Cons: It was everything perfect!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Paradise on Earth. There is no other place like the Waldhaus in Sils Maria.
Cons: Nothing
9,0 Excellent
Pros: My stay was a truly wonderful experience and I can definitely recommend it to anyone looking for fun activities, relaxation and more. The hotel offers so much and caters to all age groups. Lots of activities for families as well. The food is outstanding and I especially liked the breakfast buffet.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Nothing to say, it was fine Your place is so agreable than I would prefer to be served like a princess but life has changed and no more like that !
Cons: After dîner, we had big pleasure to hear the orchester with a digestive glass. We were fine but suddenly, the orchester stop for 20 mins and had to ask if they come back. They came back finaly but too late, the atmosphere was cutted and decided to leave. With the music, we probably took an other glass, it was so dreamly.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Family hotel optima forma
Cons: Nothing!!!!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The staff, the professionalism, the property and the conveniences. I also enjoyed their wine list! All food was of a consistently high standard. The perfect place to spend our honeymoon.
Cons: Nothing of note.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: In a Swiss five-star hotel, you'd expect everything to work beautifully, and it does. What I didn't quite expect was the warmth of the staff, at every level. Oh, and if you feel tempted to save money by not taking the half-board option, you'd be making a great mistake: it is excellent value! The photo, by the way, is from an ordinary room, without the "view surcharge" - goodness only knows what the superior ones were like...
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything beyond expectation (dinners included), thank you.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Elegance, style and staff dedication to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The trio of classical music players added an excellent note of elegance and relaxation. Fruits and water are present on the hallway, invitingly. For tennis lovers there are 2 excellent clay courts and one indoor court (I did not see that one). Great choices at the breakfast buffet. Reading room, lounge, sun room and other areas deserve a visit.
Cons: Gym and pool close at 8pm. Restaurant kitchen closes at 9:30pm.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was excellent with an incredible choice of food and beverages. Food was from the region and tasted excellent. Half board dinner was of very good quality and offered very tasty dishes The hotel staff was extremely friendly and catered to all wishes
Cons: There was nothing which we did not like

Pros: We had the most lovely stay in this perfect hotel. Very friendly and helpful owner and staff; spotless room; great terras for sitting in the sun and enjoying the view. Pros: Extraordinary location, great service, friendly and helpful staff, three superb restaurants and a wellness facility with a gorgeous panorama in the resting area - a perfect place for relaxing and recharging your batteries.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Property in general. Location. Lobby, restaurant. SPA. Ski room is excellent Bathroom
Cons: Single rooms amenities and infrastructure. Bed and pillows. Not convenient to plug computer on the desk.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: It is a very romantic, quiet hideaway. We liked the kitchen tour, where we also got to know some historic background of the building and how the hotel works. There is a lot of commitment to the region and guests. Deluxe Doubleroom had a lot of space to put clothes away. Modern bathroom. Nice spa area. Free car parking but bus stop is also very close.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Staff is making great effort for guest's comfort, you see it and feel it, so it is really sweet.. Manager of the hotel is showing great presence, nice gesture. Food is great, service at restaurant has room to improve in computation to the reception.
Cons: Room is great, a very small one, single room is literally single room. I think it is fair, it kind of reflected the special deal I got.. Bath room is nice, but the shower is leaking water, floor got flooded after shower..
9,2 Excellent
Pros: I was travelling alone and they had single rooms, which made it much better value than most options. Basic, but comfortable - very Swiss German! Excellent hot tub and Spa area (great steam room). Also nice that mountain bike hire etc is included in the price. Amazing location if you love swimming, hiking, climbing, biking etc.
Cons: Charging CHF 40 for a “large gin and tonic please” (turns out Gin is CHF 20 *per shot*) was pretty horrendous.

