Pros:Nice property. Suites well supplied. Clean. Great breakfast and happy hour.
Cons:Last year I was recommended this property so I moved over with myself and four other associates of mine. I'm the vice president of marketing and travel is part of my budget so my recommendation is assurance to this hotel would be getting an extended stay with six of us. This year was my second year coming there for business. Unfortunately my travel secretary booked my stay one day short. So I was leaving after 10 days instead of 11. When I ask them to extend my stay for one day and honor my rate they refused. They told me to go back through Expedia to get the rate. I felt this was a foolish step of customer service when in all reality they could have plucked a number out of the air or add on a dollar or $5 and not made me jump through this hoop. Unfortunately because it was one of the few busy times of the year since the state fair was in town, Expedia wasn't booking properties so I went back downstairs again to deal with the general manager. When I explained the situation to the general manager she told me that although they valued my business, that it was supply and demand and because of that they were going to force me to pay $40 more for a night because of my travel secretaries mistake. Now I want to state that I wasn't paying a cheaper rate. I was already paying in the mid-nineties for a room so asking me to pay an additional $40 to me because the state fair happened to be in town was ridiculous. I gently reminded her that I represented six people who were staying there together as a Consortium and that if they were going to inflate my rate for one night to make $40 that as she stated, they indeed did not care or appreciate my business and that to inflate me for $40 they were willing to lose almost $6,000 worth of yearly business. That statement seemed lost on this general manager and rather than be inconvenienced for one night by having to pack up and move my belongings to one of the many hotels that have sprung up in this area to meet the oil demand that is no longer there, I decided to pay the fee letting them know that none of us would be staying there again going forward. Her response was she didn't care. I would think that the owners of this property would be horrified by her lack of customer service. All they had to do was extend my stay an additional night. I wasn't asking for a discount. I was just asking not to be ripped off. I had just spent almost $1,000 each staying in their hotel and I was rewarded byou an inflated rate that's somebody walking through the door without any previous history with them would have paid. Needless to say regardless of the cleanliness of the property, I do not reward poor customer service and I will be taking our $6,000 a year that we have spent the last eight years to one of the many other hotels that I'm sure will appreciate our business.
