Pros: The Hotel Sacher was a charming hotel with an interesting history. We did lots of walking and It was conveniently located to shopping, site seeing and restaurants. The staff was great and very helpful during our stay. In the evenings we enjoyed having cocktails in the bar while listening to pianist play. The Hotel Sacher is a great place to stay!!
6,3 Good
Pros: Reception staff, housekeeping and room service staff were all excellent.
Cons: The price for a river view room was too much given the poor quality of the Salzburg view. Having just come from Prague and Budapest, Salzburg's skyline is pretty dull. Also, construction made getting to the room tricky.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: always available, always ready to assist
Cons: rooms are small and it is always a fight to get a room with a view
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel is conveniently located for festival goers. Facility is old and room small.

Hotel Himmelreich - Wals-Siezenheim - Building
11
9,0 Excellent (427 reviews)
R2 199+
Overview Reviews
In a quiet location in Wals, 5 km of the historic centre of Salzburg, the family-run Hotel Himmelreich features a sauna and a garden with a swimming pool. Bicycles and Wi-Fi access are provided free of charge. Each room has a private bathroom, a minibar and most of the rooms feature a balcony. Free private parking is available at the Himmelreich Hotel.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful family owned hotel! Everyone was friendly and helpful. Charming hotel and wonderful views. The breakfast was great!
4,2 Okay
Pros: Views (when the clouds were up) are of the alps and breathtaking. Lovely pool Balcony
Cons: Noisy near airport (which did close at night) but we could hear freeway all night. Location was in a cluster housed area. No air conditioning and it was 35 degrees and humid, hence our doors open all night.
5,4 Okay
Pros: Proximity to the discount retail store and the bus stop
Cons: No porter service to move luggage ( was told that’s how family run hotels are- should have been specified in description while booking) no electric kettle in the room to make tea or coffee ( once again was told the same story as above). What surprises me was the mini bar prices were same as all the hotel chains I stayed in. Also I moved 3 rooms in 3 nights because apparently the room which was given to us for first night (supposed to be modern) was more like a cramped box. For 2nd night I was moved to a different room ( bigger and nicer with massive balcony) and was told that would have to vacate as someone has specifically asked for this room on our 3rd night stay—-well they could have adjusted the other guest but no we had to again switch rooms. And well this other guest never showed up. Worst was when we checked out and asked to leave our luggage near reception for an hour before our taxi arrives, I felt they agreed reluctantly and were not too happy about it. Other than this experience everything else was great, the hotel itself is very beautiful and clean. They have free bicycle which can be used to go to nearby places.
7,9 Good
Pros: The attractive, good quality furnishing of the room. Excellent location for the airport. Fantastic breakfast.
Cons: There was a washbasin in the toilet but no soap. The receptionist on duty when we checked in was extremely officious and almost hostile. Of course forms have to be filled in but I resent being spoken to in a certain tone and treated as untrustworthy because I have a British passport and an Austrian address. I had just collected my 82-year old mother from the airport and she felt most uncomfortable at being ignored at check in. I also overheard the receptionist being abrupt with other English speaking guests. Maybe she is xenophobic. We simply did not feel welcome or comfortable. Otherwise everything was ok as were the other staff.
7,5 Good
Pros: It took us only about 10 mins to walk from the hotel to Salzburg Airport, yet our room was totally quiet: didn’t hear a thing overnight. There’s a pleasant garden behind the hotel with a natural-style swimming pool (icy in mid-September!).
8,8 Excellent
Pros: We booked a room with jacuzzi but without waterbed. The woman by the reception said that they normally could not fulfill this request because when you book a room you just get one. But we got the room we wanted . Further is the hotel staff very friendly.
Cons: You can hear the neighbor's go to the toilet.

The hotel is a beautiful old building, kept in good shape. Location was about 15 minutes walk from Salzburg old town. Umbrellas were supplied for the rainy day. We didn’t get to try breakfast. We regret not doing so.
Cons: I would suggest an update of pillows & linen. Crisp white makes a statement. Having said this the linen provided was good, but it could be great.