9,6 Excellent
Pros: Nice location, comfortable room, amazing service and friendliness of staff
Cons: No issues
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was very good, but too much "bread oriented" (all kinds of breads)...No vegetables, tomatoes, potatoes...(and boiled eggs are never what you expect..) The rooms are very clean. The location is terrific, just in the middle of the 2 lakes the wood fire in the fireplace in one of the living rooms was great; having a drink there was really great
Cons: The heat is awful...coming from the ground, so no way to stop it. We had to open the window and got a cold. Rooms are not very well isolated so we can hear people coming late or early in the morning We have tested all 3 restaurants, and it's better to avoid them: the portions were really small, even the glasses of wine.
7,5 Good
Pros: Staff and the breakfast
Cons: Couldn’t find the reception at first - no clear signs. Room a bit cramped.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Exeptionally friendly staff that doesn't mind going the extra mile!
Cons: Double room was basically a twin room with two beds pushed together.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Everything was very good. Beyond expectation.
Cons: The coffee. It was probably filter coffee. Even in the restaurant in the evening.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful location, fine breakfast
9,6 Excellent
Pros: A beautiful hotel in an amazing region. The location is outstanding and highly recommended for nature-lovers. They also provide free bicycles and E-bikes for an additional charge.
Cons: Staff was not as friendly as you usually see in Switzerland, however it just might be personal.

Pros: My room was comfortable and well thought-out with plenty of plug points, lighting and surfaces. Breakfast (continental) and dinner were delicious and used only high-quality, mostly local, products. Best of all were the warm and kind staff.
Cons: I can't think of anything that could be better, but be warned there are four floors and no lift if you don't like stairs!

8,3 Excellent
Pros: Great location, friendly staff
Cons: Not much help on the hiking front from reception despite their best efforts
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing breakfast, amazing location, great staff, extremely clean, nice little spa after a day hiking, amazing little village (way better than St Moritz).
Cons: Very slow internet.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Nice surprise. Very nice standard, despite reasonable price for the single room. Friendly reception. Quiet room in modern classic standard. very clean. Good breakfast in wonderful decorated room. Locked skiroom. Very close to cross country tracks. The wellness sauna was also spanking clean and very nice. The finnish sauna is separate to low heat saunas, not a problem, well organised dressing rooms there. Bathrobe provided. As I came back from XC at around 15, there was hardly anyone there, cant say how full the wellness gets in the evening or high season. Didnt try the restaurant other than breakfast. Fast internet in the lobby.
Cons: Compared to a lot of other often overpriced bit run down hotels in Switzerland this place was truly a very nice surprise. Cant fault anything really. There was a problem with the internet in my room (regular drops outs, slow) but I think that had more to do that my room was a corner room. I informed the reception and they will look into it with a technician. So probably fixed by now.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location, friendly stuff, excellent food, peaceful sleep :-)
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent staff and quality service at all levels. Rare to find such attention to quality. Highly recommend

Cons: It's not cheap, even in the low season, and the room was a little on the small side. A fridge would be useful, too.

8,8 Excellent
Pros: Very cute room "chalet" style and quite calm. Reception offered me glass of Orange Juice at arrival. Food quality at breakfast is good and service is also good
Cons: Limited breakfast choice for a 4* hotel. Very small parking entry which requires great skills not to scratch your car on the wall. Most suited for small cars. The room bathroom is of outdated style probably from the 70s. Would require a bit of upgrade. Restaurant is average.
6,7 Good
Pros: Very good breakfast
Cons: The room
7,1 Good
Cons: Photos on the website do not show the bedroom that we were offered, the photos are much nicer with more Swiss character, our room was very basic and had no character.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Accessibility to many great hiking trails. Great breakfast. Good room view of mountains. Personable staff
Cons: No WiFi in room. Room a bit dated. Better ranked as a 3 Star, not a 4 Star at this time

Cons: Bathroom: shower door in plastic and difficult to open/close In the sink Taps are in plastic difficult to handle. Mattrass not very comfortable You do not expect plastic furniture in a 4 stars hotel.

