Pros: The impeccable service, polite & helpful staff, most specially the Front desk. The high quality of food at the breakfast buffet (Spectrum) . Location, location, location, it's just 3 minutes walk from Landmark mall and Greenbelt. The lovely service at Willow Spa and fitness center, The nice pool. Yummy macarons at Cafe macaron. Love everything about Fairmont Makati. My new favorite hotel in Makati.

Pros: We stayed 3 different times within 3 weeks in this hotel (we went out of town twice between stays). First of all, the service is impecabble. The staff is very warm and welcoming. The location next to 2 huge malls means the availability of many restaurants and retail shops and services. Being a fairly new hotel, the interiors are very nice and clean, yet it feels homey. I totally felt comfortable here and would go back and highly recommend this hotel to others.

Cons: Did not like the outrageous cost of Hotel car to and from the Airport. I realize that pressure to make profit however,this is daylight robbery. The other issue is service charge which I also find outrageous it's a hidden way to put room cost up. While the hotel is really nice , staff are good and I'm fortunate to have a reasonably good expense budget i would not use the hotel again for these reasons! . The ordinary room cost for one night including the airport pick up and three room snacks was almost php20,000 which is 300plus British pounds . Maybe it's me but from advertised 110 BP and of course the usual taxes with the few extras I had I found it felt not really fair value for money.. Guess its life today...

Cons: Had a problem with a staff member who answered my call regarding the need to show up with my credit card which I used to book for my friends. They were checking in a day early. He told them an hour before I called that it was ok for me to just show the card when I check in on the second day. When I called, he told me I had to show up with the card on the day my friends check in. He told me he had spoken to my friends earlier but still gave me different instructions which led to a wasted trip. When I arrived on the first day, the lady at the counter said that it was noted in their systems that I only needed to show the card on the second day. It only takes one person to potentially destroy a vacation. Good thing everyone else at the Fairmont was professional and courteous.

Have been coming to PI for 10 years 20 plus trips. 1st stays were at New World, last 6 years have been at the Dusit...price/value was better in comparison than both of those hotels...we were in the old wing, rooms were spacious, we did check out the newly remodeled wing and it is newer for sure...the location next to Glorietta was great and only a 12 minute walk thru the mall to get to the Greenbelt Mall and theaters. We will be staying at the Ascott from now on. PS loved the pool area and the Jacuzzi

Cons: The hotel car service to/from the airport is in the range of 1,500 pesos. That is very high: a metered taxi would be 200 or 300 pesos without traffic: I wish that was cheaper. Also, the hotel won't take credit cards other than your own when giving a deposit (and I only had my spouse's card), so I had to settle laundry and room service myself in cash.

Cons: There were quite a few issues with our bathroom. We could not take a full shower when we checked in the first night because the shower drain wasnt draining. We felt it was an issue that can wait till the morning to bother the staff with. When then came in to fix it, it took a while because the maintenance staff couldn't fix it and we had to wait till 3:30pm. So we were not able to use our bathroom until the evening again. Running back and forth to the lobby restroom was an inconvenience. The following day the towel rack fell on my husband when he was getting his towel and then the shower lever was coming off. When all our bathroom issues were resolved ...the dilemma of noise was next up. We had thought that the banquet staff were moving around tables and chairs at midnight ..but it wasnt a banquet or meeting room above us or next to us..all guest rooms. We notified the front desk about the loud banging noises but I think it only made the noise worse. Breakfast was on our reservation plans...it was great with an array of choices but having a roach crawl on the wall next to me was awful and then on another morning a roach crawled up on my leg! BUT the staff tried to help alleviate all the problems we had the best they can AND that we can say stood out more than ANYTHING bad that happened.

Cons: My family smelled cigarette smoke in the main bedroom. Staff refreshed the room with scents and had a air cleaner going. But the cigarette smell was coming from the vents. The staff had to come in several time and also smelled the odor. They asked if we would like to move and gave us a premium suite. The only problem was having to pack up again and move to another floor. I wish they were able to just check the other rooms and locate the cigarette smoke smell.

