Pros: The hotel was a nice place for rest and relaxation. We were a group of five and it worked well - the (heated) pool and breakfast at the hotel were great. We really enjoyed our balcony with views of the lake and volcanos. The location was also good, near restaurants, shops and the docks for boats to visit other towns.
Cons: The gym. We purposely chose this hotel because we wanted a place with a gym. It had one working treadmill and a stair master - and that’s it. Some free weights would be a nice addition.
Pros: The views are spectacular. The location is convenient to restaurants and shopping. The hotel arranged a boat at the market price. Parking is a little cumbersome.
Pros: Good location..good comfort.
Cons: No coments..
Pros: Gorgeous views, excellent friendly staff, great pool, good affordable food, very helpful. Walkng distance to Calle Santander and port. Kid-friendly - pool, playground, trampoline.
Pros: Location is awesome, we walked everywhere and it didn’t take long at all. View over the lake and the volcano was pretty amazing.
Cons: Rooms are incredibly dated and have no aircon which made the nights uncomfortable. The beds are quite small compared to other hotels. The staff struggled with English which meant communication was quite difficult at times. The pool is nice but they have kids swimming lessons there in the afternoon which doesn’t make it very relaxing.
Pros: The view of lake atitlan
Cons: A bit worn down. Needs some renovating. Pool and jacuzzis needs to be heated.
Pros: We stay at this hotel every 2 years and it never disappoints the hotel is always clean and staff friendly! Pool is always well maintained beautiful grounds and views
Cons: Only thing is if you like soft beds these beds are a little hard.
Pros: I enjoyed the view so much, I think this hotel has the best location.
Pros: The pool area, the room, the comfortable beds, the view, the really friendly staff.
Cons: Nothing in particular. Access to the lakefront, from the pool / garden area, was not possible during our stay. It would be good too have this restored.
Pros: Best location right in the middle of Panajachel with great views over Lago Attitlan. Huge pool with kids area and kids play area on the sun roof. Staff very helpful with early check-in and late check-out.
Cons: The hotel is quite dated and you can tell that it hasn’t been upgraded since the 70s. Virtually no electrical outlets. A bit strange that you have to go through the restaurant and reception to get to the pool area, sun roof and children’s play area. A bit annoying when you are in your wet bathing suit. On some days the open air restaurant and grounds along the pool are used as lunch stop for one of the Lago Attitlan cruises. So you’re lounging in the pool area and before you know it 100 elderly Americans are eating buffet food and looking at you from grounds around the pool. Felt a bit exposed and would have been good to know beforehand.
Pros: the view from the room. its location. the staff.
Pros: The waiters were really friendly and service was good.
Cons: Hotel is outdated and restaurant is over priced for what it is.

Featured amenities include wired Internet access (surcharge), a 24-hour front desk, and laundry facilities. Guests may use a roundtrip airport shuttle for a surcharge, and free self parking is available onsite.
Cons: Being 6 ft, 2 inches I need a bed without a footboard. Didn't have that at this hotel.
Pros: The location of the hotel is excellent with easy access to restaurants and the boat dock to take day trips to the towns around the lake.
Cons: The restaurant is very expensive for what you get, especially for breakfast. For the price of the room they could include the basic ammenities like shampoo, lotion, etc they only provide soap from a dispenser. Also no tea or coffee machine in the room. We requested one of the rooms to be a king bed when doing the reservation, upon arrival they informed us it was not possible.
Pros: comfortable beds, location, restaurant has a great view, staff are helpful
Pros: the location of the hotel and the museum
Cons: they did not honor their reservation they try to move us to another facility. This is the second time they sell our room.