8,8 Excellent
Pros: The location, atmosphere and services were excellent. Cozy room with ergonomic and rustic-wooden design with great view. The noise isolation, atmosphere and temperature controls were excellent. The restaurant (atmosphere, personnel, kitchen, wine list) were very good.
Cons: The mattress and pillow were old, unbalanced and not very comfortable.
7,5 Good
Pros: Nice hotel with a lot of wood, very characterful and great position Clean rooms and kind staff Good breakfast
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Located in the beautiful village of Sils Maria, much nicer than St Moritz in my view
Cons: Nothing
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Quiet, clean hotel, very good breakfast. Central location.
Cons: Surprisingly, though the breakfast is very good, the diner in the half board formula is very basic. All written information is exclusively in German, no English, French or Italian.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: I stayed here for 1 night in Sils Maria during the Snow Polo competition in St Moritz. One can reach the hotel using bus service from St Moritz train station. The rooms were quite comfortable and they also had nice breakfast at the start of the day. One can also have a la carte dinner at the hotel during the evening hours. Overall a comfortable stay in Sils Maria during the winter month.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Wonderfully quaint story book village a few miles fromSt Moritz. Quiet, peaceful place to walk and enjoy the country side in the beauty of an Alpine village
Cons: Nothing to report Basically fell upon this area through reviews and couldn't be happier. The fact that we awoke to several inches and giant falling flakes.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The restaurant was wonderful!
Hotel Cervo Sils - Sils im Engadin/Segl - Bedroom

8,3 Excellent
Pros: Really friendly and helpful staff. The panorama lounge on top of the hotel is the real highlight! It's gorgeous!! I discovered it by coincidence. My room also had a wonderful view and was clean and quiet.
Cons: It's a pity that the floor on the 3rd and 4th floors is carpeted in the rooms. In my opinion that really detracts from the quality of the room. Also, as there's no space to put shoes outside of the room - unless you use the ski room, which I think most people don't....it means the dirt gets onto the carpet. All around, a waste and more work for the cleaners.
8,3 Excellent
Cons: - Pillows are really uncomfortable. - Would be nice (also aesthetically) to have free slippers considering the price of the room
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The staff at reception and restaurant was very attentive and accommodating. Helpful in any aspect. The location was good to start out for various hiking trips. Easy to find. We came by car and used as well the local bus system. All in easy reach.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Nice location
Cons: When I first reserved a room, I reserved for 5 nights. I decided I should arrive a day early so wanted an extra night. For some reason, I couldn't change the dates of my reservation, so I made a new reservation for one night. The reservation came in at a ridiculously cheap rate, like 29 chf for the night. I thought it was some kind of special promotion, like "stay 6 nights and pay for 5" and was thrilled. A few days later I got a message that they had made a mistake with the reservation and were cancelling it. I do understand that the rate was untenable... yet if they had taken responsibility for their error, I would have been far happier.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Nicely designed and spacious room.
Cons: Had to wait for a dinner table in the restaurant.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is conveniently located on the edge of the village just a short walk from the cable car and the start of many walking paths. My room was spacious, very comfortable and had attractive decor. The bathroom was great, especially the shower. Enjoyed the breakfast and we also ate in the restaurant each evening. The food was good, if rather expensive, and the staff couldn’t have been better.
Cons: On two of the three mornings of my stay there was no hot water. This would have been bad enough in summer but as my stay coincided with a very cold snap and the first snow of the season it was particularly unfortunate. It was only on my final evening and morning that I was able to enjoy what was a wonderful shower. As is the case with most Swiss hotels, it would be good to be able to make a hot drink in the room.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Well located in a beautiful village in a beautiful part of the country. An easy walk to everywhere. Staff are great, the decoration very well done and the room was comfortable and very quiet. Really a great place to stay.
Cons: Nothing.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Large bedroom and bathroom, newly and stylishly decorated with loads of storage space, multiple plug points and full length mirror. Good quality breakfast, although limited selection. Excellent and good value pizza restaurant. Location is on the edge of the village, but convenient for bus stops and the one food shop. Staff generally pleasant and helpful.
Cons: Room was dark with small windows and the only lighting was bedside and desk lamp. It was chilly on the couple of unusually cold (for August) nights. Bedding not changed all week and towels only once - I guess they need to make savings to keep the price low.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Good pizza in the restaurant. Great little sauna too.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: the whole package

