Pros: In the heart of Wellington close to the Harbour this hotel hit all the marks: clean, modern, professional staff, great bar, comfortable rooms with great amenities!
9,7 Excellent
Pros: The location is great, with access to harbour facilities. The hotel itself is well appointed and comfortable. With one minor correction, service was excellent. And on the minor point, the hotel went to great lengths to resolve the issue.
Cons: Nothing in particular.

10,0 Excellent

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great staff, wonderful breakfast, excellent bar. Superior rooms, best location.
7,1 Good
Pros: Location was good, staff were super friendly. Breakfast was one of the best I’ve had from hotels for sure.
Cons: Bathroom had water all over the floor. The carpet was not flat and had bumps all over the place and the sheets had visible stains on them. The hair dryer had dust blocking the air intake behind. Would all be acceptable for hotels that are cheaper, but not for hotels around this price range.
10,0 Excellent

Cons: I can’t think of anything I didn’t like

7,5 Good
Pros: Loved the 11am checkout. The bed and pillows were comfy.
Cons: Wifi was not very good, which was disappointing as we were on a business trip and trying to work on our laptops. They forgot items on our room service breakfast order and had to go back twice to get them. Food was ok. For the price we were expecting more homemade hash browns and corn patty but received Watties type frozen hash bites and corn patty. They did give us a good discount on our breakfast at check out though when we advised them of our issues.
8,0 Excellent
Cons: Clear washing machine instructions
9,0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was very convenient to where I was going each day. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good, although I couldn't use the last day due to an early flight, leaving at 4:30 AM to the airport.
Cons: Although the breakfast was very good, the food was hot, but the plates were cold! Also, the person cleaning the room each day kept moving all my cosmetics and other cleaning items to the original places every day, including replacing the towels where I had to open a hand towel every day to dry my hands, while leaving TWO bath towels on the towel bar in place. The room was very tiny, and wouldn't even fit a couple.
7,0 Good
Cons: The only criticism I have is that we tried to check in after 4 pm and the room still wasn't ready. They were very sorry and it was all OK but they had our bags from 10 am so they knew we were there and going to want to get into the room. I thought this was pretty average.

9,0 Excellent
Pros: The location and physical amenities were excellent. The staff were courteous, but a little disorganized at check-in. The restaurant was very good.
Cons: The bed / mattress was a bit soft and it sagged.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Decor and art pieces are marvelous
Cons: Black bath robes
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Gorgeous and interesting hotel with amazing attention to detail.
Cons: Very old elevator- if you don't like them ask for a lower floor.
6,5 Good
Pros: This is a nice hotel in a good location. the staff are friendly but somewhat ineffectual in relation to our issues. The room was spacious and the bed comfortable. the bathroom was generous and well appointed. There is a reasonable gym and a small lap pool
Cons: We had a bad room: the air-conditioning did not work for all of the three nights we stayed there. So the nights were stuffy and had to leave a door open until the noise was too much. This room is right under the restaurant kitchen so we got a lot of floor noise especially at cleaning up time from 10 pm till after midnight and then again for breakfast in the morning. We know kitchens make noise so they can't be criticised but it was a bad choice to locate a room underneath. We did not eat there at all. There are many good restaurants nearby with prices and menus that are more attractive. I understand the hotel has been refurbished but I did not think for the price we should have had to discover the problems.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were super friendly and accommodating. There is a modern and boutique style room, the staff happily changed my room and made my stay enjoyable. Rooms were large with a very comfortable bed. Also had an espresso coffee machine in the room!
10,0 Excellent
Cons: Great breakfast included but would have to pay extra for espresso drinks and teas other than English breakfast....seemed cheap. They provided other teas and espresso in rooms
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Beautifully presented breakfast, great variety of healthy options. Lovely view. Nice touch having the nespresso machine in the rooms.
Cons: Barista coffee at breakfast was below average.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: This Boutique Hotel lives up to its "Boutique" name and is located across the street from the Te Papa museum, next to the waterfront & marina - couldn't be more convenient! Excellent and complete breakfast. Very friendly & helpful personnel throughout all areas of the hotel.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Fun gallery rooms featuring works of various artists. Great harbour view. Very nice restaurant.
Cons: The staff were all quite displaying a øn unfortunatef laissez faire attitude that, although probably seeming cool to some, did not do any good for the rather hapharzard way the hotel was run. Our room was not serviced despite us asking repeatedly for this, the bartenders were not able to make even the simplest of cocktails, orders never arrived despite several polite requests. This was a pity as the hotel could be so great to stay in.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was excellent, staff were helpful, happy and easy to deal with. Great atmosphere in the hotel itself, very relaxed. Shower was BRILLIANT,
Cons: Fried tomatoes at breakfast were not really cooked
Airport Motor Lodge - Wellington - Bedroom

