The owner is really nice and very helpful! He will tell you anything you need to know about things to see in Nikko!
The room was very nice and clean. In fact, there was a renovation of the adjacent room so I could feel a bit of thinner in my room. The staff was very kind and helpful. I liked their the dinner with miso soup.
The toilet was not working properly, but this is a minor thing.
This will rank as one of the favourite places that we stayed at in Japan. It’s in a beautiful location. The staff are so friendly and helpful, and due to the communal lounge/dining area, we were able to chat to, and share meals with, people from many different countries. It’s situated within Nikko National Park, and is within walking distance of the shrines and temples. The Kegon Falls and Lake Chuzenji are a short bus ride away, and are a must see. We ate breakfast and dinner at the Lodge, and although the choice isn’t vast, the food was delicious, and very reasonably priced. We would stay here again if ever we were to return to Japan.
The bed was just a little too hard for me,but I slept.
The personel was nice, they picked us up from the station and drove us back there, the communication with them was easy. They picked up the phone calls and explained how to reach the meeting point. They helped us with carrying our luggage. The location is quite far away but it is in the forest so if someone likes nature she/he could appreciate..
The location is at least 15-20min away from the center on foot with no bus (but the nice personel would pick you up from the station with a car and drive you back with your luggage). The hotel is quite old with rather old equipment (they include enough in the room though, fridge, TV.. ) the bed sheet was not what we are used to (no clean, freshly washed and iron bedsheets but some old ones, which were not reassuring). The toilets were old but they didn't stink and everything worked. The walls of the room were a bit thin and we could hear the neighbours. The AC worked a bit weird. Overall, it felt old and not reassuring as a hotel.