9,2 Excellent
Pros: The room we stayed in was very spacious. The balcony off of our room was very large and a nice place to sit and relax in the evenings. After we had left, I realized that I forgot a book in the room. 7,3 Good
Pros: This was my second stay in the hotel and everything was just fine. The location is a bit off from the town centre but, with a car, the free parking eased me a lot of headache to finding a decent parking lot near the centre. Staff were all kind, helpful and jolly.

7,7 Good
Pros: The room was very comfortable, with a balcony you could walk out to. The bathroom and the amenities provided were excellent. It took around 15 minutes to walk to the centre (but that was known when I reserved) but I found the stroll very pleasant as it was through a green park and a promenade along the river.
Cons: There were no elevator and restaurant service except for breakfast.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Great hotel, not far at all from the city centre. Lovely room with attentive and professional staff. One of the best breakfasts we have had on any vacation in Europe. 8 kinds of honey, preserves, cheeses, cereals, the works!

Pros: Spacious. Very contemporary.
Cons: Though it had air conditioning, the rooms were too big for adequate cooling.
8,2 Excellent
Pros: Location. Great staff. Breakfast buffet was amazing.
Cons: Pillows are useless. Shower has a really low ceiling.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Great little boutique hotel in a great location. Easy to get to, but also easy to walk around from and see all the sites. The breakfast at this hotel was amazing too. Best one out of 2 week trip in Austria and Italy.
Cons: The bed was a little firm for my taste and per European usual, the pillows were too smooshy.
9,1 Excellent
Pros: Conveniently located in the town center, near restaurants and shopping.
Cons: A bigger elevator - the elevator was tiny, only allowing 2 guests with luggage to go upstairs at a time. Otherwise, can't really complain much.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Bed was awesome and really liked the architecture of the room
Cons: We had to wait for the room for like 20-30 minutes.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast is quite delicious, location is good.
Cons: Room overpriced and small room. Bed mattress is not very comfy. The town is small that location of hotel is not too big a problem, attractions are close to each other.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice decor, bathroom fixtures, bedding, and towels.
Cons: No coffee/tea making amenities in the room. Very surprised considering similar properties offer these amenities.
6,0 Good
Pros: Overpriced. Nice location. Nice restaurant. Room ok. Staff not very friendly or helpful.
Cons: Bedding not so good. Pillows too flat. Duvet too small. Mattress too thin.

Pros: Overall, I like the hotel.
Cons: No restaurants, cafes nearby. I need to walk almost 2 km to reach Altstadt (old town) where all good restaurants, cafes, and shoppings are. But, this hotel have a nice restaurant or bar (I didn’t try it, but from the look I believeI they are nice). I feel this hotel is good for business people who just want a nice room where they can relax after long meeting or whatever. Not for a tourist

Pros: Good location for what we had planned as had a lot of cars with us for a charity race event www.wackyracesuk.com and were very safe and easy parking. Looks great and well set out, did not use all the facilities myself but my friends did and all good.
Cons: The bar area is a little cramped and the breakfast staff not very attentive, the coffee machines not working.

Pros: A lovely old hotel in a great central location. The breakfast was delicious with eggs to order. Room was lovely and the bed was very comfortable. I would definitely stay here again.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Stadtkrug is in a great location on a quite pedestrian lane in Salzburg. Only steps to outdoor cafe's and shops as well as Mirabell Palace and garden and the river. Desk staff was quite helpful including warming up our leftover pizza from another restaurant and seating us near the window. We enjoyed the outdoor rooftop dinner of beef stroganoff and spätzle. Room was clean but small and modern.
7,5 Good
Cons: The box shower, narrow and slippery!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very impressed. I travel a lot for work and I would definitely come back. Superior room was gorgeous. Breakfast was delicious. Wonderful recommendation to see Mozart concert at the fortress and discount tickets. Exceeded my expectations.
8,8 Excellent
Cons: Parking was very hard to find with the location of the hotel. Staff was super friendly! If you drive, be sure to go to Wolfgangsee.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast runs until 11 am. You can have a continental and/or cooked breakfast. Wide range of fresh and tasty Austrian food. The hotel is a 700-year building located in an oldy worldy narrow cobbled street (Linzer Gasse). Come out of the hotel and turn left and it is only a 5 minute walk to the river Salzach. You can walk to the railway station from the hotel in about 15-20 minutes. Come out of the hotel and turn right, then left onto Bergstrasse, go through Mirabellplatz onto Rainerstrasse and this road will take you all the way to the station.
Cons: Cannot thing of anything that we didn't like (except the weather!).
10,0 Excellent

