemed to allow for the room to be freezing, another setting didn’t seem to be working. The breakfast can be eaten outside in a small area which however will be interrupted by some cheeky pigeons. We wondered if a better fence might help to keep them away so breakfast could be more enjoyable outside. The staff was helpful and friendly but we sometimes missed the service-with-a-smile or just a little bit of chitchat.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was spotless clean, very comfortable room, staff were very engaging, and the breakfast buffet items were good quality. At breakfast the hotel gave a small birthday gift (we guess they knew from the passport at check in). The hotel is in a quiet area with several nice restaurants/cafe within just a 3-5 minute walk, and only a 15 minute walk to the train station.
Cons: Our only negative was the WiFi generally unavailable in our room and spotty in the common areas.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Great location, nice clean rooms, nice hotel
Cons: Room was a bit on the small side
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Loved that it was in a more quiet section of Venice and that it was directly on the water, so boat taxis could get to it. Also the staff were incredibly thoughtful and helpful, they arrange free tours to Murano and help you with ANY request you may have. We had to check out at 6am and they even packed us a “to go” breakfast.
Cons: The only thing that wasn’t amazing was the WiFi connection, it kept breaking off.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely superb service, we go there every year to end our holiday in Europe on a high note, staff always remember us. We are always made feel very special and important and I have no doubt so are other guests. The customer is always of most importance :). We love this place !
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Staff was extremely kind and helpful, they even booked a good restaurant for us and gave an upgrade in the room, as it was for us a special occasion.
Cons: Certain common parts of the hotel maybe a bit “tired”
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Really relaxing environment, friendly staff and clean rooms/surroundings :)
Cons: Bar drinks a little pricey.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect hotel for holidays
7,5 Good
Pros: The Concierge and front desk staff were excellent responded to all requests and were highly professional
Cons: The web page suggests you can see the lagoon from terraces a key usp. This is actually a superior private area and is misleading. Breakfast was adequate although friendly staff didn’t explain what was and wasn’t included I’d have expected the choice of fresh cooked eggs for the price. Dinner outside was disappointing the chairs uncomfortable and without cushions meals ambience disrupted by passers by who almost knocked the waiter over.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location. Staff were good and helpful. Warm welcome. Got a complimentary upgrade. Good breakfast collection. Nice touch overall from all staff we interacted with.
Cons: Nothing at all.

Pros: Amazing location. Despite being right in the middle of the hussle and bussle, inside the hotel was very quiet and relaxing. The room has an amazing view onto one of the quieter canals. The room was clean, bed really comfortable and bathroom had everything you may need.
Cons: Cannot fault it
8,0 Excellent
Pros: great location. Great breakfast.
Cons: lunchtime - bar was not covered due to dining room activity and so the wait for a snack was quite long. Saw people wait and then leave. Water taxi booked easily but no concept of sharing at all - therefore very (unrealistically ) expensive even for Venice.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, private water taxi port/dock and everyone who works there was so kind and helpful.
Cons: Only thing I didn’t like was the buffet breakfast hours were only until 10 am. I prefer brunch and I typically like to eat at around 10:30 when I am on vacation. Because of all the sightseeing and walking around to find gelato late at night :), I like to sleep in later.

Pros: great location, helpful staff, beautiful rooms, very comfortable bed
6,7 Good
Pros: The room was very nice and location was great
Cons: All staff were very rude. No smiles and felt like we were a burden on them. The receptionist were all rude and the experience wasn’t pleasant. For £300 a night, I would expect some form of decent service from the staff but they provided nothing. This ruined the stay for us. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. A smile is free, if you can do it to the other customers in the hotel, and not to us, then there is a big problem in this hotel. I’m sure the management will ignore this but we are your paying customers and we do not deserve to be treated like we shouldn’t be there

Pros: The room is great, large by Venice standards and the air conditioning works well. The roof top terrace is great. The hotel decor is superb.
Cons: I liked everything

