Almost 600 years ago ‘’Historical Ekes Konvents 1435 Hotel’’ was opened as first hotel in Riga, which is currently one of the oldest hotels in all Northern Europe. If you want to enjoy Riga's history and you’re looking for historical hotel, you will receive the warmest welcome at the "Historical Ekes Konvents 1435 Hotel" by enjoying antique value of this place. This hotel was not only recognized by guests from different countries but also by many famous magazines representing best historical hotels in the world. For example ‘’Historical Ekes Konvents 1435 Hotel’’ has been included in the British newspaper’s ‘The Guardian’’ list of world’s best top 20 boutique hotels. "Historical Ekes Konvents 1435 Hotel" is the only hotel in the Baltic States that has made it on the list.
The homely and romantic "Historical Ekes Konvents 1435 Hotel" with its eleven elegantly designed rooms is named after a former Bürgermeister of Rîga, Nikolaus Eke. This is the place where Nikolaus Eke installed a boarding house at the end of the 16th century for widows of the city's craftsmen who saw out their retirement here for more than 300 years. This modern three-storey building is located in the heart of Old Town while windows overlooking the two magnificent churches - St. Peter's and St. John's churches or the Konvent yard. Few minutes away from hotel there is full of museums, galleries, restaurants, and town hall square.
The hotel provides an excellent opportunity for a good Italian wine and music. Near hotel there is located Al Bano Carrisi restaurant, which is the only one in Eastern Europe. There you can enjoy wine, made by Al Bano Carissi and listen to enchanting Italian music.
Hotel offers small, standart and superior double rooms where each is individually decorated, with different in shape and size because of the hotel’s 15th century origins. Rooms are equipped with a double bed (140x200cm) and many amenities. The interior is informed by the late 18th and early 19th centuries, because this was the last time that any significant reconstruction of the building took place. The furniture is modelled on examples of historical furniture and the rooms are adorned by ancient maps, original drawings, engravings and hand woven blankets. "Historical Ekes Konvents 1435 Hotel" retains its impressive vaults, ancient facade and the authentic roughness of its walls.
