Pros: We had such a nice stay at the Fairholme Manor. The hosts, Ross and Sylvia, couldn’t have been more welcoming and hospitable. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and homemade. The room was sparklingly clean and every detail was thought out. I was impressed with the level of privacy for a B&B- it was a great romantic getaway. We took our bikes and cycled into town along local bike paths and it was the perfect way to see the area.

Pros: Our stay was really wonderful! From Sylvia's welcome, to her restaurant and sightseeing recommendations—it couldn't have been any nicer, or more comfortable and accommodating. Sylvia and Ross were warm hosts and the homemade breakfast was delicious. The other guests were interesting, and the layout of the rooms gave everyone lots of space and privacy. It was by far our favorite place during our entire trip in northwest Canada.
Cons: Nothing!

Pros: overall a great experience!
9,6 Excellent
Pros: 1) Sherry, if wanted by adults (in the sitting room by the check-in desk), home baked cookies, chocolates, big bowl of clementines, coffee and tea ( and milk, cream, sweeteners), water dispenser with both cold and tea-hot water ( all in the dining room), and whatever was in the fridge, were available for all guests after 4:00 p.m. 2) Freshly brewed coffee (and milk, cream, sweeteners) ready by 7:15 a.m. in the dining room to take to your room if wanted before your previously chosen preference of a 8:00 or the 9:15 seating for their (very delicious) breakfast. For those who, because of travel arrangements, are unable to attend the two breakfast seatings, a bagged breakfast is available upon request. 3) Lovely Spa tub and walk-in shower in the bathroom, as well as a fireplace, sitting area by the fireplace, small t.v., and air conditioner in my one queen bed room. 4) Very friendly staff! The young man who served our breakfast offered to print for me the recipe for the croque madames that they served as the entree (following the lovely bowl of Greek yogurt with fresh strawberries, raspberries, blackberries and sliced bananas). 5) They welcome being told any allergies or other food requirements before arriving so they can make necessary adjustments to their breakfast menu. 6) Though the front desk closes at 8:00 p.m., there is a caretaker in the building throughout the night. He lives downstairs.
Cons: The loudness of the jets (Victoria International Airport) was bothersome for a while, before falling asleep, perhaps because everything else was so quiet and peaceful.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Location, Breakfasts and overall ambiance were excellent.
Cons: I would like to see an adjustable window lock on the window facing car park in the Blue Room.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: The location is great. Quite and reminded me of the British inn. Spacious room (we were in the suite).

8,8 Excellent
Pros: The inn staff, Syd or Sid is a superstar, always amazing and sincere. She is so down to earth and easy to talk to. Gay is a master of conversation with a pleasant demeanor. She is a damn fine cook.
Cons: There is a lack noise dampening insulation. Noise from people walking up the stairs & guests walking above our room. You could understand every word of people talking below in the lobby/dining room. You can honestly hear the dining room music better in our room than in the dining room. It is as if the speaker shared a vent that went to our room. I understand that they have had noise complaints in the past so..... We love the Beacon and the town of Sydney. We want to stay here again but only if stay on the top floor.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: We have been staying in Victoria for our anniversary for many decades. Prior Castle Inn is our favorite. Manager and chef Jeff cooks a delicious and elaborate buffet breakfast. This was the first time we stayed in the Nottingham chamber and were amazed at the spaciousness! We prefer the Rockland location, even though it’s a bit further from town than the downtown hotels. We like being able to walk one minute to Government House gardens, or five minutes down the hill to Starbucks and the waterfront boardwalk. Being in this gorgeous and quiet residential neighborhood of stately Manor homes is worth the extra few minutes in the car to get to downtown. We highly recommend this historic property
8,8 Excellent

Cons: It would have been nice to have 2 TV's in the room seeing that I had my children with me they climb into bed with me and my boyfriend to watch TV

