We came to Rethymno for a friends wedding and found this delightful hotel when searching for places to stay. While it had some great reviews online it far exceeded our expectations from the moment we checked in. Maria took time to talk us through the must see sights, good restraunts and parking for our hire car, all while enjoying a welcome sweet cheese pastry (Kalitsounia - which then became one of my morning staples at breakfast!). We were then shown to our room which was massive and beautifully finished. I believe all the rooms are different but ours (Eridanus) even had its old well on display! The room had a small kitchen with two different coffee machines so you could choose if you wanted to make fresh coffee (provided) or a capsule/pod coffee. Breakfast was served up to 10.30 allowing us to be lazy in the morning and provided lots of choice including some great fresh orange juice and eggs cooked to your preference. The location is good for exploring the old town and is down a quiet street. We parked in a couple of places because of various flea markets, but the nearest one was a €5 euros for 24 hours (but you can come and go in that time with the same ticket). We also parked a few times in the free car park by the fort but spaces while we were there were a bit more limited. The evening before we left Anna (the owner) and Maria popped round to say fairwell and gave us a jar of local herbs to take home. All in all we would very much recommend this hotel to anyone and are already looking for reasons to visit again!
That we had to go home!
Everything, from the moment we got there the staff were wonderful, gave us a map and suggesting on where to go and what to see, even got some water and a cretan cheesecake, the room was amazing and I mean that it was beyond anything we expected, even got the chance to meet the owner who was a wonderful lady who even organized us a taxi to the port so we didnt have to walk 15 mins away at 6 30 in the morning
This shouldnt be an option, you cant fault perfection
Close to city centre, clean rooms, fine breakfast. The staff was friendly and helpful. Clean rooms. Perfect place to stay when you are in Rethymno. 10/10.
All perfect! Thanks for the wonderful hospitality
Everything was great!
Beautiful room, fresh Greek style breakfast, incredibly friendly staff.
Not hotels fault, but if you are bothered by noise, nearby church bells ring very loudly and clamorously every half hour from 6.55am until 10pm.