Pros: Breakfast was great and hotel room was superb. Best hotel i stayed at in Italy. Room 101 suite is the one to get. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone staing in venice. The restaurant at the hotel was amazing as well 10% discount
Cons: The only thing i did not like was the room was not ready. To be honest though that happens everywhere so what can you do.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Staff was wonderful, location right in the heart of Venice everything was perfect
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is in a fabulous location, very close to St Marks Square and in a lovely area with boutique stores. The breakfast was great - I am coeliac and they offered me plenty of GF options. The staff were very helpful, professional, funny and polite. I used their private transfer service from the airport and back again which although is expensive, for me was well worth it - hassle free and the private speedboat was great - kids loved it and sped the whole process up. I would very much recommend this hotel.
Cons: Only minor thing was for us, the beds were a little uncomfortable but it was a small thing.
7,1 Good
Pros: Place of the hotel.
Cons: No kettle in the rooms.

Pros: The perfect place to stay while visiting Venice! Close to everything, wonderful staff who went out of their way to be helpful and accommodating. We felt completely spoiled! Wonderfully romantic room and delicious breakfast in the morning...would definitely stay again!
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Room was fantastic! Very big, big bathroom, and it was old style Italy which we enjoyed. The location was fantastic! 3 min walk to St Marks Square - amazing! Breakfast was the best we had in Italy! We would definitely stay there again! Ray Charles actually stayed there!!!!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The staff and facilities were great. Food for breakfast also very good. The bar and restaurant are both very good!! Great service. Great quality. And ask for Vincenzo in the restaurant. He's awesome! He and all the staff work hard and together to make your experience special.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was very helpful and very attentive.
6,3 Good
Pros: I loved the rich breakfast in the outside garden. The location was amazing and very close to the center, at the same time the room was quite.
Cons: - The photos and description of the room by booking.com has nothing to do with reality. I booked a classic 3 beds room. However i got a room with double bed + sleeping sofa, which was not even ready for a 3rd person!! I told them that i didn’t book a room with sleeping sofa since we are 3 adults and by booking it was mentioned that the room has double bed + single bed. The solution was: they gave me a smaller room and through a single bed in the middle of the room. I had to wait almost one hour to get this ugly solution at 11 pm ready. They promised to investigate in the morning, but no one talked to me as nothing happened. At the evening when I entered my room, I found a nice basket of fruits in my room although I left the sign (don’t disturb) !!! Who does enter a quest room without his permission and with clear sign Not to disturb? We had our private belongings everywhere!! Such an action is unacceptable for such a prestigious hotel. - The toilet was not that much clean since I found hair on towels from other quests! - The receptionists are very arrogant and not even saying good morning or good evening. I said twice good morning without getting a reply! Small things but give you the feeling you are not welcomed. - If you want to use the iron, they will not send it to your room like all other hotels, because of security reasons!! No idea what that means. You have to run around the hotel by yourself and get in the basement to open a very small room where the iron is. Note: We have been in the 3rd floor! 3 nights I did not sleep well on that uncomfortable bed the gave. They made my first visit to Venedig the WORST EVER. The funny thing is: they didn’t even ask me like all other hotels in the world by check out how was my stay in the hotel. Because they simply don’t care. It is summer and high season and your satisfaction will not change anything. I visited 4 hotels in Italy in 2 weeks. All of them were 4 stars hotels.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Excellent Location and very friendly staff at the reception. Good air conditioning, clean room.
Cons: -a little bit old furniture and stile in the room -staff at breakfast time not as helpful as other hotels, or at the reception of this hotel
5,0 Okay
Pros: Good location, near St Marks Square.
Cons: Room was supposed to be three single beds but was a large double plus a single. Noisy room over restaurant with music. Dark, old-fashioned room and furnishings. Old-fashioned bathroom fittings and no ventilation except the window. Generally unfriendly staff (except the chamber maid). Mediocre breakfast. Disappointed, especially at the price. Would not stay there again.