Pros: The breakfast was delicious, the room was very nice and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I chose this hotel because of the reviews and the location. It was a short walk to a stunning Catholic Church where I attended Mass. That was an added plus for me! The location was also great for shopping, restaurants, sightseeing, etc.
Cons: Having a mini fridge would have been nice for drinks, etc.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was very good. Location with ideal. Very quite.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Big rooms , excellent location , Very clean , the staff are quite courteous And one of the excellent location to top it all
Cons: Nothing to be honest
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast service was spot on. They were great and the selection was nice. They even make eggs to order, which was nice. The bathroom was clean although the plumbing maintenance should be looked after. The shower couldn't keep the temperature constant so it varied from warm to cold to warm in the shower. Having similar problems before in our hotel in Dubrovnik, Croatia, I would advise they need to balance the water pressure in the system. The bathroom radiant heating is fantastic. Kept the bathroom warm all the time. Must also compliment the professional lady who always promptly replied to any enquiry I had. Very impressive!
Cons: It was raining when we arrived and there is no cover at the entrance for the car to park under. It was great though as the bellhop came out with an umbrella to welcome us and escort us to the lobby so that we remain dry. The bed mattress is uncomfortable. Time to buy new ones. Also may want to consider buying king mattresses instead of two singles out together. Chambermaid or laundry service should make certain that they don't leave any hair on the sheets after cleaning up.

Pros: Bristol hotel has a very warm and friendly front desk, the service is instant and attentive. Location is great, and the breakfast is very tasty, great place!
4,6 Okay
Pros: House flies in my room.
Cons: Depressing rooms and hotel. The pictures posted on hotel website and booking.com are deceptive. For the price of this hotel, you can book Sacher or Sheraton and will get much more in return for your money.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was beautiful with an excellent location. Our room overlooked the Mirabell Gardens and was quite spacious. This historic hotel was very nicely renovated. Most of the staff was quite nice.
Cons: We knew that many restaurants are closed on Sunday in Salzburg so we were looking forward to eating at the hotel dining room. Imagine our surprise when we found out the dining room is not open on Sunday. So we then tried to get a reservation for our last night there, Monday, and were told the dining room was unavailable until 8:30 PM due to being booked for a tour group. This same group descended on the breakfast buffet before we arrived on Tuesday morning and it was really picked over so we had to wait for items to be replenished.

Pros: Nice staff Near Salzburg 10 min by car Good breakfast
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Clean & spacious rooms, comfortable; parking nearby, breakfast available & good
Cons: Restaurant was closed on the night of our stay & we were referred to a restaurant nearby (Restaurant Rupertigau) which was absolutely below our expectations, especially when comparing to the quality of Hotel Koniggut. We had expected to be referred to a restaurant which is more in line with the style and quality of Hotel Koniggut. Quite pricy; not that cheap.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Quiet location 10min away from city. Great for recreation after exploring the City. Offers huge welness area. They were kind to switch it on only for us two. WOW! Comfortable box spring beds. We even had view to the mountain. Fresh and sufficient breakfast with lots of honey variations, tee sorts, freshly cooked omelette etc. We loved our stay there and would definetely recommend to others!

Pros: Very clean hotel with very good breakfast. Big room and a lot of free parking spaces.
Cons: Everything was ok.
