prime location; staff members are very helpful; junior suite has good bathroom
The deco is quite dark.
A sofa or couple of relaxing chairs would be nice to have
Lack of a sofa or relaxing chairs
Staff were really friendly. Particularly those on the door. Location was great.
The room wasn't clean when we first got there. And we were missed by housekeeping on the first day. The amount of dust under the bed suggests that a thorough clean had not been done in some time. The gym did not have refreshments. The fridge wasn't even switched on. The bed was overly soft and my partner and I kept rolling into each other. Breakfast was terrible. And 29 CAD each! There are some amazing breakfast places for the same money nearby.
Location, comfort, luxe decor, lovely staff. Very beautiful hotel, spacious rooms and bathrooms. Absolutely lovely
The peacefulness of the hotel..
Maybe I'm spoiled but really did not like the sheets on the bed..and the too thin duvet. Poor quality. And the low hanging light fixture over the table... And being charged 95 dollars for my dog..she did not make a mess or leave behind a single hair..and nothing was provided for her...no bowl..nothing. oh..and the Doorman never opens the door..which is really heavy. He just stands about chatting to the guy at the front desk. I actually tripped trying to get my suitcase out whilst holding the door.
Nestled in an original Beaux-Arts building in the historic quarter of Old Montreal, the St Paul opened in 2001 as Canada’s first ever boutique hotel. The 119-room property, designed by Montreal-based design firm Borrallo Interiors offers a timeless blend of past and present, and an innovative design that maintains the integrity of the building’s original architecture. Curated so that every surface is to be touched and explored, each curtain, sofa and table has been lovingly custom-designed to create a daring dialogue reminiscent of classic european opulence and glamour. Bold juxtapositions of colour and texture heighten the senses and transport guests on a visual journey throughout their stay. Masculine elements like straight cuts and strong lines collide with feminine expressions found in the fashion-inspired fabrics to create a soothing paradox.
