Pros: Everything, but mostly the owners and their attitude!
Cons: Nothing.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: A perfect family hotel to stay in the black forest. We stayed in an apartment for four persons for a week. The apartment was well equipment and was cleaned perfectly every day. The owner was there every day and gave us the best recommendations and guidance for activities and interesting points in the black forest. Absolutely adorable.

Pros: Everything was perfect. Great breakfast. The owner was super helpful and friendly
Cons: Nothing!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Monique and Felix are the most warm and welcoming hosts we have ever met. Everything was perfect! The room was super clean and nice. The breakfast is exellent , lots of variety and my kids were super happy with the hot chocolate Felix and Monique served them every morning. The location was perfect and the trip tips Felix gave us were exactly what we needed. So thank you for the great vacation. May your guests be always kind to you as you are to them!
9,2 Excellent
Pros: It's a serene place to stay, the host is kind and very helpful, the room is spacious, breakfast was great too, the place is close to the lake, Also, there is a free parking space within the premises The hotel provides the Red Card which makes it more attractive, especially if you want to go to the attractions it offers or you're coming with kids - it saves a lot of money
Cons: The couches in the room are worn out and need to be replaced there is no elevator, keep it in mind
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Lots of choice for breakfast including eggs, homemade bread, pastries, yoghurt and much more. We had a quadruple room which had loads of space with a lounge area separate from the bedrooms along with a fridge and tea/coffee making facilities. Everything was spotless and the owners very helpful: if we needed help with anything they were happy to advise. Dont expect any signs/menus/tourist info in the area to be in English, everything is in German but we found the locals to be very friendly and speak English freely once you speak to them
Cons: Nothing
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Exceeded our expectation in every regard. Felix was a wonderful host. We would stay again and recommend to anyone. Wonderful place to stay
Cons: Nothing

Pros: Hospitality at its best - all the staff were very warm and friendly, the food was delicious both for breakfast and dinner, the rooms were nice and clean, and the wellness facilities were excellent. Thank you for a wonderful stay, I'll be back!
Cons: -
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very friendly people The evening meal was very well taken care of. 4 course menu with choice between fish, meat and vegetarian dishes. The wellness area was pleasant with a super salt cave, done a nice nap in it.
7,5 Good
Pros: We spent five nights in this hotel. Very calm, located in the lovely surroundings of Schluchsee in the Black Forest. Room with a small balcony facing the garden, big bathroom and a nice wardrobe. Breakfast was excellent, with a good selection of almost everything you can think of. Free coffee/tea and cake in the afternoon was much appreciated. Dinner is a 5 menu course (starter, soup, salad bar, choice between meat, fish and vegetarian for the main course, cheese or desert) which we felt was too much, so we usually took only 3 out of 5 courses. The tables in the restaurant are dressed with care and we were impressed with the professionalism of the staff. The hotel has a very nice terrace where you can sit and have a drink, a small outside pool and one inside pool. Parking is also available free of charge. Most of the guests come from Germany, Swiss, Netherlands, France. With some exceptions, staff speaks English as well and some even French. The information center is just 5 min away from the hotel and you can find some info in English as well. The area offers a lot of opportunities for hiking lovers.
Cons: We didn't really like the food (dinner), but I guess that is very personal as we read many positive comments. Also we did not appreciate the fact that the bathroom and the toilet do not have real wall to wall doors, so not much privacy.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The staff are friendly and very helpful. I have been 3 times in 1 year and is the first place I think of when I want a relaxing time in a spa and I travel from the U.K.!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast and dinner was excellent. Hotel was very clean and silent.
Cons: The inner pool and wellness area was closed at 19:00 o`clock which is very early. It should be open at least until 21:00.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: They have great food and they offer coffee and cake for free. We had a great stay!
7,1 Good
Pros: we had a very nice room. swimming pool was excellent. close to the train and bus stations
Cons: the meal on my birthday , maybe it was a Monday and the chef had his day off, second rate , as the other days it was gourmet , the dessert on that Monday , we both did send it back. a day to remember for the wrong reasons

