Summary of reviews

Guests say
Guests consistently praise the hotel's excellent location and its charming, historic atmosphere, which transports visitors to another era. Many appreciate the unique character and antique decor, and some highlight friendly and helpful staff. However, numerous reviews mention that the property is rundown and in need of renovation, with issues in cleanliness, uncomfortable beds, and occasional unfriendly service. Some guests were disappointed by the lack of amenities, such as breakfast or an open restaurant, and noted maintenance problems throughout the hotel. Despite these drawbacks, the hotel's setting and ambiance remain its strongest assets.

Pros (+) Excellent Location on Main Street and close to Ocean. No TV, but great period decor throughout. Great food and service. Plenty to do for couple of days without driving anywhere. Definitely worth a visit!!
Cons (-) The mattress (room 7) was terrible...maybe as old as the hotel itself. This was such a negative; almost ruined the trip for us. Told front desk person, but she never made a note of my comment or apologized.