In the prev hotel that we stayed I mentioned that it was my daughters bday the next day and they sent a slice of cake up to our room which was a very good gesture.

Pros: We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights, in two separate stays. It was a reasonable distance from the airport and it was a nice hotel. The location was great - the neighborhood was very safe. It was walking distance from quite a few restaurants, coffeeshops, a nice bar, the Glorietta and Greenbelt malls, and the Saturday Salcedo Market. The staff was very nice, the rooms were updated and clean. Overall, a really nice stay. If I visit Manila again, I will definitely consider this hotel.
When we were there the restaurant/bar had not yet opened for dinner/evening hours. Thus, we didn't get a chance to taste the food. However, if it's good, it would be a good addition to our stay. It would be nice to just walk downstairs and grab a drink.

Pros: Guests must understand that this chain is all about location and value for money. People who book expecting huge rooms and tea making facilities need to take a reality check. This hotel is great value for money and is in a very good location. It is very compact but easily does the job for a solo traveller. The staff are extremely friendly and the hotel is clean. The guys on the main entrance were great and I felt safe with them around. Housekeeping staff were terrific also.

Cons: Female supervisor appeared to not like the way I took care of an unruly and rude customer who were cursing at the reception staff. He had a complaint and I directed him to the supervisor mentioned that the customer did calm down after our talk.

Cons: I emailed the hotel in advance to request a quiet room and I reminded the girl (Haydie?) who checked me in. Despite this she gave me a very noisy room (construction noise and loud music directly outside the window!). I then moved to a much quieter room but unfortunately I woke up the next morning covered in bed bug bites (picture attached). I complained to the duty manager on the afternoon of 26 July but her body language indicated that she could not have cared less. I'm not even sure if she apologised to be honest, so shocked was I by her offhand manner. I wasn't particularly seeking financial compensation but I did tell her that her poor attitude would probably lead me to writing about it in this review - sadly, she just rolled her eyes and said nothing. However, I will try not to let one bad apple cloud my opinion of the place.

Cons: I didnt like that communication was a big issue! A friend of mine stayed at this property a month before and suggested this prooerty to stay during my visit. I messaged the property trough bookings and i had to message two days later because i didn't get a response. Requested smoking room in advance but when checking in they said its based on availability and had to settle with a ns room. Although i was given an upgraded i was pretty upset for that and also they were supposed to call me the next day about room change but never recieved a call. Two days later i rang the fd for my laundry and that is when they asked about the smoking room change and i said i called for my laundry only. I was not about to repack all my stuffs and change room since i was checking out the next day. Carpet stains were an issue for me as well. When checking out, i was explaining the room situation to the fd staff and it seems they didn't want to hear it and just blamed someone else like the bookings.com and the resv. dept for the room situation. Should pay more attention to communiction and customer service!

Pros: Room was spacious, if a little old. Bed could do with a new mattress, but it was ok for one. Shower had a good supply of hot water, and the refrigerator worked well. Towels were new, and really lovely! Location is great if you're interested in nightlife and bars, it's all right outside your door. It's a well known area to taxi drivers too, but unfortunately it also attracts the worst kind of drivers, so beware of tricks.

Pros: Room was spacious, if a little old. Bed could do with a new mattress, but it was ok for one. Shower had a good supply of hot water, and the refrigerator worked well. Towels were new, and really lovely! Location is great if you're interested in nightlife and bars, it's all right outside your door. It's a well known area to taxi drivers too, but unfortunately it also attracts the worst kind of drivers, so beware of tricks.
Cons: Aircon was old, but it got the job done eventually. Cable TV was out while I was there, annoying but not critical. Only one lift was working, so it sometimes takes a long time to get to your room. Sheets are old, but clean. Rooms are old too, but they do a decent job looking after them. Desk staff aren't actually at the desk most of the time, but back inside the office.