9,2 Excellent
Pros: Super location, right on the harbor, a few short blocks to the BC parliament building, the Royal BC Museum, the Empress hotel, Fisherman's Wharf. Lovely gardens in front of the Inn. Just across the street from the ferry to Port Angeles. The tea and breakfast was excellent in a beautiful setting. We had windows on two sides of the house so could get air circulating in the evening.
Cons: The breakfast had two set menus, which alternated by day, so became somewhat repetitive--delicious, but would have been too much the same after four days. (If the weather had been hot, the room could have been quite uncomfortable.)
10,0 Excellent
Pros: It far exceeded our expectations. The staff was welcoming and helpful. We even got a handwritten note welcoming us from Michael, the manager. When we expressed interest in knowing more about the history of the family and property, Michael provided us with a well written document he created. The food was yummy, the accommodations comfortable and the ambiance relaxing.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Elegant. Historic. Peaceful. Comfortable. Location, gardens, view - spectacular!
7,1 Good
Pros: The achitecture of the building did not disappoint - it is beautiful, albeit a bit rundown. The Pendray Room was lovely, romantic, bright and a good size, with a comfortable bed and large bay windows, overlooking the street and harbour. We were able to sit out on the balcony attached to the room and listen to the Blues Bash Music Festival from there. The Pendray Inn is in a good, walkable location, staff were friendly and the breakfast/tea was delicious.
Cons: As mentioned, we loved the building but were sad to see it was run down in appearance; most exterior surfaces were in need of cleaning/paint resurfacing and our room had a large stain on the carpet. Although the linens/towels in the bedroom, bathroom and teahouse appeared crisp and clean, there was dust on most exterior surfaces, spider/cob webs in several of the main level interior room corners/fixtures, the what-could-be-gorgeous hardwood floors were dull/unpolished and there was spider web debris and dead flies sitting on the window ledge at our table in the breakfast room. We understand it's an old building but that wasn't what we anticipated, considering we spent $400/night for the experience. The staff were lovely and friendly but it seems they could use a full-time maintenance person on site. One other aspect we hadn't considered; if you are considering booking The Pendray Room, expect line ups of passerbys to take photos of the house (along with you) when you are on the balcony and in your room. It is such a lovely property and although we enjoyed the "Victorian romance" aspect of our stay, we would think twice about paying that much there, in future.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: When you stay in a hotel with an English tea service in the restaurant expect a tasty English style breakfast. Great location across the street from the Victoria Clipper terminal. Close and very walkable to all the sights in downtown; excellent location.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: I would say good but not exceptional
Cons: The lack of a proper shower in the bathroom was the only real major issue.

Pros: Breakfasts were great - a different cooked breakfast each day. No cereal offered or available . Fruit and yoghurt offered each morning.
Cons: The shower over the bath in the ensuite was hard to operate as the handles were at bath level . Water temperature and pressure hard to get right.

Pros: Very helpful and accommodating.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Heather, the lady at the front desk, was absolutely phenomenal! She was super friendly and offered us some amazing suggestions for food. The eggs Benedict was incredible and the bed and breakfast was very cute!
Cons: The door stop to our room (garden room) made it a bit difficult to close as it would keep falling. Might need to tighten or replace it.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely the best place in Victoria! The surrounding garden is amazing. Breakfast was superb!
Cons: Nothing! It was spectacular!
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast; great local ambiance; lovely garden; clean; friendly, helpful staff
Cons: Reservation system made a mistake, but it got corrected.
6,7 Good
Pros: Duncan was a great host and provided helpful information. The breakfast was first class and the staff were friendly and proficient. The server handled a very demanding family with ease and courtesy. The atmosphere and decor of the heritage home is well maintained.
Cons: The room we occupied was quoted as being cozy, very small would have been a better description. I appreciate the ambiance of the guest house but feel it is more expensive than it should be.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful breakfast, very accommodating to my boyfriend’s dietary restrictions! Duncan and Sergio seemed committed every day to making sure everyone had the best time possible.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Location is excellent for walking to restaurants and shopping or just going for a beautiful walk. The staff is friendly and very helpful They offered to carry our suitcases upstairs, very helpful with directions and places to visit. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. There is a nice sunroom for sitting and reading or watching tv. You can also sit outside on the premises which is very relaxing. Just remember that it is in the Victorian style which has lots of dark wood and smaller type rooms. There is plenty of hot water for showering. People in Oak Bay town are extremely friendly and helpful. The area is very safe. The restaurants are great and the shopping is delightful. We loved the galleries. We would definitely come back. This area was our favorite in Victoria.
Cons: Afternoon snacks would be nice.