Pros: Spacious room very clean excellent staff close to all main attractions with an exceptional restaurant
Cons: The bath water was not hot enough, more lounge space

Pros: So tastfully decorated and comfy! Nice large room and beautiful bathroom. Best hotel I've ever stayed in.
5,8 Okay
Pros: Nice clean room and good breakfast.
Cons: I booked a deluxe triple room and it was stated on the website that there would be three single beds inside the room. At the time I checked in, I found one double bed and a small extra bed in the room. The room was so crowded that there was little space for walking. Then I came back to the reception, the staff who named Eduard(I apologise if I spell your name wrong) just refused to even separate the mattress and said the only thing he can do was to offer one more bed sheet. The same time, another guest met the same situation, and his colleague said they will separate the bed for them immediately. I can’t understand how could this happen. Please give your reception staff some more training. Because I believe treating the guests with different nationalities equally is the basic manner of reception. The reception is the first image of your hotel which didn’t give me a nice impression.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Location was great - having stayed in St Marks square and the Lido on previous trips I chose this area to be close to the cruise terminal and still with plenty to do - it was a perfect location for my needs with lots of fab restaurants and shops but quieter and better value than the tourist traps
Cons: The decor was lovely and it had modern furnishings without being too minimalistic - it is a similar style to my own tastes so was lovely
8,8 Excellent
Pros: We stayed in a terrace suite with a jacuzzi which was a nice to relax in with a bottle of complimentary Prosecco! The room was nice and cool, temperature controlled by the hotel but we had no issue with that, we were comfortable. Bathroom was nice and modern (although the toilet wobbled a bit I thought I was going to fall off!) Location is fat from the main plazza, but it is well connected by waterbus (when you get the hang of it! We bought a 3 day ticket from a machine located by the Rialto bridge and can get on and off as much as you want, but can also buy single tickets on the bus. ) Breakfast buffet was incredible! One of the best I’ve ever had, so much choice (fruit, full English, cold meat, cakes, every kind of fruit juice you can imagine, tea, coffee, even Prosecco) Delicious! Staff were friendly and helpful.
Cons: We stayed in a suite, the room itself could do with a bit of updating, looked a bit tired, especially the balcony area and jacuzzi. Enjoyed some lovely cocktails but service was extremely slow.
7,5 Good
Pros: staff is friendly, location is nice, breakfast is very good
Cons: the colour theme is very dark, especially in the corridors I realise it is a style issue but it is too dark in my opinion.

Pros: First of all allies it was a wonderful and let us check in four hours early. That was extremely nice and unexpected.
Cons: The hotel, the location, everything about it was amazing. Our room did have a little bit of a moldy smell to it but I think that's because they turn the air off when you leave and of course they are on the water. Again, I highly recommend this hotel it

7,5 Good
Pros: The location was excellent, near the station, and can access San Marco easily.
Cons: The bathroom layout was terrible. No standard size for rooms, general guidance stating rooms between 18sqm to 23sqm, so we got a tiny room on the ground floor.

Pros: The staff were very helpful and professional. The room was spacious.
Cons: Nothing

Pros: Excellent location, right beside the Canal, S. Angelo, and 15 mins by walk or by ferry to S. Marco. The room is very clean and comfortable. Breakfast is ok, coz it just offers a couple of hot dishes. Staff is nice and try to be helpful.
7,9 Good
Pros: The location just in front of the Canal near Rialto, and the vapporetto stop right in front of the hotel
Cons: The rooms are not properly isolated and you can hear everything from other rooms next to me.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Location was great specially with water-bus station right next to the hotel which can take you almost everywhere in city Quite place nice and friendly staff and decent room size I went there for my honeymoon and they gave us a nice room with balcony with great view of the canal
Cons: The only thing I didn’t like is that there is no restaurant in the hotel but there many nice and cozy restaurants nearby

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location. Incredible view. Friendly staff. Coffee maker. Good lighting in the washroom. Proximity to water taxi is excellent just outside the door to the right. Centrally located on the Grand Canal.
Cons: Would have liked to have an iron and ironing board.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: good location, beautiful room, and it's very quiet and safe area to stay,i like the balcony of the room, can see the river, and the garden for breakfast is also very beautiful
Cons: the breakfast it is a little bit boring and not so much choices compare to other nh collection hotel, and the waiter also not introduced what food can be freshmade by the restaurant, and also don't have any list about that, and some food also don't have supplement when it is already empty. another thing is about the room cleaning, the balcony is good, but as a part of the room, when the first day i arrived, there was short period of rain, and all the seats and table outside were wet,and they didn't do any cleaning of that, just keep the water on it,even it didn't rain anymore,i think the room cleaning should keep every place of the room clean
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Staff were so friendly...area was so beautiful... just the best experience hands down.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Especially the staff was very friendly helping us change rooms and with every of our needs.. The location is very good so central to everything we wanted to see .. piazza San Marco with dome and doge palace...

