We will be back!
My husband and I got married on Sanibel Island 7 years ago. We were in Florida with our kids, grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc and my husband and I thought, why not take a night and a day and go back for a visit to our favorite place. We found Waterside Inn online and the price and location was perfect! When we arrived, the staff at the front dest/office were WONDERFUL! The beach was right there-just down the steps from our room. We only got a hotel room but, next year we will hopefully get one of the idyllic looking cottages. Needless to say, we will be back.
The staff was amazing, so accommodating and there for you when needed. Clean, Cozy Beachy rooms. was paradise :)
Feeling it's age, but still worth it
Location. On the beach. Seconds from the sand and water. It was clean, except things are worn and a bit outdated.
Bit old and ever so slightly musty. Shows it's age in the cracked cabinets and creaky sliding doors.
With a private beach boasting perfect sunsets almost every night, Waterside Inn on the Beach gives travelers the true Sanibel Island experience without an exorbitant price. The grounds are covered in tropical palm trees that sway in the breeze off the water while guests can lay on a lounge chair amidst them.
With only 27 rooms at the property, this hotel offers guests a bit of privacy for their stays. There are choices of rooms in the main building called the Lodge. Guests can also choose Cottages that are gulf front, gulf view, or poolside efficiency. There’s a Honeymoon Cottage, and the Breakers West Condominiums. Cottages give guests more space and living spaces that are more like at home. There are kitchens that have all the cookware needed to make meals.
Waterside Inn on the Beach does not have any gastronomy options on the premises. However, with kitchens in many of the accommodation options, there’s less need for restaurants. The property does have barbecue grills available for guests to use. Beyond that there are some restaurants in the area. Il Cielo has seafood close by. Bleu Rendezvous Bistro also has seafood. There’s Joey’s Custard for a sweet treat, and Coffee Bar @Bailey’s just over a mile away.
Waterside Inn on the Beach is on their own private beach. That means guests have it to themselves. There’s an outdoor pool, on-site fishing, and guests can rent bikes on the property to go explore. Bikes can be ridden to check out Periwinkle Way, Gulfside City Park, Sanibel Historical Village and Museum, and more with ease.
Policies vary by room type and provider.
