I just needed a basic place to crash and Lone Oak worked out great. Nice place for the price. Convenient for where I was going. Note: the airport flight path is over this place. Not many planes but when there is one, you’ll hear it. Also, A/C wall unit is really loud. If you’re sensitive to noise, both of these things will ruin your stay.

Pros (+) I always try to stay here when I’m in town for scuba diving. The ribs tanks and optional hot tubs rooms are a great way to unwind at the end of the day. Nearby grocery and dining is a big plus as well.

Pros (+) Lighting systwm at night. Feeel safe because of bright light all night long.

Pros (+) Room was clean and decorated very nicely.
Cons (-) No AC in the rooms and the ceiling fan would only go up to the lowest setting. The in room fridge was very noisy but otherwise no complaints about the room.

Pros (+) Service was great. Bed made every day, coffee generously replenished each day. Courteous front office staff tutorial on local haunts and some handy discount cards! Will always stay at the Lone Oak when in Monterey.
Cons (-) A little far to walk to any major sites, but parking is easy in Monterey so it was not a hassle at all.