Pros: Our room was perfect! Very spacious. Right in the centre of everything!
Cons: We had an issue with a member of staff being very disrespectful towards us from the hotel across we actually had to make a complaint to this hotel. After doing so we were called in our room to come down stairs and when we did the staff from our hotel and the hotel across threatened us with the police as complaining was illegal in Italy (obviously this is a load of rubbish). We had 3 members of staff shouting at us in front of other guests. It was just a really terrible way to handle the situation considering we hadn’t done anything wrong. It definitely ruined our trip! We had originally booked 2 night but decided to add an extra and we really wish we hadn’t!
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Just very classy
Cons: Breakfast
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Spacious and very clean and quiet room. Perfect location.
Cons: Somewhat uncozy breakfast room.
6,3 Good
Pros: The room was spacious, the bed really comfy, the bathroom very clean and the shower really great. Honestly it was just the breakfast that was really, really disappointing.
Cons: Considering you're staying in a 4 star hotel, the breakfast was wholeheartedly terrible. The bread was old, the fresh orange juice was mixed with juice from concentrate because they couldn't press it fast enough, the choices of the buffet were very limited and the coffee and tea came at an extra charge from the "a la carte" menu! Also, all the breakfast tables were jammed together so you're basically sitting at one long small table with other guests because all the small tables are practically touching each other.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Room was gorgeous and bathroom was perfect
Cons: Nothing
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect place comparing with price. I suggest everyone who loves Venice.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Location Rooms.....spacious and exceptionally clean The staff were very fficient and friendly
Cons: Slight noise from Street below ....but this is Venice and you have to expect a little noise It stopped at a reasonable time and we slept well
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel staff were extremely helpful and attentive.
Cons: The matre di (?) ignored is in the restaurant so we left.
4,2 Okay
Pros: Location only
Cons: The girl who work in bar it should be work in a garage or any place which deal with metal. She has a very rude language which i ask for tea while im in my room i asked on phone for tea & they said come down to bar & get some ( no tea in room while its 4 star hotel ) any how i come down & ask the girl that i talk to some one on phone & tell me go down she answer u need to pay 5 € !!! I tell her the man who speaks on phone don’t say that & its only tea which also its much cheaper in any coffee outside. She answer it’s your problem not mine. I hope the hotel department can change her because the staff represent the property & they can speak more soft language all people can accept it.
7,4 Good
Pros: Went to celebrate 20th anniversary. Stayed in a 3 star hotel in Venice before and this was certainly more posh and the price tag reflected that as well. Nice amenities that we were not aware of: breakfast was included at the restaurant, 30 minutes per room of private sauna, jacuzzi or steam sauna time per day. Hotel is a 5 minute walk to St. Mark's Square etc.
Cons: Staff are very well dressed and say the right words, but I never sensed any authenticity, warmth, friendliness, etc.. I asked for assistance on several occasions from different people related to getting to the airport, a restaurant recommendation, directions, etc and the responses were typically curt and robotic. The only exception was the porter/bellhop from the Philippines, he was great. I would expect more from a 4-star hotel when I'm paying $400-500 per night. It was as if they didn't like their jobs. The same experience was noted in the restaurant which was located in the sister hotel next door. Doubt I will return given the opportunity.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: - well-located - spacious room - good room service - breakfast not extravagant but enough
Cons: - reception and luggage service to be improved - extra-fee for room with view
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Location was excellent, right in the heart of Venice between St Marks square and the Rialto bridge. Service in the hotel was mostly outstanding (it was the first hotel I have stayed at in this price range that has maid service twice per day - including nightly turn down service). The restaurant in the partner hotel (located 100 yards away, just around the corner) provided a relaxing evening, overlooking the canal with gondolas passing as we ate. Food was prepared to a high standard and service was impeccable.
Cons: Walking around the nearby streets was pressured. Crowded and slow to get along (but that is tourist Venice) with a constant sales pitch from someone standing outside every restaurant trying to encourage you to eat there. You need to be careful, the food in some of them isn't great - frozen pizza reheated (not what I expected in Italy).

