Location was central although be ready for exercise if walking. Room on second floor was close to the street so it could be noisy, but that was part of being in the neighborhood. Tea time was a nice touch, a chance to meet other guests.
A bit noisy from outside but that is the city.
Great location in Nob Hill, close to the central city and transport links ie tram, bus, muni metro. Small, personal hotel with very helpful and friendly staff. Room was good with nice period features and it was good to have a second room as had booked the family room.
Sjtuated on a busy streetand given its period stays does not have double glazed windows therefore it is noisy at night, if your a light sleeper ear plugs would be a good idea. The second bed was only a pull out sofa bed, it wasnt made up on our arrival and wasn't very comfortable. Paid a lot of money for the accommodation and the room didnt quite meet the expectations for the money paid but part of thay is probably San Francisco is an expensive place fo stay in peak season. Would be nice to have a kettle in tbe room with a tea bag or two but appreciated the free coffee downstairs in the morning and free sherry and cookies in the afternoon.
Beautiful building and lovely and very helpful staff
The shower curtains made the otherwise beautiful bath/shower a bit hard to use. There was no coffee/tea making in the room. Charge for taking complimentary breakfast coffee to room. Difficult to open windows.
Very friendly and helpful reception desk.
Narrow room in serious need of modernization, no desk, uncomfortable bathtub, very noisy street below, no air conditioning, very slow elevator, tea offered between 4 and 6 pm (what do you do in Nob Hill at 4 pm?)
Wonderful cozy old school hotel! Very helpful concierge. The junior suite was big enough for a family of 4 and the Stile of interior design very British. We loved it.
To experience the ambience of Old San Francisco, you need only book a stay at the Nob Hill Inn. Built in 1907 as a single-family home, the resort offers just 21 rooms and suites, tastefully appointed with furnishings of the early 20th century Edwardian period. The resort's amenities include 24-hour front desk service, daily continental breakfast for a fee, fax and photocopy service, and a smoke-free environment. Afternoon teas and sherries are served in the parlor every day from 4-6 p.m.