8,3 Excellent
Pros: Everything was very good and up to our expectation. Staff are really friendly and helpful.
Cons: The spa area is a bit out dated. Sauna is quite small. But overall not a big deal.
7,9 Good
Pros: Very dog friendly (25.- CHF per day): our room was equipped with 2 dog bowls, a large comfy dog bed and some welcoming dog treats. There are some towels on the hotel entrance to clean dog paws)) Stuff was helpful and polite, breakfast was good, room was clean, there is a spa, bar, ps4, cinema, air hockey, billiards, table tennis and what not.
Cons: On the checkout I was asked to pay for my stay in the hotel even though I mentioned that it was already payed via booking. The lady on the reception claimed that its impossible and charged me second time. The problem was solved after without any problem though! I was also asked to remove my car from the underground parking immediately after checkout, even though I payed for 2 days (13.- CHF per day)

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Quick walk to the ski shuttle and great customer service.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location, clean rooms, great restaurant!
6,7 Good
Pros: Sils Maria is a beautiful little village. The room at Hotel Schweizerhof was nice and also had a balcony. The food at the hotel restaurant also was nice and they have a huge menu.
Cons: The stay at Hotel Schweizerhof was a bit disappointing. The staff in general did not speak German very well. Most annoying was the fact that during our stay, it took them 2 full days to find our breakfast table. On the first morning we were promised that everything was settled for the next, which unfortunately was not the case. Also, at time of check-in I was not informed that the parking is at additional costs, which would be a necessity. Last but not least, a hotel that is called Hotel & Spa is expected to have a bit more wellness infrastructure. So all in all, we were disappointed with the staff as well as the infrastructure.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: - location - pool - nicely furnished room
Cons: - although I met the directrice by coincidence at the reception one day, she didn’t welcome me or ask for my name -> very impersonal, indeed!!!
Pensiun Chesa Pool - Sils im Engadin/Segl - Building
13
8,1 Excellent (136 reviews)
R2 811+
Overview Reviews
The Pensiun Chesa Pool was recently renovated in 2015, making it a fantastic choice for those staying in Sils Maria. At the end of a busy day, travelers can unwind and relax in the hotel or go out and enjoy the city. Travelers requiring pickup service can book this directly through the hotel. For those driving themselves, parking is provided on site.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Great location, just outside the village
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Location is just perfect if you are by car and not scared of walking 20 min on foot from parking to the hotel. Far from hustle and bustle. Nature and mountains are just around! Breakfasts are tasty and variable. Many marked trails for hiking start just from the door!
9,6 Excellent
Pros: It does not get much more beautiful surrounded by snow capped mountains, alpine multi coloured flowers, and green hills. The rooms were comfy, and the food fresh and delicious. The staff went out of their way to ensure their guests’ enjoyment.
Cons: It’s an uphill hike from Sils Maria taking approximately 40 minutes ( carrying luggage).
10,0 Excellent
Pros: It is a small 'pension' (i,e. hotel) at a very beautiful spot, just outside the village (about 30 minutes on foot, but they can pick you up from the village, if needed).
7,1 Good
Pros: The location was amazing and the views of the mountains and stream breathtaking. It was lovely to see cows grazing on the grassy slopes. The hotel had a good wine cellar.
Cons: The regimental and inflexible approach of the owner was not welcoming. We had dinner in the restaurant on one occasion and it was disappointing to discover for 42 Swiss francs per person, the 3 course menu was fixed i.e. one choice only for each course. On the night in question, the menu was salad for starter, buckwheat and melted cheese for the main course and ice-cream plus brownie for dessert. A little variety would have been preferable.
5,0 Okay
Pros: This could be the perfect mountain lodge. It looks very stylish and could be included in any modern design magazine. Its located in a pretty valley and facilities are modern. But things are not as pretty as they look.
Cons: Unfortunately this accomodation lacks any soul. First the welcome was very harsh. After a days walk we were told that there was nothing to drink or to eat and we were advised to go to another hotel (indeed a much better family run hotel). Then there was a discussion about my partner who was not expected, while the reservation clearly mentioned 2 persons. Probably staff is underpayed and therefore not very motivated to work for the owners who run this pension from a different location. Will certainly not return.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The setting was picture postcard perfect and the hotel, in a traditional building, fit the location. Add to that locally sourced food and country quiet and you have a great spot to relax and recharge.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great place to stay and enjoy the beautiful landscape. Staff very helpful. Friendly atmosphere.