Pros: Only the food was gooooood and the people in the restaurant super nice
Cons: An extremely disappointed experience with Posada Don Rodrigo hotel! Initially, I reserved a room with a lake view and air conditioning 3 months in advanced. Once I arrived at Guatemala, I called to confirm my reservation indicating that we made the reservation for a double bed room with a lake view and air conditioning. They assured and confirmed to me that the room with the lake view and ac was available. However, when I arrived after a 3 hours drive from I was told that there was not room available. My family and I spent at least 90 minutes going back and forth with the Front Desk Staff. I had to call the booking.com number. That is when the staff said they had a room but not the one I reserved. The first room they showed me was totally unacceptable and not a tiny reflection of what I reserved. The second option, was not better either but at least had a window. To give a short description, the toilet was cracked, the lamp was missing a light bulb, the bathroom was dark and there was no air conditioning or fan. My husband and family were frustrated. Then they offered a second optional room at another hotel that was a few miles away, which would have taken us away from the area. We specifically choose Posada Don Rodrigo for its location and for the description provided in booking.com. Finally, without any additional options or additional help from booking.com we decided to stay at the dump with no view or air conditioning at the same price. The front desk staff offered two breakfasts and one dinner; however, at the time of check out this was not true. We had to pay additional money for the breakfast and dinner. No amenities or discount was given after the unpleasant experience. I hope this does not happened to any other guests.
Pros: I like the location and the view. Cheap laundry service.
Cons: AC in room didn't work. No soap, no Kleenex, no shampoo or conditioner.
Pros: The view across Lake Atitlan can not be beaten, the hotel was well situated, allowing easy access to the lake and the interesting towns elsewhere around the shores. The rooms were comfortable and spacious and ours opened onto a narrow but well kept strip of garden. This was on a raised level overlooking the beautiful lake. The bathroom was a little small and dark but functional. The staff in reception were very good and helpful, particularly in assisting with transfers to and from hotel and arranging a tour of the small towns on the other side of the lake.
Cons: The food was quite good in the restaurant but the hotel does cater for large tour groups, something we prefer to avoid. Not sure about security, particularly in the restaurant. Panajachel is over touristy and in retrospect I would not have chosen it as a place to stay, however I would definitely recommend Lake Atitlan as a place to visit.
Pros: We confirmed our reservation a room with a lake view the most expensive one. Upon arrival we were told that they did not have the room. We got downgraded to a dirty room with no view at the same price. I went online to book another room and the room with the lake view was available.
Cons: We were treated very disrespectful. The room was dirty and it included roaches, spiders and full of dust.
Pros: The location. The grounds were breathtaking. It was just as I expected. Our team was there for a one night rest after our mission trip in Chichicastanengo. It was perfect for some rest and relaxation.
Pros: Location, views staff and secure parking.
Cons: Room was slightly dark without view but we didn’t need that.

Pros: Location. Size of the room. The sauna and the natural water pools are great. Staff are very helpful and correct.
Cons: 2 beds and not 1 big. Stream of water is a bit strange in the shower that wasn't perfectly clean.
Pros: + thermal baths, clean and very nice + nice garden + safe parking, 24h guard + clean room + breakfast good
Cons: - wifi only by reception and very slow... - no towels for the thermal pools
Pros: The thermal pools are amazing, we only used it once but that's our fault. Very helpful staff
Cons: Bed was a bit small for a couple
Pros: SPA and SAUNA is really good.
Cons: The staff in the reception was not really friendly. shower wáter was not hot.
Pros: Hot springs. Large rooms
Cons: No wifi in the rooms.
Pros: Great location, the hot tub and garden is a plus. Price was good as well.
Cons: Bathroom was very small considering the rooms from last year and the other two rooms that we had as well this time around. Staff could be a little friendlier considering other places we travel to in Guatemala and in Panajachel itself.
Pros: Great location , close to lots of restaurants and only a few minutes walk from the lake. Thermal pools are wonderful, I could stay a whole day in them Friendly helpful staff
Cons: No fan in the bedroom Ants in the bathroom (but there's loads of lovely plants around outside, so not a huge surprise) Wifi only works in reception Quite pricey
Pros: Very clean hotel, good value for money, nice spa, very good breakfast
Cons: Cold shower, quite old furniture
Cons: the rooms did not have air condition
Pros: Good hotel, good position, room is comfortable and clean, bathroom is very large and clean. Staff is very kind.

Pros: The peaceful and relaxing atmosphere

Cons: The restaurant was not open for dinner. But we were able to go next door to the Hotel Atitlan.
Pros: The views, the bed, the pool, hot tub, food, service. It was clean and staff helpful. Room service was great too.
Cons: I hate the big ugly condos behind hotel. it's a horrible site when you are at the beach and look back to your hotel and see that monstrous looking buildings. The pillows are paper thin! please replace your pillows. they are awful!