10,0 Excellent
Pros: This was one of the best stays I ever had. The staff is helpful and very friendly. The food is excellent and there’s so much to do in the area
Cons: Nothing
7,1 Good
Pros: Great breakfast and a nice location. Staff were nice. Massage was ok. Kind of pricey.
Cons: Really outdated rooms. Internet was incredibly poor. Quite a trek to anywhere else. Gym wasn’t the most inspiring place I’ve ever been in. No permanent secure bike storage
6,7 Good
Pros: The staff were very friendly and it was a clean, nice hotel.
Cons: I was disappointed to find out the pool area was closed. My husband and I prefer jacuzzis and pools over saunas. Due to renovations, there was a good amount of construction eye sores. It was also quite noisy, due to cars on main road directly in front of the hotel. Pictures made it look as though the hotel was directly on the lake, but there was a busy and noisy road between with the train directly behind the hotel.
7,9 Good
Pros: Comfortable, good menu on Saturday night. Good breakfast buffet.
Cons: Water in the warm pool could be one or two degrees above the current 35. Food on Sunday was average.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Everything was so well organized and professional!
Cons: Great wellness and delicious food
6,7 Good
Pros: 1. Food was very good, Morning buffet, as also Dinner, Lunch we had only once, there were nice Salad-Buffet 2. Aqua-Fit was nice 3. Massage was very good 4. Despite first impression of the wellness-room (sauna's/relax room) was bad, it was later actually still very relaxing and good 5. Nice drinks in the Bar, nice Piano-Play in the evening 6. this hotel is everything in wood, which makes it feel very homey there 7. fitnessroom was also fine, there were towels and water to drink provided
Cons: 1. we as young guest were in the minority, most are older, +50 2. Stuff, especially cleaning, doesn't talk that good German, but was not that big issue 3. There should be more magazines for men (Car's / Economy / Sport etc) in the Relax-Room, there were only Focus/Spiegel

Pros: Everything.there
Cons: Should supply a face towel for the shower soap
9,6 Excellent
Pros: A lovely place to stay in Schluchsee. It's a little off the main drag, but very walkable to anything in town.
Cons: Communication about the morning breakfast hour was a little unclear. It's from 8-10, but they would like you to be out of the breakfast room shortly after 10. So, maybe it would be better if they said breakfast is served from 8-9:30.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The host was very nice and helpful. Great location and amazing views.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The location was stunning, a short walk from the centre of Shluchsee. The property was very nicely decorated and had a traditional feel to it. The owners are quiet but friendly and very helpful.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast
Cons: Room are a bit noisy
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Located above the town, 5 to 10 min walk from centre, 15-20 min to the lake. Very pleasant small guest house, nicely furnished and comfortable, scrupulously clean. Excellent generous breakfast. Parking on site. Recommended.
Cons: A little more guidance on where to eat would have been helpful. We can recommend the Seehof and Burgstube.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: I really liked the place located in a beautiful and quiet area. The rooms are very clean, the owners pay a lot of attention to every little detail. The interior of the rooms matches black forest atmosphere and makes the guests feel well and comfortable. Breakfast is served in a typical black forest style, rolls, cheese, meat deli, eggs and super tasty homemade jam, all you need for a nice start into the day. The staff is friendly and helpful. Hotel is located in a 7-10 min walking distance to the lake Schluchsee and only 5-7 min to the town centre. This hotel is a very recommendable place for all who enjoy a peaceful traditional stay in the middle of scenic black forest.