Pros: Everything was great
Cons: Wifi a bit week
9,6 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is situated on an island and is accessible by water taxi or by the courtesy shuttle boat from St Marks square and they are regular throughout the day, on arrival we checked in and headed to rooftop adult-only pool, the attendant made ready 2 lounge chairs and we sat with the most amazing view of Venice and it really was all the sightseeing we fancied doing after travelling for days, It really was special.
Cons: As it was on an island and a resort hotel it might have been good to have some entertainment on in the evening, it may be so but not in the evenings we were there.
7,0 Good
Pros: Room was good.
Cons: My checking in experience was no so pleasant.
7,1 Good
Pros: 1. comfortable shuttle service to Venice 2. good breakfast 3. nice and helpful staff 4. clean rooms
Cons: 1. Hotel and interiors are typical for the brand - beautiful and unique neighbourhood of Venice is completely untapped 2. rooms are cosy but typical and not well decorated for one of the best hotel 3. everything is expensive only because is Marriott (not because it is good) 4. You pay for the brand not for quality 5. You have to pay for the wi-fi in rooms (ridiculous at the price of the room)
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Great location - on its own island. Great facilities. Friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Cons: Bathrooms look a little dated compared to the room itself. Family pool was not as clean as it should be.

Pros: The room was the most beautiful room I have stayed in. Well laid out and incredible decor. The whole hotel is like a museum and a real feast for the senses. Service from all staff was personable, efficient and friendly. This really is an excellent hotel.
Cons: I thought the breakfast could be better. Considering this is 5 star and you pay for that service, you expect a full spread. They have a selection for breakfast which is included but anything cooked you must pay extra. Not necessary.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Location, bedrooms, staff
Cons: Nothing
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The friendliness and courtesy of the staff and the immaculate appearance of the facility
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The ambience at the hotel was delightful. The decor was amazing in the public areas which reflected the fact that this was originally a palace. Being on the Grand Canal was enormously convenient. Water taxis were available immediately outside the door as were the beautiful gondolas.
Cons: We booked the private boat function for the night of the Redeemer and watched the most amazing firework display. However we should have been collected afterwards at 12.30 am to return to the hotel. We weren't picked up till nearly 3.00am as there were no water taxis available!!! This was clearly unacceptable and we eventually had to travel back in an overcrowded boat!! Not to be repeated !!!
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Great hotel excellent location and extremely friendly staff
7,9 Good
Pros: Excellent/
Cons: No 110V outlets. No USB outlets. No coffee in room. Not enough pillows. Poor quality pillows.
7,5 Good
Pros: Professional staff, good location.
Cons: Chose this property because it is on the grand canal, what it doesn't state clearly is that only 6 rooms actually have a view, the rest have windows looking onto eachother inside the building.
9,7 Excellent
Pros: Everything, it was charming.
Cons: No points at all.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is beautiful, like staying in a museum. Having breakfast surrounded by frescoes was a unique experience
Cons: I asked the front desk to help me book a train to Florence the night prior to checking out. They told me that they could not do this for me, but not to worry as the trains don't sell out anyway. Unfortunately when we showed up at the train station, the train to Florence we needed was sold out ruining our plans for the afternoon. I stayed in two other hotels on this stay in Italy and in both the staff booked train tickets for me
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Location, staff, charm
Cons: Rooms are a bit tired but nevertheless the price/quality ratio is outstanding and therefore I cannot complain about the rooms
7,1 Good
Pros: Location on the canal was great but a good 1/2 hour walk to the St Marks area.
Cons: Very very expensive restaurant
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The service was excellent. The hotel is just absolutely stunning. The tranquility. The room service out of this world, so efficient. The view so beautiful especially from the roof terrace. Breakfast delicious.
Overview Reviews
With its heritage setting on Riva degli Schiavoni, Hotel Danieli dominates the Venetian lagoon with spectacular views of the Grand Canal and islands. Also overlooking the Palazzo Ducale, the hotel is just steps away from Ponte Dei Sospiri and Piazza San Marco. The three palaces which comprise the hotel date from the 14th, 17th and 19th Centuries: Palazzo Dandolo in Venetian Gothic style, once home to the noble Dandolo family; Palazzo Casa Nuova, previously the city’s treasury; and Palazzo Danieli Excelsior, featuring guestrooms with balconies overlooking the lagoon on its upper floors. The three palaces house a rich collection of precious art and antiques that play witness to the city’s history, blended with contemporary comforts to meet the needs of cultured global travelers. Essential to the Danieli experience is its Restaurant Terrazza Danieli and cuisine concept, a magical voyage for the senses which retraces the oriental influences of spice traders and blends them with ingredients from the lagoon.

