10,0 Excellent
Pros: The host, husband and wife, they were very kind and took care of us well. They even recommended the best place to go around and eat. We had breakfast and dinner here. They cooked very delicious food. Luckily, there was only us check-in at the time we stayed. The accommodation is a shared bathroom+onsen. We had the whole place by ourselves.
Cons: The accommodation has many rooms. However, if the place is fully booked, the bathroom and toilet are surely insufficient.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Great onsen! Good food!
Cons: Outside the room the place was a bit cold.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: I had to make a schedule change one day before check in, although I understand it’s not allowed according to the rule. The owner was very helpful and tried his best. I very much appreciated his kindness.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The couple running this were very helpful and adorable. Insists on carry your bags even though the guy limps. He would also keep a lookout for you and open the door for you if your roommate with the key is out at the onsen or something. Limited English but they really try their best. For the price, food was great. The onsen was also great. Its natural, so the water keeps running 24 hours. There is an open air bath - small but great. You can hike around the area including soaking in the public open air and free onsens around. I didn't but loved the way the onsens were so near the lake (even flowing into it).
Cons: It's a bit old but interior is fine.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: owner is very nice and helpful. so lovely :)
Cons: smell of gas from heater is too strong
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Our stay at Kussharokoso was great. The food is really good and the two owners are very friendly. The hotel is ideally located with a lot of hikes and scenic spots easily accessible. The 24h onsen is also a very nice plus. As a side note, you need a car to go around the area and really enjoy it all.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly owners. Very nice and very Japanse meals. Large room en very clean. Nice onsen.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Onsen included, optional breakfast and dinner. Classical Ryokan. Very friendly staff. Free parking
Cons: No kitchen for the travelers to use. Could use a renovation in the washing rom / toilet section.
7,1 Good
Pros: Owner is nice and friendly. Eventhough with limited English, he tried to give us explanations how to go to certain places.
Cons: There aren't any shops nearby. Road is dark..easily to be missed.

Pros: Thank you Kussharo Genya Youth Guesthouse for your hospitality. Hosts are wonderful, very helpful. It is a very peaceful place to stay. The food is outstanding, venison is excellent. Chef also makes a wonderful curry too. Trip to see sunrise is well worth it. Very good base for day trips. Great hiking in area. Very relaxing, casual atmosphere. I love that it's really right out in the country side Lots of birds and crickets songs.

Pros: The meals were Japanese and I liked the breakfast
Cons: One of the male toilet cubicles is not in use, leaving just one cubicle and 2 urinals.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable bed and room. constant hot water and a lounge to hang out at. Because the place is located at a side road (easy access by car), there was not much streetlights which made star gazing possible! good wifi. Wash basin available in room
Cons: open shower and in the room itself, the stairs to the second level where my bed was was quite steep.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: I dont like anymore Bookink !!!! You put a plac ,in the list of places l was looking for, which was not even close to the place Omachi, then icould not cansel it becaus of comuniction problems. I couldnot even find another place for the night and then you charge me for the all amount. After about 70 rooms i booked from you at this trip. I am waiting to hear from you about it !!!
6,3 Good
Pros: The location close to Akan national park
Cons: The mattress was very hard so I had back pain after one night of sleep. The walls are very thin so we could hear everything that the neighbours said but also when breakfast started in the morning in the common room one story below our room! Very noisy!! This place was too expensive for such bad quality

10,0 Excellent
Pros: I love Japanese style accommodation and this one is a very nice one. It is an oldie, might need some repairs, but it is such a comfortable one! I had a 5 tatami room with a sitting area, a good futon, a fridge, a heater, lots of space for storage, a nice bathroom, good working WiFi, an onsen open 24 hrs a day and much more. Staff is friendly, service is good and the pickup from and to the station is very convenient. There is a lot to see in the Akan area, this hotel is a good base for exploring. And if you don't venture outside, there are many interesting items to see inside the building as well.