Pros: The receptionist was helpful from start to finish, she sorted my 2nd night that I asked for on arrival, showed me the room and made sure I was happy, offered the garage for my bike and when I needed to check out early she informed me she would be in just before I was due to leave so I could pay and leave on time. Dodnt catch her name but hope the hotel reas this and send my regards. The room is nice size and amazing views.
Cons: Bit away from main town but made it peaceful
8,8 Excellent
Pros: We enjoyed our stay at Hirschen. Welcoming staff that were always helpful. The room was just probably fully renovated because it was modern and cozy. Nice breakfast and dinner as well with traditional meals. We took very good advantage of the ski pass provided. thank you for that. Also, the shower was perhaps one of the highlights, great flow of warm water.
Cons: Not to complain, we had a great time and the room was very clean and modern. Perhaps for improvement we would prefer to have a double bed rather than 2 single beds connected.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The food at the restaurant was exceptional as well as the staff
Cons: WiFi was a bit intermittent
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Very good restaurant Quiet in a wonderful region The staff was extremely friendly
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Modern room, perfect stay, nice staff and good food.
Cons: Everything was perfect
5,8 Okay
Pros: The room we finally received a room on the second floor that was clean and well appointed. The room gave on the backside and was quiet.
Cons: We were first assigned a room on the ground floor with a muff smell, as the room must not have been aired for several days. The winter tried to made a late comeback at the end of April with temperatures falling dramatically. It was unpleasantly cold in the room. The diner was of poor quality with a deer goulash that was overcooked with an extremely sweet sauce. Breakfast was OK, except that one single slice of bacon with the fried eggs is greedy. A penetrante smell of frying oil and kitchen smell is omnipresent. There is no complimentary bottle of water in the room. Often in German hotels there is a piece chocolate or a small pack of Haribo bears on the bed. There is no such attention at the Hirschen. We asked to check out at 11.00 AM, but rather harshly we were informed that the owner has to give the green light and that the accounts must be settled at 10.00 AM. We did not feel welcome at this place !!!

Pros: The location is stunning, The pool is gorgeous, and the tennis courts were fantastic
Cons: We had a double bed that was two single mattresses together, with two single duvets, apparently they don’t have double duvets. Would have liked a proper double bed.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: A great accomodation in a wonderful hotel. All expectations for a 4**** hotel have been exceeded. Already booked for the next business trip
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The view is great. Very nice garden and tennis court. Warm place for relaxation. Very friendly staff.
Cons: Nothing.
7,5 Good
Pros: good choice of food at breakfast, large indoor pool
Cons: having to eat a six-course menu if you book half-board. Alas it is either the six courses, or a very limited menu card. Poor lighting in bedroom, bathroom equipment mediocre
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Everything! Specially live music every evening in the bar. Singers are wonderful.

7,5 Good
Pros: Gastfreundlichkeit perfect at the reception as always.
Cons: The beds are unbelievably hard, and the sheets too small.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: A lovely view from the south side. The breakfast menu was good and has some varieties. The bag with towels and robes to be used in the wellness area was helpful. At the evenings nice ambience with live music.
Cons: The price is a bit high but compared to other hotels at the same area very convenient.

7,5 Good
Pros: Lovely location with numerous fantastic roads to ride. Fantastic breakfast buffet and impressive wine/beer garden.
Cons: On departure, after a two night stay, presented my bank card for payment and was informed that they couldn’t accept it as their internet was down and had been for several days. They also pointed to a notice in German informing me - not much use when you don’t speak the language!!! As it was our final stay in country we had used nearly all our Euros. Had to ride to the bank to get money. We should have been informed about this on our arrival. Otherwise a very nice stay.
6,3 Good
Pros: really comfortable bed, few minutes walk to the sea, really friendly staff, we got some chocolates for Easter
Cons: Most expensive we stayed in for our while trip. There are some around the area that are around 30 euros cheaper
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Hotel restaurant was excellent with delicious food and amazingly friendly staff specially with kids.
Cons: N/a
6,3 Good
Pros: Staff is very nice, and breakfast quite good.
Cons: There is a big discrepancy between what you can see on the pictures and reality. The place itself is very old and heavily under-invested when it comes to look& feel and interior design. Carpets on the floor feel as if they were not changed since early 80s. On the walls there are wall papers from 70s. Suming-up, it does not provide atmosphere an conditions to relax and enjoy the time spent there.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast buffet was wide variety. Good southern german breakfast. Clean hotel and friendly staff. Fast and uncomplicated check-in and check-out. Also very helpful to guests with questions about tourism or shopping etc.
Cons: In the room only small blankets. Also only one cushion.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: A beautiful traditional Schwarzwald hotel bit with modern comforts. Great restaurant and bar. Wonderful friendly staff and a fantastic breakfast. The location is great - near the station and lake and in the centre of the village.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Lively German guesthouse. Food great. Right in the middle of Schluchsee. Schluchsee card is a great bonus
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful staff. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant that was an amazingly a good surprise! Vey nice food and friendly people. Hotel location is great as it is straight at city center. I would definitely return whenever I'm in Schluchsee.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable room with good views.
Cons: Nothing in English but not really a problem.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great location in centre of very pretty village. Very warm welcome with good English spoken. Room huge with all facilities (except tea/coffee making). Lovely meals with great menu choices.
Cons: For some reason, location of hotel did not show up on Google maps ( but still not difficult to find). Why charge 1 euro for car parking?