Pros: Friendly & helpful stuff Great view on lake !
Cons: It should be clearly stated BEFORE RESERVATION IS MADE that cooking is not allowed in the top floor accommodation, eventhough the kitchen is fully equipped (vitroceram, oven, etc) !
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Very nice staff, central but quiet location, historic building, comfortable rooms even if last renovation appears not crescent.
7,5 Good
Cons: The heating was too high
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is located into a beautiful and very well-kept historical building, at the edge of Sils village. The free parking lot is a gift, considering the limited circulation and the lack of parking in the village. Buses stop just right outside the door, and they lead you anywhere around. Magnificent pedestrian/bike tracks spread in every direction, leading people to the mountains, through the meadows, by the lake: the surroundings are of outstanding beauty. Rooms are large and clean, very quiet. Breakfast is served in a beautiful room; the food is top quality. We had dinner in the hotel's restaurant for 3 nights: the food is top quality. The hotel offers many common rooms where to relax. I had a personal problem that caused me to stay one day less than foreseen. Although the cancellation policies did not allow it, the owners made me change the reservation with no penalty: this was much appreciated. Would stay here again!
Cons: This was the only hotel in Engadin that didn't give out the cards for free local transportation. This is a very bad minus, considering that the prices (of the hotel and of the public transport) are very very high: this service is very important to tourists, and the hotel should align its policies to this good practice!!! An evident lack of personnel (in respect to the number of rooms in the hotel and tables to be attended at the restaurant) causes the service (both lobby and restaurant) to be most of the times slow and/or inefficient. That's a real pity, because the single persons are kind and professional. Rooms are badly in need of refurbishment: old and rusty furniture, rugs, etc. The bed sheets are not white: this is a very bad practice (maybe OK in the 80s, but still...): white is the only acceptable color, because it's the only one that clearly shows the level of cleanliness.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Location, beautiful views, friendly family atmosphere
Cons: Bathrooms and furniture could be more modern
8,3 Excellent
Pros: - excelent location especially for nordic ski (just beside the track) but also for other sports in this area - ski-store with vaxing equipment, shoe store and many other facilities - vouchers for welcome drink and one meal in the restaurant - quiet area - private parking large enough - stylish old house
Cons: - wifi in limited area only, not in the room - quite narrow room, two high bedheads make it short for taller people
7,9 Good
Pros: Good for a night. The staff was great even if we had some issue with the reservation by booking.com
Cons: well, nothing to be noted I just don't like the moquette in every hotel...
7,1 Good
Pros: The room was clean and comfortable.
Cons: There was no WiFi in the room. Property does not offer free cards for cable cars and local buses if you stay for at least two nights. So you have to add the costs of cable cars to the price of the hotel room which makes it pretty expensive. In contrast, other hotels in the area give this offer. The reception was weird: when I told them that I was Russian, they became very suspicious. One person gave me information, another appologized and said it was wrong info. I did not like the people at the reception, not friendly stuff.
6,3 Good
Pros: It is a very simple hotel well located for the purpose of our short trip.
Cons: The room's window had no shutters just internal curtains without any kind of black out meaning that the bedroom was full of light as of 5:30 am and at 6:00 am we were "automatically awaken".
