Pros: The star rating was lower than it should be.
7,9 Good
Pros: Staff was friendly. Everything was Clean & smelled really good,-which is so important! Bed was super comfy. Bathroom clean. They have 2 pools - 1 indoor, 1 outdoor. Fitness room and a lounge for drinks at night and breakfast in the morning. Unfortunately I did not get a chance to try their breakfast.
Cons: I had a room on the 2nd floor by the hotel entrance and people would go out there and sit by the fountain and smoke, which was fine, but they were kinda loud after 11pm when trying to sleep.
8,0 Excellent
Cons: Hot Tub/jacuzzi was closed for repairs.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very, very friendly and accommodating staff.
Cons: No. All was good.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very friendly. We enjoyed the hot tub and pool. Rooms were very spacious.
5,0 Okay
Pros: I was informed breakfast was included and until 10:00 a.m. I was looking forwward to it! When we went to eat at 9:20 a.m I was so dissapointed that there was no breakfast other than cereal and coffee. I asked the girl at front desk why I was not able to take advantage of breakfast promised, she advised breakfast was only served until 10 am on weekends! I was very dissapointed and feel we were lied to or at least misled.
Cons: see above. Dont tell us we were paid for free breakfast when not true, Altough our room was clean and smelled fresh, we did not appreciate the many "fruit flies" or Fleas" flying around the lights. I got bit on arms We almost asked to be moved, but did not want the hassle of moving items and belongings again

Pros: Beds were comfortable, staff was efficient and friendly and the hotel was convenient to the highway. It was quiet and clean.
5,0 Okay
Pros: Friendly staff
Cons: Elevator not working and even though I specified on the booking because my husband has a disability, we would need a first floor room, we were told the place was fully booked and all they had was a 3rd floor room.

Pros: The staff were so friendly and helpful, I would honestly stay with you again. The room was spotless clean and perfect temperature. My sister lives in W Brookfield, so I do get up your way every couple of years.

Pros: Clean, reasonable, convenient comfortable beds, easy access and parking
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Super clean, comfy beds.
Cons: Continental breakfast was weak, should have told us friendly's on the property had half off breakfast every week day.
7,0 Good
Pros: Location.
Cons: Found a roach inside of the room I was staying in.
7,0 Good
Pros: I came into the motel late at night in the rain and left at 4:00 am still in the rain. I appreciated having a few hours of respite from my trip. I didn't interact with anyone, nor did I see the place as it was pitch black night and raining heavily. The room was clean. Thank you.
Cons: I would have preferred down pillows or soft foam pillows on the bed; however, the bed was comfortable and everything was clean.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff. Large, clean room with frig, quiet a/c, other amenities. Decent breakfast. Convenient location.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The desk staff was very professional, cordial, and welcoming! We really enjoyed the privacy but that would likely be different if this stay was not in the off season. The facility buildings bordered a wooded area that provided a great view during the morning snowfall, very picturesque. Though the facility appears to have been built many years ago the rooms were very up to date. It was obvious that the owners were very savvy about making upgrades and making them look like they fit the room. Very clean room, nice furnishings, comfortable beds, nice flat screen, and well priced.
Cons: Having to leave after only one night and that we had not found this fine establishment before this stay!
7,1 Good
Pros: Nice large rooms with comfy beds. Convenient location for celebrations in Old Sturbridge Village
Cons: Let down by all the disposable items. In room, there were paper cups for hot drinks, wrapped in plastic, and plastic glasses. Breakfast was on card plates, with paper cups, and cereals in pre-packed plastic bowls. This felt really cheap and nasty, we only bothered with breakfast one day it was such a dismal offering, eaten in a cramped room behind the office. Please invest in a dishwasher and some crockery, and make the stay far more pleasant and better for the environment. Also the payment system is awful and confusing
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Our room was big, clean, well maintained, quiet and charming. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. A hair dryer, ironing board, iron and a safe were provided. The bathroom had two sinks and a large counter space.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Very quiet
Cons: Difficult to get into the property from west bound direction
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was friendly and efficient. Lovely setting close to attractions-nice morning continental breakfast
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The room was very spacious and extremely clean. I was impressed with the sparkling clean bathroom which is a must when I travel.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Location only a few minutes drive from the brilliant Old Sturbridge Village. Very large room with coffee-making facilities and a fridge. All the lodges were built round a central green. Very pleasant.
Cons: The beds could have been bigger. The double was just a standard size.