Pros: The room had a chandelier, beautiful view of the garden, and a large bathroom. Good breakfast.
Cons: The staff was a little indifferent, except the porter.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Nearly everything but one very big negative!
Cons: When we first arrived in the beautiful room We couldn’t get the beside light to work. When I shifted the bedside table table a little the badly designed light fell over and smashed immediately. I was then told I would have to pay €120 for the light or the police would be called. I was willing to pay something for the light but felt that it was unreasonable to be asked to pay €120 for a light that 1. Didn’t work in the first place. And 2. The base broke in the process of me trying to fix it. I paid the full amount on checking out as any further delay could have caused us to miss our flight.

Pros: Great location Clean comfortable spacious room Friendly staff
Cons: Nothing!

Pros: My mum and I enjoyed our staying at the hotel. The room was comfortable and clean. The bathroom was well-equipped. The choice of food at breakfast time was rather good. The vaporetto station is close to the hotel. The city centre is 15 minutes of a pleasant walk from the hotel.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is gorgeous and the location was just right with a fair walking distance to popular spots. The breakfast is good and staff are exceptional. The hotel sits right along the canal and it is a shame that we did not get a room with a view of the canal as it would have been an amazing view.
Cons: Though the cleanliness of the room was good, the only issue I had was that there was a lot of dust around the aircon unit and when we used my partners hairdryer, dust would blow everywhere. Other than that, no issues.

The staff was helpful and got our room ready early because my toddler daughter was very tired after a long travel day. Hotel staff also gave great food recommendations. We did the hotel organized water taxi tour on the grand canal, which departs and arrives from the hotel door on the canal. It was a once in a lifetime experience. Highly recommend!
Cons: Elevator was very small.

Pros: All of the staff was friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and I would definitely stay here again if I ever go back to Venice.

Pros: The staff, they were all helpful and friendly. We were delayed for 1 day, they changed our booking at no extra cost to meet our needs. This was a real help to us!
Cons: No real outside space for a drink by the canal!
7,4 Good
Pros: A lovely hotel in a great part of Venice, near St. Marks square. Clean rooms, nice breakfast.
Cons: Our standard room was tiny. We could barely open our 2 suitcases up on the floor side by side at the foot of the bed and pass by to get to the washroom. The room was just bigger than the bed.
7,9 Good
Pros: The best thing about hotel is it’s entrance being directly accessible by speed boat (water taxi) & historic San Marco square is behind & hardly 5-7mins walk

Pros: breakfast good staff very nice
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Overall it was in the good location and the staff were nice.
Cons: Buffet place seems little small to move around as we have to give a way to other customers by moving from the chair. Better management of chairs would help. Also, the emergency pull in the restroom could be written with red and place in such a way that customers will not pull thinking as a light switch, as I did that :))
6,3 Good
Pros: Location was very good, and easily found. Room was OK in size, and bathroom pretty spacious and well equipped. breakfast was ok with nice professional team. good wi-fi
Cons: The facility has a lot of things falling short of the 4 stars hotel it presumes to be: reception is ok but very cold attitude. They will not go the extra mile in any circumstances (like when we left at 7:05 o'clock we could not get a cup of coffee because dining room opens at 7:15) - come on!! and many other examples. Room was ok but outdated, curtain full of stains, a bit smelly unless you open the window. A very small tv without proportion to the size of the room and an unreasonable distant from the bed. TV set itself very cheap and inferior in quality and sound, hardly any foreign channels. bed was bumpy (probably old mattress, hence not so comfortable, blanket was put on bed with no cover or blanket case. No complementary water or any other perk in a very expensive superior room, which is really odd and unlike what is commonly acceptable. Coffee kit in the room- really of poor quality and miserly selection. so when it comes to value for money- there is a huge gap!! they charge way too much money for what they give.

