Don't be fooled by the photos on their website. They're old, deceptive, and not reflective of what the property actually looks like today. Cleanliness & Maintenance: This property is poorly managed and maintained. The carpet was disgusting and had stains the size of a dinner plate. There were no blankets in the room. Pros (+) Tranquil location, close the beach and even had some deer nearby. It resembles staying at a cabin in the middle of a forest. Quite remarkable.
Cons (-) Room was extremely dated, thin walls and can hear people talking in the room next to ours. Bathroom needed a little TLC. Shower doors were rusted and old. Since we took my 3 and 5 year old a TV would have been great entertainment for them.

Pros (+) It was convenient to locations I was visiting. Beautiful lobby.
Cons (-) Breakfast was over at 9 so lazing about in the morning is not supported. Facilities are very old which means very nice great rooms, lobby, etc., but guest rooms had issues like pocket door was broken in our bathroom and fairly thin walls meaning the kids in the room above woke us up early.

Pros (+) ...in such a great way. Designed by Julia Morgan, the property has lovely character with wood interiors. Our room was in a building with ~8 rooms, and there was a common room that had games and puzzles which is nice because the rooms are small and there were four of us. When we got back from dinner out, there were logs and newspaper starters set up in the fireplace with matches on the mantle, maki...
Cons (-) There didn't seem to be a phone in the rooms, so getting more pillows seemed hard to figure out, so I just stuffed towels into pillowcases. Just good to know that going in.

Pros (+) The grounds and property were breathtaking
Cons (-) The room was small and dingy. We didn't expect much and it met our low expectations. We got breakfast with our travelzoo deal and I felt like I was back in my high school cafeteria. We don't expect luxury, but they could really up their game in terms of managing the property.
