Cons: Could not rent the car
Pros: The only good thing about this experience was that they offered to switch the vehicle they gave me with the van I reserved; and they delivered it to where we were staying, but it was halfway through our trip and we had already done almost all of our driving in a VERY uncomfortable SUV .
Cons: > I was not given the van I was told on my receipt that I ordered. The small SUV they gave me BARELY fit all of us and our luggage - which we had to have under our feet and on our laps - very dangerous and EXTREMELY uncomfortable. > They offered to switch the vehicle with the van I ordered - which they had rented to someone else - halfway through our trip. We accepted, but we had already done 90% of our driving in the small SUV. Not really helpful. > I had to spend an additional $25/day (amounting to another $300) for insurance, although I had already purchased a plan through Alliance, which was suggested when I booked the vehicle online. There was nothing that stated this was not going to be valid in Ecuador, but that's what I was told and as a result I HAD to purchase the other insurance. HORRIBLE, EXPENSIVE EXPERIENCE
Car insurance way too high and mandatory even if you have one
Pros: Car was clean and pick up / dropoff was fast.
Cons: I reserved the car via Internet indicating that I did not need insurance (I have one included with my credit card for car rental). Once on site, they obligated me to take the insurance which almost doubled the cost. Very frustrating and once you are there, you almost have no choice, especially when you arrive late at night.
"MANDATORY INSURANCE" COST MORE THAN RENTAL!
Pros: Clean car. Reliable car.
Cons: Much older than car advertised. Waived insurance on online form. Rented car for $200. Paid nearly $250 for $800 worth of "mandatory insurance."
Bad service, old, dented car
Pros: We could rent the car for two days during the holidays.
Cons: We could not pick up the car without purchasing the I sureance of sixt. We already purchased an insurance during the booking of the car, so we had to pay double. I called customer service but they were no help at all and costed me even more due to the I ternational calls. Please don't sell insurances that later are not accepted by the car rental office. This is pure deception.