Pros: Location was perfect, near enough to san marco but away from the crowds. Room was large for our family, located off a quiet square so was quiet. The AC was excellent, so we had great nights of sleep in cool air. The morning supervisor at the front desk was extremely knowledgable and professional and ensured that we had what we needed. I cant think of any way our hotel experience in Venice could have been better.
Cons: All was good

Pros: Nice location , spacious and clean
7,5 Good
Pros: The staff were lovely and really helpful! The location was good and easy to get to everything. The bed was comfy and bathroom was good.
Cons: The room we had was extremely small and our view was of concrete so we didn’t really feel the value in our money because of this. The bedroom area was all red walls and timber beams on the roof which was cute but it made the room feel very small. There were quite a few reviews saying the breakfast was really good.. the breakfast was fine but it’s the same as every other hotel in Europe and Italy, there wasn’t anything outstanding about it for us.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful large and luxurious rooms. Terrific breakfast! This place was so central and perfect for a romantic stay in Venice!
7,1 Good
Pros: The location was perfect! Very clean and the staff was very helpful! Would definitely stay again.
Cons: We stayed in the suite of the hotel, Both showers flood the floor of the bathroom. Especially the steam room, glass door needs a fix. The hot tub didn’t work, and buttons were lose. Air con system saying ‘ Help? Had to call reception for clean towels and when is room getting cleaned?
4,2 Okay
Pros: Location was only few minutes walk from Rialto bridge. Easy to get to all the main attractions.
Cons: The hotel does not advertise any photos of their standard rooms on booking.com however advertise their suites as well as what looks to be a smaller room (which is actually the bedroom Of their suites) allowing you to assume that is the standard room. When comparing photos and prices online with other options in the area, it looks to be the best value for money however once we got there we were shocked on how small and uncomfortable our room was. Bed had no bed side tables but a wardrobe on either side making us feel claustrophobic. The bathroom was tiny and there was no working fan in the room with 26 degrees. We ended up being way too hot, opened the window over night and got lots of mosquito bites. When questioned the size of room which was not matching what was advertised online and for the price we paid, the reception staff replied with ‘we can’t have every rooms photo online, this is our standard room and only way for a bigger room is to upgrade which will cost you more’ The room was really unbearable so we decided to upgrade paying even more to the already very expensive and not value for money bill. The upgrade was worth it and more reflective to the few we paid. Really spacious suite with an amazing king size bed and jacuzzi room. Breakfast was again not value for money. The breakfast offer was literally bread, couple of cheeses, cakes and fruits. We arrived 45minutes before breakfast was closing to find half of the trays empty, no croissants, eggs, ham or cheese left. Overall very poor breakfast for what is meant to be a four star hotel! We were very very disappointed with our experience, something that we are not used to with booking.com as we travel a lot. I would not recommend, it felt like an absolute rip off.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Wellness suite 704: Excellent location less than 10 minutes from St Marks Sq & the Rialto Bridge, there's also 3 restaurants on the square and a mini-mart just off it. Reasonably priced mini bar - much better value than local bars. Very comfy bed. Huge TV, with Netflix - not that we used it, but it was pretty. Eames lounge chair - very nice touch. Balcony with table and seating overlooking the sq.
Cons: Door card was temperamental, it only actually unlocked the door one in 5 attempted, you have to listen for the audible "click". Rainfall shower needed a clean, it spurted out at different directions - but it's hard to reach being about 8 foot off the ground so understandable. A larger fridge to store own bought drinks would have been nice.
