Pros: The staff was very kind and helpful. Even though we booked the cheaper room which is 30 meters away from the main building, they gave us the room in the main building which was surely more convenient for us. Also, my card was declined several times while booking the property, but we called the hostel and they still let us keep the reservation, which was really nice of them. Free and safe parking was available just next to the hostel. Everything was clean all the time. Good breakfast. Comparing to the prices of other properties in San Pedro, this was excellent value for money!

Cons: Door didnt fit into frame properly - still locked though. No curtains on frosted window so was quite light in the room all night. No soundproofing, could hear all neighbours movements. Patchy wifi.

Cons: My room (single) was inbetween the kitchen and the common area, which means it was really loud in the evening and in the night. When everybody finally stopped eating and socialising and went to bed, there was a neighbour blasting music really loud until 5-6am (Not the hostal's fault though, but still I want to mention it). Early in the morning there was loud construction noise which woke me up, seems like they are still working on the Hostal. When the noise from the construction work stopped, there was the toddler of the family who runs the place playing and screaming in front of my door. So i didnt really get a quiet minute in that place. Sad, because the place has potential.

Pros: The property is beautiful, the rooms are styled nicely, the pool and gardens are well maintained, it is like an oasis in the desert. The staff a friendly and helpful. You can have coffee and tea 24/7 in the dining room, and the salad and sandwiches at the bar were nice. They also offered pool service. My mum and I were traveling from Australia and we loved it.

Cons: Location a small minus, but within reasonable walking distance to the town, so actually not a big deal. Room was extremely hot at night (no AC or ceiling fan). Wifi very bad, even in common area. We stayed at a different hotel for 3 nights in the city center which was miles better than this on all parameters and within same price range. Low value for money imo.

Pros: Raoul and Stephanie at reception were both excellent they helped us with excursions and when our flight returning to Santiago was delayed Raoul rang the airline and rearranged everything for us. Sebastian our tour guide was very informative and made our excursion extremely interesting.

Cons: The hotel and room felt slightly tired. Within the room there were multiple issues: 1. Bathroom door was damaged 2. Shower screen was damaged 3. Ceiling dirty with multiple squashed bugs (on arrival) 4. Loud fridge 5. Could hear other (optionally co-joined rooms) easily which kept us awake. This was not a reflection on the staff as the room was clean at all points.

Cons: No air conditioning in a room where temperatures in the afternoon well exceeded 85 degrees. To cool the room you had to sleep at night with the door OPEN to get some cross breeze. Pool nothing like the picture, shallow, narrow as there is an underwater ledge for presumably all sitting in a row. The bamboo umbrellas around the pool are at eye level height and one person, fortunately wearing glasses, had the bamboo hit right in the face. If you’re under 5 ft you should just be fine. Rattan outdoor chairs were rough and some lacked cushions. There was no hot water one morning at all so no showers all around. All this for close to US$400 a night is not acceptable. Based on this experience I’d probably avoid all NOi hotels if this is how they’re run.

Cons: The room was stuffy, hot at night and the portable fan was pitiful. The food in the restaurant could be better. Breakfast is good, but other meals only so so. Asked for a packed picnic lunch and got a slate slab with small pieces of cheese, ham, etc. god for a cocktail but impossible for picnics. In all San Pedro everything is run by tour operators providing day tours including meals. Individual travelers want to avoid the crowded times and places, do not seem to be welcome in San Pedro.

Cons: The staff accepted a group that was behaving very bad at the pool. Were extremely loud and swearing all the time. Many hotel guests had to leave the hotel and the pool because of the group. We mentioned it to the staff but their explanation was: "They are young people, we should let them be!" All other guests, we were extremely shocked with this answer. This showed us that they have absolutely no idea about custumer service and providing good quality service to the guests. Unbelievable such an answer in this kind of hotel.

Pros: This is quite rustic but average for the area, very good location. Dogs bark at night and a few parties but this is a quieter spot than most.
Cons: The rooms don’t have tv, the wifi is not consistent and there is no mini fridge which is helpful for water or snacks.