Pros: The hotel is very private and quiet, few rooms. Located 10min by tuk tuk (10Q pp) from Main Street and just next to the nice Natural Reserve and beautiful gardens from Hotel Atitlan. The restaurant serves breakfast and lunch, so plan you dinner outside or bring take away food. It has a great hot shower and a good bed.
Cons: My mum missed so much to drink coffee night time, we asked at reception at 6pm but they just said the kitchen was locked and even we could buy the coffee would’ve hot water. I missed local touristic information available at reception also.
Pros: nice location
Cons: The pool was not heated, and the jacuzzis not hot enough
Pros: The hotel was beautiful
Cons: The bed
Pros: I love the outdoor shower
Cons: I would have liked a more affordable price, I thought it was too pricey. The hotel did not have the kitchen available after breakfast.
Pros: Fresh place with a lot of vegetation.
Pros: The grounds were nicely kept
Cons: Too expensive and the restaurant was only available for breakfast
Pros: Beautiful property! Loved the hot tub, sauna, kayaks! My friend and I even took a dip in the lake!
Cons: Having dinner on the property would be nice. Although the hotel next door is lovely.
With a stay at Rancho Grande Inn in Panajachel, you'll be within a 5-minute walk of La Galeria and Casa Cakchiquel Arts Center. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, a safe deposit box at the front desk, and a water dispenser. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The breakfast was decent but in no way made up for the shortcomings
Cons: WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. The photos are false advertisements. We saw three of their rooms, the first was due to accidentally showing us the wrong room but none of which matches the photos of the room we expected and paid for. The WiFi in the our actual room didn’t work - and due to my friend’s work requirements we HAD no choice but to change rooms. The only other room available - Outdated with no hot water, dirty walls and carpets - cobwebs in several corners, a spider in my bed, paint stripping, horrible exhaust fumes due to huge gap under the door, USED TOWELS (hairs found on them before usage). The photos show modern bedding and furniture as well as bathroom fixtures. Our room was filthy. Some of the outlets didn’t work so charging devices was a challenge. We would have eaten the cost to change hotels but there were no other vacancies by that time. Our “room” was two rooms joined by a Jack and Jill bathroom but access to the outside from my side required going through the bathroom and the other room because my bedroom door was permanently locked and the hinges removed. The lighting was ghetto rigged by running electrical cords and dangling them from the ceiling, and there were some tacky holiday lights under a net web that didn’t even work. There was a pitcher of water in our room but given that they weren’t expecting to offer it to us, I seriously think it was sitting there from the previous visitors. The view was of the street and subsequently we had exhaust fumes leaking into our room all night because the draft due to the door gap was so big. After booking.com spoke to them on our behalf we were able to shorten our stay from 2 nights to 1 but they refused to give us a discount for the night despite all the deficiencies. The total for 1 night was 630Q; when we checked out they tried to charge us over 900 which is well above the additional taxes. They don’t have a good bookkeeping system so I had to show them my app to secure the price.
Pros: The breakfast is very delicious and special with their yeast pancakes. I love the way they decorate with typica and that it had a fireplace that they even came over to light for us. It has lovely grounds and places to relax
Cons: The shower was very small and sometimes a little uneven. And I would suggest that they install more outlets so that you can charge phones and tablets
Pros: The room and the garden
Cons: bathroom was rather poor. The resrevation did not reach the hotel or in other words, they did not have any reservation for us and wanted to charge me more than the booked amount was.
Pros: Great service and excellent breakfast.
Pros: Great Breakfast !!!!! Excelent HOtcakes !!!!!!
Pros: Good breakfast was included. Green area near rooms. Helpfulness of front desk staff.
Pros: The staff was very helpful. All went well.
Cons: First room was small and dark. Staff moved us. Second room very nice.
Pros: nice yard, good location
Cons: breakfast was terrible, pool dirty
Pros: The courtyard was nice and quiet. Staff were friendly, but very little English.
Cons: Booking.com has charged the wrong amount for this room. It should have been 80us same as Dos Mundos. The room amounted to 135 Cad. WHAT!! The site quoted in pesos but was charged in quesales. Huge error. Pls fix
Pros: The breakfast was delicious and the facilities were lovely, clean, and comfortable.
