Bed bugs were a pain
The location. The price was reasonable given that it provided shelter and something to lay down on. If you wanted anything more than mere shelter then I would definitely advise staying somewhere else.
Filthy throughout. No hot water in the shower. Discarded food in one of the showers. Looked like the whole place hadn't been cleaned for weeks. Toilets were dirty. No curtains in the rooms - woken up at sun rise. No towels. Rock hard bed. You could tell that fellow guests didn't feel safe. Booked a bed in a 4-bed room, and was given a bed in an 8-bed room. No ventilation, was like a sauna.
Stayed here a few times, great location and staff always friendly and welcoming The sleep is always good, id ideally like each bed to have its own plug socket and storage under the beds. Sometimes doesn’t feel very safe Free Breakfast in the morning Is always an added bonus
It’s cheap, and you get exactly what you pay for
Most things. I have stayed at plenty of hostels in Europe, which cost the same as Hatters. But they were way cleaner and well kept.
The hostel is at a really good location with bus and trainstations in five minutes walk at the edge of the city centre. Staff is nice nd helpful and they have a bar on site.
Ventillation could be better, it gets smelly and stuffy inside with 10 people in the room and there's no working elevator which is a pity if you have a lot of luggage and stay on the fifth floor.
With a stay at Hatters Hostel Manchester, you'll be centrally located in Manchester, just a 4-minute walk from Affleck's Palace and 5 minutes by foot from Piccadilly Gardens. Featured amenities include a computer station, a 24-hour front desk, and multilingual staff. Planning an event in Manchester?