8,0 Excellent
Pros: The Room was a great size! And the view overlooking the Lake was superb! Could do with a upgrade to the rooms and the Hallway upto the rooms is characterless with very little features that would show it off much better! Restaurant was very nice and great choice for Breakfast!
Cons: No tea coffee facilities in the rooms considering it’s a 4 star Hotel!
8,8 Excellent
Pros: location at the lake.staff very friendly. spacious room.
Cons: bathroom could have been better cleaned.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic views, especially at breakfast. Nice spacious room, decent shower and a safe place to park a motorbike :-) Great stop for a motorcycle trip to/from the Black Forest.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Beautify terrace, fantastic food.
7,9 Good
Pros: Lovely, comfortable immaculate bedroom with large en suite bathroom. Delicious Breakfast and dinner in the attached Greek restaurant which had fabulous view over the lake, great service from friendly waiters. Due to bereavement we had to check out to return to return home early. We really appreciated the fact that although we had a 2 night booking we were only billed for the one night we stayed.
Cons: We were in room 31 on the ground floor of annexe so our lake view was obliterated by the tall vehicles that were parked right up against our windows. No indoor pool as advertised, I found this particularly disappointing because it was an important reason for my hotel choice.
5,4 Okay
Pros: The close proximity of the hotel to Schluchsee and the room was clean and tidy
Cons: We have stayed at this hotel twice before and where disappointed to find that the property had changed hands and that the hotel and restaurant were now 2 separate businesses. When we arrived the hotelier could not speak or understand English making it difficult to book in, also there was no where to get refreshments. In the evening we decided to eat at the restaurant and this is when we found out that the hotel and restaurant where 2 different businesses. The restaurant on it had the menu in French or Germany and at first we could not find anyone to translate and could not get on WiFi to use translational TOOLS. After a lot of pain we managed to get someone partially able to explain what was a Greek menu.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Staff especially helpful and friendly.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We booked the room with balcony. The view of Schluchsee lake from the balcony was spectacular. Breakfast on the terrace overlooking the lake is the perfect way to start the day. The bed was very comfortable and room clean. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. The hotel is only 2 mins walk from Seebrugg station. I would recommend this hotel to any one wanting to stay in near Schluchsee
Cons: The only downside was no tea or coffee making facilities in the room. Otherwise all was perfect.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The location of the hotel is amazing. We had room Nr. 12 which gives an incredible view from all windows towards the lake, the big terrace offers breathtaking sunsets! The hotel is a beautiful building, offers loads little benches and spaces within the natural setting to relax and simply read a book. The access to the beach is a bit tricky (steep steps) but when you are down at the water, the access to easy. Great views from here too. In total, great value for money! I'd definately come again.
Cons: Due to the proximity of the lake, there were some moskitos..... but it wasnt a big deal!