Pros: Staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was perfect -- walking distance to both Beacon Hill Park (which your staff recommended, and we loved) and the waterfront and everything we wanted to see in the city. We enjoyed the spacious, clean accommodations. I really liked the oscillating fans, which were quiet and efficient. We appreciated the opportunity to enjoy the delicious chocolate toffee for free because we declined to have our linens replaced (which we would have done anyway, to support the environment). My daughter loved the private movie theater.
Cons: Not the most comfortable bed - the mattress was a bit too hard, and the pillows way too over-stuffed.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Our room should have included a washer and dryer but it was out for service. The hotel did our laundry for free with a quick turn around. This hotel is in a fantastic location, we highly recommend it.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: It was so nice
Cons: Could've been more hot tub jets
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable and spacious suites.
9,1 Excellent
Pros: Luxurious rooms, lots of space, great service and staff
Cons: Did not provide enough toiletries, no air conditioning, could not close top windows
10,0 Excellent
Pros: I loved this hotel- it felt so luxurious with out the price tag. We had deluxe suite and we will definitely return.. It was close to the harbour and we could walk everywhere. The soaker tub was very relaxing, nice little touches like washer dryer and ipad doc made it even better We enjoyed it all very immensely
Cons: fireplace didn't work in either room and the hot tub jets were not very strong
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great rooms with everything you need
7,4 Good
Cons: We stood in line for 15 minutes (I counted) while ONE staff member dealt with ONE check-in ahead of us. (And there were people behind us...). Sure, she apologized when it was my turn, but who cares? Why didn't she call another staff member to check in others and speed things up? Why wasn't I offered an upgrade, or free drink at the restaurant, or one day free parking, or something as compensation? And we were staying 3 nights. Nope. A perfunctory apology was all I got. And don't tell me that a manager somewhere wasn't monitoring the various security cameras which observe that check in desk, so they knew - but apparently didn't care. Shameful. Very, very disappointing for a supposed luxury hotel.
9,1 Excellent
Pros: Nice roomy suite
Cons: Unfortunately no hotel room in Victoria is truly affordable anymore.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The room, facility and service were all exceptional. Very impressed!

8,3 Excellent
Pros: Nice location and quite. Its a very comfortable accommodation. The owner lady is very friendly. Accommodation is clean and I will love to come back here.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: I have never stayed in a B&B before (didn't like the idea of being in someone else's house) but Weirs Beach Lodge's owner, Marg, made me feel so welcome and comfortable. She explained everything then attended to little acts of kindness along the way e.g. Got up early on my day of departure to make sure coffee was made. The house and grounds (right on a lovely beach) are fabulous. Has a yoga studio so I imagine a retreat there would be exceptional.
Cons: Parking lot is a bit tight for 6 cars - no parking if you have visitors.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The place and its owner Margaret are very nice. The ocean view is amazing. The room is large, exceedingly clean, with everything imaginable for a truly romantic getaway including a very comfy king size bed. The hot tub under the stars was out of this world! The place is so quiet, you would think you are there alone. And the My Chosen Cafe 5 minutes up the road is sumptuous, be it breakfast or dinner!
Cons: - The sign on the road is almost impossible to see, especially at night. - We arrived at 8:15pm but the place seemed dead. With the phone on low battery, it took us some effort to make contact with the owner. Some means of internal communication would be nice. - It may have been the low season but we were surprised at total absence of services in the area. After dark, everything goes dead. No restaurants, very few gas stations, to say nothing of the nightlife; instead, incredible number of gyms, pharmacies, and real estate agencies.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: My partner and I enjoyed the place so much. It's so serene and beautiful. The place was very neat. The beach is literally 30 seconds walk and not busy at all. It's away of the crowd which makes it very calming. We both really felt like we were on a vacation. The host was very accomodating and approachable. There are so many things to also enjoy at this place not only the beach but also the hot tub and almost an area to do some yoga.
Cons: It's about 30-40 min. drive from downtown so if you wanted to spend time lots in downtown, it'll be a drive.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable bed, quite location. Excellent beach and access to the beach, unbelievable view of the Ocean. Private outside door to our room.
Cons: Could have been better sound proofing from the floor above as we like to sleep in. If you are a morning person there would be no issue.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: We had a wonderful stay here. It is one of the cleanest places I've stayed. There is literally everything you need at the house. It was a very short walk into town. There is a pet store and health food store within 5-10 mins walk from the house. Sidney is a cool little town with good places to eat and fantastic views. It's about a half hour drive away from Victoria so it doesn't have the crowds and traffic of the big city.
Cons: If I had to pick something I didn't really like it would be that the bedroom has big windows so the morning sun woke us up before we wanted to be up. Some people like that though. So it's just my opinion. It is a great place to stay and I would stay again.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great facilities in a great location. There was outside living space as well. And, sporting equipment. Check-in was very easy.
Cons: Nothing comes to mind.
7,9 Good
Pros: Location was great if you want to be walking distance to everything. The little touches in the kitchen and the bathroom were wonderful. It felt like a nostalgic getaway that I used to have as a kid with my family. The other folks staying at the property were awesome as well. The grounds were so well maintained and lovely. We wish we had the time to charter a sailing or use the kayaks that were provided for guests. Next time!
Cons: Bring ear plugs to sleep though if you're sensitive like me. The property is close to the airport and wow, those planes are LOUD.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The kitchen was very well equipped and the studio suite was spacious and very comfortable.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Decor, Spotless. Comfortable. Home away from home. Next time in Victoria, this is the place. We wanted to extend our stay but had to work. It's that good. Passing the info to family and friends.
Cons: Not being able to stay more.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Self contained with everything you need and very central.
Cons: Loved everything
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The beds were very comfortable. The extra touches of yogurt, cheese, coffee and goodies was very nice. Great location to walk to main Sidney. Our host offered suggestions for dinner locations. Very comfortable and welcoming!
7,1 Good
Pros: Roomy living space and well equipped kitchen with BBQ. Pretty garden. Walking distance to the town.
Cons: Small bathroom with toilet in it, insufficient for 3 bedrooms. We had a problem with our two suite booking being “upgraded” to one 3 bedroom, 1 bathroom unit without our agreement. Our friends found other accommodation as we did not want to share the bathroom. Daren did give us the unit at a cheap rate and apologised for the inconvenience. I was under the impression that a cooked breakfast would be provided, but we just got a small selection of oats and yoghurt in our unit. The noise from planes flying overhead was quite intrusive.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The house we rented was very spacious and equipped with everything you needed. Very comfortable beds. Darren is a very helpful host.
Cons: Since the house is close to the airport you do have the noise from all the planes.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Darren was an exceptional host and his recommendations for dining at the Surly Mermaid were right on. The studio suite was much more than what the on-line photos and narrative depicted. We have had some great accommodations in Sidney over the years, but this has been the best.
Cons: Some facial tissue would have been nice, which is very minor, but I have to keep typing to make this section go green for a reply to be accepted.

