Food and staff
The beds are not comfortable and the socket to recharge phone was away from bed, also I suggested to manager to put ATM machine like many hotels do so that the guests can have access to cash since hotel is far away from any banks
Close to beach.
Very dark decor. No kettle or bottle opener. Basic equipment.
Upgraded sea view at no extra charge, view was great!!! Flush mechanism on Toilet was not working initially, maintenance crew fixed right away. Food and spa were amazing. Staff was attentive, courteous and happy.
Front door had no door knob. Bed was a little stiff. Water pressure in shower would fluctuate.
The food was delicious, the staff very helpful and friendly. My room was upgraded at no extra cost during my stay. This hotel felt like paradise!
Standard double room was a bit small but I was upgraded to a sea view room half way through my stay. This room was absolutely perfect with amazing views of the Indian Ocean.
The location, food, the beach and the staff
Wonderful place for holidays.
With the shimmering sands and waters of the Indian Ocean stretching before it, admist verdant, bougainvillea-filled gardens, and shaded by gently swaying palm trees, the Serena Beach Resort & Spa at Shanzu Beach represents the ultimate escape. The Legendary 13th Century Swahili town of Lamu inspires and styles it.Fringed by white beaches, and shaded by coconut palms, the silver ribbon of the Swahili coastline offers the ultimate tropical paradise. Bright white against the blue sky, set in extensive tropical gardens, the architecture of the Serena Beach Hotel and Spa replicates the winding lanes and colourful market places of a traditional 13th century Swahili town. At the heart of our Mombasa beach resort lies the coral-built Fortress of Tranquility' of the exquisite Maisha' Mind, Body and Spirit Spa.
