If you go to the Lex you have to realize you are going to a small boutique hotel, this is not a major luxury hotel. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, the facility was very clean and in great shape. It is a short Uber ride from most everything you could want to see in NYC.

This is a very nice small hotel with clean modern rooms, but they are small. That may be typical of NYC hotels, I’m not sure. The staff is particularly nice and helpful. The location is very convenient, and the street and therefore the rooms are quieter than some NY streets. I think the price is very reasonable. I would definitely stay here again.

Pros (+) Friendly and helpful staff. Plenty of places to eat within walking distance. Pleasant cozy room. There's even a special button at either side of the bed which turns on/off all of the lights including the bathroom. There was a good quality selection for the included breakfast offered in the lobby area.
Cons (-) It's equidistant from two local subway stops. However there are no express stops nearby. There is a nominal balcony with a beach chair and a view of the water tower.
