There wasn’t any tea and coffee facilities in the room
A lovely, clean, quiet, well-kept guest house run by a warm and welcoming family. We booked a triple room, this was exactly what you'd expect it to be: a double bed, a converted sofa bed (good for a child or an adult, we took turns!), very well heated, lots of hot water, no particular frills (apart from a TV) but none expected or wanted. In the basement, there is a 'wellness' area, open from 16:00-19:00 daily, facilities included two showers, a hot sauna, a warm sauna, and some relaxation areas - so more than just 'a sauna' as advertised on booking.com and a really nice extra, not least after a good day's skiing. In the summer there is a medium-sized swimming pool in the garden but of course that is out of action in winter. The included breakfast buffet provides a great start to the day, with all the usual things you'd expect: cold meats, breads, bacon & eggs, cereals/mueslis, juices, hot drinks, etc. The room contains an information pack with all that you need to know, in German and English. We would definitely recommend Haus Amaris as attractive, good value-for-money accommodation in this resort and expect to visit again ourselves in the future.
No complaints about Haus Amaris at all. Rather just a couple of things to be aware of: 1) there is no laundry machine available (which, to be fair, seems to be pretty standard) so you need to bring the clothes you need or hand wash things as you go (and things do dry pretty quickly on the heated towel rail); 2) you need to be aware of the property's location: up the hill from the main Soelden 'strip' and therefore how to get to and from the property (unless you have a car). There is a scheduled but relatively limited bus service that runs between Amaris and the main Gaislachkoglbahn lift: 4x buses down to the main lift in the morning (maybe 45 mins between each bus) and 4x buses back up in the afternoon. There is also a funicular approx. 10 minutes' walk from the front door, which runs constantly until about midnight. In the evening, we treated ourselves to a taxi twice, the cost was about 11-12 euros. But so long as you are aware of your options and plan accordingly, none of this is really a negative!!
Great house on terrific location. Excellent breakfast. And, most of all, very friendly and helpful staff!
Very friendly and caring atmosphere
breakfast to finish at 10.0 not 9.30am
The room and the hotel in general are clean.
Owners doesn't speaks a fluent english. We asked some advices about excursions around Solden, they kindly tried to explain...but we got these infos in an other way. We had the sensation that if you aren't austrian or german they consider you differently
