Everything about the hotel was fantastic. We only booked for 1 night originally, but were so impressed that we extended our visit. It is one of the best hotels we have stayed in.
Esmeralda is on a side street and easy to find, parking is restricted but we managed to park on the road outside of the hotel. Reception and booking in was easy. The room was to the stand expected at the price. The shower was a multi-directional contraption with all shower heads pointing directly into your face and outside the shower guaranteeing the bathroom floor would be soaked before the water reached temperature. The television was set to satellite radio only. It is situated in a great central position close to bars and restaurants. Sunday morning in the Plaza España (Salon) you can hear the cacophony of church bells attempting to attract larger congregations than they had the previous week. Look for the microbrewery in the Plaza, well worth the search.
Only positive was the cheap price. However you do get what you paid for in the lack of quality.
The staff would not allow myself and my husband to stay in a double bed as the room "was for one person only". We were put in a twin room even though we paid for a double room. The facilities were outdated and some of the furniture was even broken. The price was ok but considering the condition of the room and the service from the staff I wish I stayed somewhere else and paid a bit more.
Good place with free parking. Clean room and bathroom
Furniture was very old and used. The hotel is not maintained well. At the common places there was no air condition and it was extreme hot. Hotel rooms need renovation. The breakfast was 1 slice bread, butter and a little jam, it is worth nothing...
The welcome and help from the woman on reception was excellent. The position in relation to the town and the historic area was very good. There was a garage.
Finding the hotel was very difficult. Our room faced the street and was noisy. The bathroom smelled of drains but was itself very clean. The men involved in the hotel were not exactly un-friendly but never had a smile.
