Pete was great with good local info and the breakfast bar was better than 95% of the big hotels.
Shower was small and on the schedule for renovation this fall.
This inn is to pin on the map whenever heading to eastern Cape Cod. It offers everything you would wish for: comfort, nice pool, short walk to the beach, easy to get to, authentic style, friendly staff, great breakfast.
Breakfast starts at 8:00 which can be a little late when planning daylong activities or simply when being a early riser. This is a minor detail in comparison to the great experience we had.
Breakfast was wonderful. Owner helped us with our luggage. Thank you. Being close to the beach.
I think the site said partial beach view but window was blocked with a bush. This probably needs to be changed or maybe I just read it wrong. This did not bother us.
The inn is beautiful! So much thought has gone into every inch of the space. They’ve created spaces inside and out that invite gathering. It was a perfect get away.
Not a thing.
So many wonderful things about Ship's Knees Inn. Peter was so kind and helpful on our arrival, the breakfasts are delicious yet healthy, and they go above and beyond to provide information about anything and everything Cape Cod you could think of. You can tell how much love they have put into this place and into making it a real treasure for their guests. The building is full of character and beautifully decorated with all kinds of interesting and quirky local paintings and artefacts, and we loved the natural gas fire pit outside which was lovely to sit by in the evening. The facilities were great too - cold and hot filtered water on tap, and coffee and teabags and biscuits all day.
The one and only thing I wished had been different was for breakfast to begin earlier - it is served from 8am to 9.30am and it would have been great to have this from 7/7.30am so that we could start our walks earlier. This is a family run business though, so I entirely understand that it wouldn't be fair to ask for staff to get up so early. Talking of early starts, don't miss sunrise at Nauset Beach just down the road - gorgeous!