The Publick House Historic Inn in Sturbridge, Massachusetts, where good food comes out of our Yankee ovens and warm hospitality greets every guest.Ebenezer Crafts opened the Inn in 1771 as a gathering place for citizens of Sturbridge and weary travelers along the Boston Post Road. In 1923, the property was purchased as a boarding house for women and renamed The Elms. During the 1940's, then owner, Richard Paige, leased the property to the US Army as a post for soldiers en route for training. The Publick House, during this time, moved across the common to a large white house. Not one day has been missed in providing good hospitality in over 230 years.Since 1771, Publick House Inn has been the lodging and dining hub for esteemed visitors, from George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, and General Lafayette to present day travelers, such as actors Bill Murray, Susan St. James and John Travolta. Today, the old world spirit continues welcoming guests with open hearths and Yankee hospitality. The dining room features an indulging array of duck, lamb, lobster, and other specialty meat and seafood dishes, including a traditional Thanksgiving fare available all year long.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: The employees were very nice and I liked the room decor. Breakfast was nice as well.
Cons: Where our room was located. First floor on the end. Right outside was the parking lot and entrance to the building. Other guests were going in and out in the early morning hours slamming the door.
6,0 Good
Pros: The variety of options: restaurant, workout, pool, bakery, grounds, etc ...
Cons: Electricity going out 5 minutes into the US Women's World Cup Match. Lack of passion and interest of an efficient staff. They seemed to know what to do, but lacked heart.
6,8 Good
Pros: The bed was surprisingly comfortable
Cons: The room was very outdated and smelled musty. We had to sleep with the sliding glass door open to air out the room. Manageable but not what I would have expected.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: The staff, the grounds, the eating spots.
Cons: Signage say from outside registration to the correct building was non-existent!
6,7 Good
Cons: Booked room and was put in the motor lodge building. Tied, old smelly! Not where I thought I would be - did companies and Alex to be moved to main in - better- front staff does need to place more focus on customers and stay off the phone as people are checking in

Pros: Cleanliness. Stayed at Tillyer House. It was like staying at a private home with beautiful porch and living room with fireplace. Room was very nice. Bed super comfortable. Pros: Historic home. Beautiful property.
Cons: Slight musty odor, but to be expected for the age of the structure.

Pros: Location is very convenient. Price is right.
Cons: The hot water took 5 mins to heat up. The whole hotel should be non-smoking, or designate an outside location away from other guests rooms. Someone was chain smoking right outside my door. Had to speak to them.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Nice interior and good beds, easily accessible from the highway and nevertheless nice and quiet.
Cons: Although all appeared to be nice and clean, the one thing I ran into, almost ruined my very possitive experience: hairs in the bathtub... in and on the edge of the bathtub, so one would say hard to miss... I am practically bold, so definitely not my own
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Easy access to everything. Close to OSV, restaurants, the wedding venue I was there for, and some stores.
Cons: Even with the air on, the room got a little warm at night, but that's just a personal opinion, as I always run warm.
1,0 Poor
Cons: Yes the fact that I booked a room with a jacuzzi and when I got there the two rooms were given to someone else when I booked in advance
8,0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was recently renovated and it is beautiful! Our room faced the lake and that was wonderful!!! Very surprised on how nice it was.
Cons: You can hear the people in the room next door if they are loud. On one side of us they were loud and on the other side quiet.

Pros: I stay here often. It's basic, but it's nice. It's clean, I never have to worry about bed bugs or mold.
Cons: The heat/AC unit in the room did not work properly. Someone broke the nob and thought using electrical tape was going to fix it. We had to use something to turn the lever underneath it to adjust the heat. But I've never had another issue here.