6,3 Good
Pros: Nice, clean and comfortable room close to the town centre.
Cons: Due to payment troubles through the booking system, the hosts turned very suspicious and unwelcoming. They persisted we had to pay the full amount of our stay in cash before we were even allowed to see the room, have a drink or use the bathroom. Since we didn't have that much cash handy, we had to first go look for a bank to collect the money even though it was very hot, we had just travelled for a few hours and my friend was visibly pregnant and tired. It kind of ruined our stay there.

Cons: None
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely location with easy access to all of the town.
Cons: Restaurant menu limited. Eat elsewhere. We were underwhelmed by the quality. That said, breakfast was very good.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were very clean and the location was fantastic, only a 3 minute walk to the lake. With a car, it was very accessible to many of the sites in the area I wanted to see.
Cons: For Sunday check-in, they required a phone. Since I didn't have a data plan (I'm from out of the country) I had to find someone else to borrow the phone from. A minor inconvenience.
7,1 Good
Cons: No menu in French or English at the restaurant.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Good food. Convenient parking- but also good by train. Schwarzwaldkarte for stays 2 nights and longer are an awesome benefit.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Exceptional front office staff. Quiet location yet only 2 minutes walk to village centre lake and public transport.
Cons: Hotel generally a bit old. Needed a spruce up.
7,1 Good
Pros: Beautiful views of the lake! Lovely to be able to breakfast on the terrace.
Cons: We were given a small, very hot, attic room. The staff were a bit disorganized and not very helpful - unapologetic when they told us the free parking wasn’t actually available, got our Hochschwarzwald cards mixed up so we missed out when we arrived.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were helpful and friendly, breakfast was good, large and varied. Hotel was within distance of several forest and lake walks.

Pros: I liked every thing in the hotel specially the location and view
Cons: Nothing
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Spacious rooms, good breakfast with eggs made to order. Bar inside hotel is convenient but does mean there is an odeur of cigarette smoke in some arreas. Be advised that the budget rooms have low ceilings though at 1.85cm still just about doable without hitting your head. Other floors much more head space. Short distance to the ski slopes.
Cons: No ski bus stop in the area, need a car for Feldberg skiing.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Hotel and rooms were nicely decorated. Our room was spacious and included a little fridge and we were able to use the hotel washing machines free of charge. Breakfast was fantastic: coffee made fresh and brought to our table and eggs cooked right in front of us, along with the regular buffet essentials. Location was very good, in the quiet town centre, across from a pizzeria, diner and pub, and a short walk from the lake.
Cons: We struggled with the wifi from our room on the third floor but found it worked perfectly fine everywhere else.
7,5 Good
Pros: The breakfast was fine but not very much variation. Friendly staff.
Cons: The rooms were rather low and for a tall person like me this is inconvenient (room +- 2m high, bathroom +-1,9m). The bed was hard.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We were at the flat for 6 people . Marina the owner of the hotel was very nice . The flat was clean and there were many tools for coocking . The beds were comfortable. We enjoyed a lot .
Cons: That it was in the 3rd floor
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Simply the best hotel of our trip to Germany. Marina is a great host and always helpful and cheerful. Safe parking for the motorbikes and a great village to stay for a few days. Will definitely come back.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Centrally located. Friendly staff. Black forest discount card was included with the room for each person.
Cons: Wi-Fi was in and out. Couldn't blackout the room in evening because of a street lamp across the street rm 11.

Pros: very central and good breakfast
Cons: The light in the room was very very dim- I suggest you change the bulbs

Pros: Cozy rooms are clean and nicely decorated. Staff is very friendly and could speak several languages including Russian. Breakfast was good especially fresh warm bread. Our main destination was Feldberg ski resort and we had to drive there from the hotel, but the area is really beautiful so it wasn’t a problem.
7,5 Good
Pros: Nice location to enjoy the city and the surrounding area. Just in front of the square, near the train station and the lake.
Cons: the bed could be a bit more comfortable.
