Overview

Summerville sits in the pines just inland from Charleston, a South Carolina town of azaleas and front porches that bills itself as the birthplace of sweet tea. The SureStay by Best Western Summerville Flowertown makes a comfortable base in Summerville, South Carolina, close to the historic downtown, the azalea gardens, the Charleston business district, and an easy drive to the coast. Off Interstate 26 toward Charleston, the hotel makes an easy base for the coast and the azalea gardens. A free breakfast opens the morning, the rooms hold a flat-screen TV, microwave, and refrigerator, and free parking sits right outside. Summerville's Azalea Park bursts into bloom each spring for the Flowertown Festival, one of the Southeast's largest. Charleston's historic district, beaches, and harbor lie about a half-hour southeast of Summerville. Charleston sights and azalea gardens, the historic downtown, and the beaches beyond all sit close by. Settle in and let the Lowcountry set the pace.

Summary of reviews

Guests say
Guests consistently praised the hotel's convenient location, with many finding it close to shopping, dining, and other attractions. However, numerous reviews highlighted significant cleanliness issues, particularly due to ongoing construction, dirty rooms, and lack of proper housekeeping. Service was often described as unprofessional or unhelpful, with some positive mentions of friendly staff. Breakfast generally received negative feedback for quality and variety. While a few guests appreciated comfortable beds and value for price, the overall experience was marred by cleanliness, service, and renovation-related problems.