9,6 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was great. Inclusion of smoothies was a pleasant surprise. Pool area was clean and well maintained. Noon check out was a bonus.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: The room was comfortable, the front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall, we were very happy with our stay. It was great to have breakfast ready to go for us in the morning. The coffee was really good!
Cons: Breakfast was great but one of the staff was asked a question about the scones and replied that it was a plain scone. The other customer after eating a bite or two had to tell the staff member that it contained nits, I would hate for a person with allergies to be misinformed about the food offered. Maybe just a little bit of discussion should take place to make sure the staff setting up the breakfast is aware of any potential allergy risks.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Convenience, cleanliness, friendly staff., pool and hot tub.
Cons: On the second day I was there I informed the front desk that the fan in my bathroom did not work. I don’t know if they tried to fix it or not because I got no feed back. No fan in the bathroom on for the rest of the week. The rug in my room looked like it could use a good shampooing. Other than this, my stay went very well.
1,0 Poor
Pros: Not much

Pros: For what we were looking for, the location was great. The room was a good size, and the bed was comfortable. The owner was wonderful, as when he found out that my wife had oxygen delivered for her use during our vacation, he moved us into the first room. He was very accommodating and friendly and we both appreciated that. The breakfast was small, but everything we ate and drank was fresh, and tasted good. Overall, the hotel is a good value for the money. I would recommend it to others.
Cons: There really needs to be more outlets around the bed. I had to share my wife's outlet on her side of the bed in order to charge my cell phone. That was inconvenient. There's a lot of wasted, empty space in the bathroom under the sink, which seems odd. Some drawers, or something like that, for bathroom stuff would have been nice. The picture on the TV wasn't very clear either.

8,0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was gracious and helpful. The location on the side of the lake was perfect.
Cons: One of the reasons I booked this hotel was so I could use the pool. However, it didn't open until 10 am and we had to be out much earlier than that.

Pros: Evething
7,5 Good
Pros: Location is terrific, right on a pretty pond, easy to get to and find off the highway. Staff was friendly, although not especially helpful or capable. Room was spacious, quiet, and comfortable.
Cons: Everything was a bit dingy and outdated. (The sign at the dining room stating "Hostess will seat you" must date back to when only women were hired as waitstaff.) Breakfast area was dark (bulbs out in ceiling fixtures didn't help), the food was mediocre, and the help barely competent. The bar area was too small to accommodate our group of six comfortably. There was a dog grooming convention going on at the hotel during our stay, and although it didn't bother us, other members of our party had to request a change of rooms because of barking, and we overheard many complaints from other guests. The staff seemed accommodating but didn't exactly bend over backwards to satisfy complaints.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel's staff excelled in customer service. The location is very convenient.
Cons: The restaurant adjacent to the hotel was a major disappointment. First of all, several items were no longer available, due to running out of the main ingredients. The service was very poor. When our food finally arrived, one had to be sent back because of it being cold. I could go on, but needless to say, it was the only negative aspect of our stay.

Pros: Location
Cons: Shabby, not very clean.
7,5 Good
Pros: The location is fantastic, and the staff are good. We stayed in two different rooms - at the front (pretty good) and the back (not so good at all). Most of all though, we were very pleased that the hotel changed our first booking following our airline delaying us a day. We can't thank the hotel enough for this as it turned a disaster into a success for us. We'd return to Sturbridge Econolodge again fro sure.
Cons: The bathroom in the room(s) at the rear of the hotel are really not acceptable.

Pros: everything was perfect. the breakfast buffet was simple but adequate (waffles were yummy)
5,0 Okay
Pros: It was inexpensive and the room was comfortable enough. Pretty small but okay for the price. Included breakfast was very basic but okay,.
Cons: It is REALLY difficult to find, almost impossible, behind a very busy truckstop along a dark windy pothole filled road with almost no signage. I had to ask at several places and even then had a very hard time finding the place.
5,0 Okay
Pros: There was free bottled water in the reception area - perhaps a token to make up for a bad experience.
Cons: 1. The driveway access was confusing and poorly marked; 2. Exterior lighting was poor which made it scary to walk a dog at night; 3. Our non-smoking room reeked of stale cigarette smoke; 4. There was no refrigerator; 5. The room was small and cramped; 6. Sound-proofing of the walls was poor - noise and conversation from adjacent rooms was objectionable; 7. The back entrance to a poorly lighted parking area was never locked, giving us concern about security; and 8. Breakfast was limited compared to other similar hotels.