Pros: Very cute, clean and cozy. Very quiet and peaceful including the gated yard and waterfall. On a dead end street, so quiet traffic wise also.

Pros: Anne has been a superb host to us during our stay, offering many helpful tips and acts. We enjoyed her hospitality very much !
Cons: The location was a bit further from downtown as we assumed before.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Breakfasts were outstanding and Michell and Ann were wonderful hosts. Our bed was very comfortable and we slept so well.
Cons: The shower was awfully small. The blinds needed replacing and the sliding glass door was in need of work, as it was difficult to open.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful location. Great for walks along the coast or through the wooded park across the road. Just a few hundred metres from Clover Point parkrun. The establishment was welcoming and relaxed. Bed was comfortable, shower was good, Wi-Fi worked easily, and breakfast was very tasty.
Cons: All good.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Owner very kindly, position like a dream
Cons: Only one thing : all lights are turned on the whe night in the whe Manor. Ecologically would be better to switch them off
7,5 Good
Pros: Location right by a lovely walkway along the water. Close to a little village-y area with a couple of good, casual eateries.
Cons: Place seemed a little rundown. Also would have probably been more convenient and fun to stay in the heart of town, nearer to the attractions (harbor, museum, shops, and really good restaurants).
8,8 Excellent
Pros: We enjoyed this BnB quite a bit. In addition to the great location the people at the Dashwood were very accommodating to us and we greatly appreciate that, and we would definitely return here. Breakfast was excellent and changed each day.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything!
Cons: Nothing
3,8 Mediocre
Cons: First, the price was advertised as one thing and after booking had a conversion rate. They knew there was a conversion before I booked, I did not. The room was not representative of what I saw on line, the mattress sagged, carpet was dingy, the decor was cheap, no ironing board or soap for your hands.

Pros: The location is great. Staff are friendly.
Cons: There is no security for access to room floors from the elevators! Management was unaware of continuous construction noise throughout the day in a room I accepted by default because the room I booked wasn’t ready at 3:30pm local time.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Very very nice staff. We really enjoyed our stay in Victoria. This hotel greatly contributed to our enjoyment. We highly recommend this hotel.
7,0 Good
Cons: The breakfast buffet was awful. The scrambled eggs were made out of powder and the potatoes looked like stones and were hard like stones. There was a little, little selection of cold meat and cheese. I could hardly find it and was stuck on the plates (I guess it was prepared the night before).
