The lobby is a hip and cozy place to hang out. I love the nod to rock and roll and the cool couches and books that inspire relaxation.
A little sad to see the soaking tubs gone.
There was only one chair in the room and no plastic in two of the trash cans but the room was immaculately clean and the bed was a grand sleep
Good location if you want to stay away from downtown congestion.
The downstairs lobby and bar area had a great atmosphere. Good fitness facility.
I expected the room to have a larger balcony and corner views. The room was instead small with a small balcony and it was located between the fire stairs and a service elevator which created more noise. The toilet also made noises that were audible lying in bed.
Japanese influence and hip interior make for a charming and characteristic ambiance at Japantown's Hotel Kabuki, a Joie de Vivre. The stylish boutique hotel underwent a $30 million renovation in 2018 and now attracts a mix of leisure and business travelers with its trendy spaces and loft-feel.
Away from the crowds in the heart of Japantown, Hotel Kabuki is right next to Japan Center, a shopping area with a variety of inexpensive restaurants, a Kinokuniya Bookstore, and shops with Japanese antiques, bonsai trees, and more. The popular Fillmore District is a 10-minute walk from the hotel. The boutique hotel is positioned in a great location for accessing many of San Francisco’s major attractions such as the Golden Gate Bridge and Haight-Ashbury.
Accommodations are small but stylish and make efficient use of the space. Natural light pouring through floor-to-ceiling windows make the rooms appear larger and some feature private balconies for extended views. Rooms are well-equipped with all the modern amenities such as free Wi-Fi, 55-inch flat-screen TVs, coffeemakers, mini-fridges, electronic safes, and Bluetooth-enabled alarm clocks. Sleek, modern bathrooms have wet room-style rainfall showers and include hair dryers and bathrobes.
Hotel Kabuki, a Joie de Vivre offers an impressive set of amenities and features that are common for relaxation. The inviting lobby is design-savvy and features a bar with Japanese-inspired dishes and cocktails. Additionally, there is a Zen garden with koi pond and a fire pit, an impressive 24-hour fitness room, yoga studio offering free classes.
Situated conveniently beside the Japan Center, access to major attractions in San Francisco, and a pet-friendly policy makes this hip hotel an experience, not just a visit.
