Very few people at the hotel and I am very surprised I was not put in the newer building. Restaurant on the 5th floor was ok but nothing special. I took most of my meals across the street at the W Hotel. A very nice French restaurant, “The Paul.” I went to the Hilton down the street for afternoon or evening cocktails. A very good vibe at the fairly new Hilton.

Lilli the concierge called me the day before to accommodate my request of decorating the room to surprise me husband..her efforts superseded my expectations. She had champagne, rose petals, chocolates, chocolate covered strawberries and more. It was beautiful. Then Oliver the bellman was very accommodating as well. He helped us the entire trip with directions and even some translating. We really enjoyed ourselves.

The front desk advised they had a 24 hour taxi service however it took 40 minutes for a taxi to never arrive and we walked to a main road to get one. Food at the pool bar and the room service was shockingly bad, considering the brand name Waldorf Astoria. The shower never got hot and the pool was freezing cold. Overpriced mini bar also. For the money that we paid I am deeply saddened and would Not recommend to friends or family.

Cons: The hotel was constantly losing power because of some work being done on the street. Lights going on an off during meals, elevators completely going out, wifi barely working. That the hotel didn't have a back up generator for moments like this was baffling. Also, the plumbing in the room was horrendous. Toilet barely flush, if ever. The stopper to the sink was broken and sitting on the counter, I heard flushing water all night long. I ordered room service and nearly every item was wrong. I tried to get a credit back when I was checking out...but of course their system was down and I couldn't continue to wait. Hours later I'm still waiting for the email they promised confirming the credit to my card.

Pros: The hotel is very clean and luxurious. It's definitely a place to stop at while in Panama City, I swear you wont regret it! To be honest, the price is totally worth it as the view is more than beautiful, the amenities and the personnel is absolutely awesome. Everybody is so kind and the pool is...unforgetable. Pro tip for Panama if you drive there: don't forget your passeport or you could have issues with the police.

Pros: Painful experience. First room 2915, toilet did not flush, light bulb missing from lamp, mold stains on wall under the counter, phone kept beeping. Requested a room change, took 30 minutes to get a new room. Second room, smelled moldy, no snack bar but all facilities were working. Next day, housekeeper cleaned the room but skipped the bathroom. The way the shower is set up the floor gets soaked after each use. The housekeeper didn’t even mop up. Called front desk, was advised someone would come up to clean. Never happened. Next day, left hotel at 7:30am, came back at 4pm. Entire room was not clean, beds unmade, waste basket full, bathroom still dirty from the day before. Called the front desk, advised housekeeping is making rounds and would get to our room. We had an event to attend that evening and needed to relax and get clean towels to bathe. Housekeeper did not show up until 6pm. I was so annoyed at this point, I cancelled my plans for that night. Room 2510 also has a loud sound coming from the AC unit, the sound is so loud and unexpected it startles you from sleep. I expressed my disappointment to staff Lena at checkout and got a very nonchalant “sorry.” Housekeeping staff were sweet, bell service and other employees were very friendly but front desk staff are cold and incompetent. This facility claims to be newly renovated but the rooms, towels, floor mats, plumbing and AC systems are outdated and needs to be replaced. Management for housekeeping needs to be replaced. No guest should have to call to request their rooms be cleaned and staff should do what they promise. This facility is still being run like a Trump hotel, it is NOT up to Marriott standards.

What we also disliked is the fact that the same menu for lunch is being served for dinner. The pool was extremely small. The doorman refuse to open the door for us aparently because we were an interacial couple but he was nice to white people and spanish. He would greet people and not us. The waitress were slow, they would disappear for long periods of time. We got our own water to our table 3 times. This place is short staff and boring i thought we were in a geriatric home. There is no form of entertainment absolutely NONE!! The staff does not greet people or at least put on a smile. This place is sad and depressing we could not wait to leave!!! not to mention we got a surprise bill for the mini bar upon check out which no one told use we were being charged for. Can you imagine being charged 4.50US for a small bottel of water? The entire bill was 65US for ( 1 sample size whisky, 4 extremely small water, 1 small snickers chocolate and 6 can coca cola ) this place is a waste of money trust me!

Cons: The music in the pool and the bar was WAY too loud! We couldnt get a good night rest because we stayedat the cavannas beside the pool and the music from the pool bar was so loud it resounded inside our room. We kindly asked them to lower or turn of the music since there was no one at the bar, but they informed.us that they would turn it off only at 11pm. At 11pm they still did not turn it off till like 11:30pm. If you are looking for a relaxing place to rest on the weekend this is not the place to go. As mentioned before they are slowly remodelling the hotel but they assigned us a cavanna that was not remodelled yet and it was below the standard of what a room at a 5 star hotel should be.

Cons: If you are interested in the Menu, the service could be a little slow. Many people prefer the buffet so there is not a fast service if you prefer A la Carte.

Cons: The worst feature was the air conditioning in the room. It was too cold all the time and there was no possibility to regulate it or stop it. It made my stay very uncomfortable. The room was rundown, the curtains not so clean, the flush in the toilet broke down (although they fixed it), The coffee facilities offered in the room were flawed: Only coffee, no sugar, no milk, no spoon. There was no fridge in the room (they had taken it out). The windows were not so clean and the coating was peeling. Breakfast was average. The variety in fresh fruit was limited, the cheese on offer was low quality. No boiled eggs on offer, just scrambled eggs. They only offered me one water bottle (small one) on the first day, when I asked (there was none in the room). On the second day I asked for one at the restaurant and they charged me 3.30 USD!. Of course I never asked again. I bought water at the shops at a fraction of this price. The lobby was always noisy-too many people and a convention taking place with loud music.

Cons: This is my fifth stay at this hotel. Two points regarding this visit. 1) the hot water stopped working and we were not told. The staff seemed uninterested and unapologetic about the cold showers. 2) the construction in front of the hotel had, at times, the lobby entrance or the entire street blocked off to traffic. I understand it’s city work but, again, we were not told this prior to the stay. I’ll sum it up as a communication problem with the staff. It would be beneficial for the guests to be told about inconveniences to their stay instead of having to find out and receiving a less than interested acknowledgement from the staff. I will, unfortunately, be considering another hotel for my next stay.

Cons: The hotel is located on a very congested street. If someone is coming to pick you up he or she has no place to park and wait for you. In general the streets in Panama City have become very congested in recent years, but this street is one of the worst I've seen.

Cons: I have stayed at this hotel close to 10 times now. The first visit was the best but since then, I have not been as impressed. Every single time I have checked in, I have been given a different room than I reserved online. My rooms have had varying degrees of dirty. From hairs on my bed and in the bathroom, to wrappers and dirt on the floors. The rooms and hallways just are not cleaned very well at all. On my last stay, the shampoos had been used and not replaced, and I was only given one large towel which had 3 big holes in it.
The food at the morning breakfast is not very good either; cold bland eggs, cold meat that does not look very appetizing, and the bread and pastry selections are pretty dry and boring.

Cons: TV remote broken. Toilet roll holder was broken. Towels had holes in them. Curtain holder broken.Passage carpet dirty. Only one plug point worked in the room of four points. Walls had marks on them. No coffee or tea facilities. Payment was deducted before end of stay.
