The breakfast was very good. The front day staff were excellent.
The was some noise outside the room early in the morning.
We really cannot fault this hotel. The staff are so helpful, recommending places to visit and eat We arrived late but Marcella sorted a meal from the restaurant, nothing was too much trouble for them. The hotel was clean and tidy with plenty of places to sit and relax. It's not in the city centre but only about 5-10 minutes walk from all the main attractions. Prague is such a beautiful city to just wander around so nowhere seemed far away. Would definitely recommend this hotel 100%.
Nothing, it was all just perfect.
Staff at the front desk were excellent
Staff were very helpful. Room was huge, quiet, and comfortable.
Although we came from a 5-star hotel in Vienna, I was not disappointed or let-down by Julian. The experience was homey and cozy, clean and efficient. From our first steps in the door, the staff was wonderful. First, there was Ivana, who spoke such excellent German I had no problem with our conversation. She recommended specific tours, and three specific restaurants: we ate at two of them and both were excellent. The tours were likewise great. Then Marcella, in her excellent English, was so maternal and thoughtful about my situation: I had injured my knee on the stupendous Grand Tour (more than 3 miles of walking, all-in-all, on bumpy, cobblestone streets) and wondered if I would be able to complete the day trip tour to Karlovy Vary that day. She counseled that I should perhaps stay off the leg and change our Karlovy Vary tour from Thursday to Friday since thousands would be arriving on Friday for the state funeral of their beloved pop singer, Karel Gott. I stayed in all day (except for a shampoo and blowout down the block and a meal in the restaurant) while my traveling companion explored further on his own. By the next day, I was 100% for our trip to Karlovy Vary and the magnificent Moser Glass Factory. Also, the location of Hotel Julian is ideal: a mere 10 minutes' walk to Charles Bridge, south of all the commotion, and a street over from the streetcar should you wish to use it. Around the corner: a couple of restaurants, a gelato and torte place, a small grocery store. While I love the Castle district, this is a more central location.
I would have liked a recycling bin in the room to dispose of papers, etc., as we organized our things and prepared to leave. Of course, I am not educated on the status of recycling in the Czech Republic, but we were able to recycle in our Vienna hotel room and I appreciated that. Also, since I was hotel-bound that one day, I may have utilized the spa - not something I usually do - but it was inoperable, for some reason. They offered for me to go elsewhere, though. One more thing: the waiters in the hotel restaurant are not allowed to be tipped. I would have been happy to tip them!
A stay at Hotel Julian places you in the heart of Prague, within a 15-minute walk of Dancing House and Prague National Theatre. Featured amenities include limo/town car service, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and a 24-hour front desk. Event facilities at this hotel consist of a conference center and a meeting room. For a surcharge, guests may use a roundtrip airport shuttle (available 24 hours) and a train station pick-up service.