Overview Reviews
When you stay at Airport Motor Lodge in Wellington, you'll be near the airport, within a 5-minute drive of Breaker Bay and The Weta Cave. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. A roundtrip airport shuttle is complimentary (available on request).
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely room, very clean and comfortable and only a short walk to the airport
4,0 Okay
Pros: Located close to airport.
Cons: Assumed as they advertise free shuttle to airport that you could use it irrespective of whether you were then departing on a flight or getting the airport flyer into Wellington or Queensgate. Was told by female receptionist shuttle only available if flying out of Wellington. Also they refused to call a taxi. I agree it's a short walk but if you've heavy luggage and haven't eaten as I didn't realise you have to preorder breakfast by 9pm, and didn't arrive until 1.00am it's very poor service. Luckily the petrol station has some breakfast things if you end up having to walk.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Proximity to airport
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything in my room was clean and well-maintained. The location was quiet at night. I was able to walk to restaurants. There was plenty of overflow parking on the street next to the hotel. The staff was fun and flexible with my late arrival. It could not be more convenient to the airport. Would definitely recommend, especially if proximity to the airport is important to you.
Cons: Nothing.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location for airport which was within walking distance although courtesy bus was ideal when travelling with luggage
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Our flight arrived at midnight. We called the property and the driver was already waiting for us. Check in was super quick and we went straight to our room. The room was perfect for our one night stay before we set off in the morning.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great room- 302-very comfortable bed, great facilities in kitchen, spacious. Great TV channels bedroom and lounge area, great service by staff- friendly and informative. It fitted my budget. Great location.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: We stayed in a spacious one bedroom (one bedroom was closed off). Good seating area, dining table, bedroom and kitchen. Bathroom a little bit smaller but you also have an extra toilet by the bedroom.
Cons: I didn’t like that there was not a machine or the opportunity to buy by reception some snacks (little bag of chips or chocolate). We were late arrivals and had nothing in the room (and close by supermarket was closed). Most hotels that also don’t have a minibar at least have the option to buy snack in the hotel.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic location, spacious rooms and very comfy
Cons: The fact there are no adjoining rooms - instead we booked 2 rooms for us 6 girls. They were great but would have been better if we could have joined them.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Comfy beds, everything was clean & tidy. Kitchen was a great size & rooms were great sizes (bigger than we expected)
Cons: We booked for 2 adults & 4 children. We then had to pay extra cost for extra beds. One bed I believe was complimentary .... but when we book for 4 children, I expect beds to be in the cost. This accommodation was not a cheap option. While we were very happy with the accommodation, it could have been less expensive.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Location was terrific as was the size of the rooms. Housekeeping was top rate and questions were answered promptly.
Cons: There was a difference between the website (breakfast included) and our "plan" with which breakfast was extra. We had a kitchen, though, so we took care of it ourselves.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Location central to bus and Te Papa. Also close to food and supermarket. Laundry facilities available which were not expensive. Comfortable room. Very clean
7,0 Good
Pros: Close to everything, very central and easy to get to.
Cons: Was a bit loud at night but that is mostly due to the RWC and people in the street.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The best hostel I've stayed in - ever! Comfortable, clean single room with desk and chair, with plenty of space to place your belongings. Many hooks and even a construction at the door to hang your towels. Shared bathrooms were clean. Laundry facilities clean and super easy to use, with laundry detergent included. 2 big kitchens that are very well equipped, even with plastic wrap to wrap your sandwiches for the day. They've really thought of everything in this hostel. I've stayed in many hostels, and a lot of them should have a look and learn from the YHA Wellington. Would absolutely come here again!

5,7 Okay
Cons: The Vista suites are part of another building and do not have airconditioning. The rooms are small by todays standards. It was quite a warm day and night and the windows and door had to be opened. Given Wellington is so windy this has its drawbacks and especially noise overnight.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, facilities & view. Breakfast on level 7 was excellent.
8,5 Excellent
Pros: Great location, friendly staff, nice views
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very convenient place position in Wellington. Staff who greeted us were excellent, we mentioned in passing that we were in Wellington for our daughters 18th birthday, when we got back from tea out, there was a lovely piece of chocolate cake in our room. This was a lovely thought, and much appreciated. Room was slightly larger than normal and the bed was very comfortable. View of the bay was great.
Cons: Hallway could be warmer
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable rooms, very nice renovated, great view.
Cons: No mention of additional charge for car parking at time of booking, service at breakfast was slow due large tour group at same time.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful view of Barbour, lovely clean rooms
7,0 Good
Pros: Awesome views of the harbour not too far from the city centre and quiet. Nice big rooms which were very clean but a little tired.
Cons: Room service were difficult to get hold of. Tried calling them at 7.30pm and no answer. Rang reception and they said they would get room service to call me. After half an hour I had not heard anything so rang room service again and managed to get hold of them. Food then arrived reasonably promptly but the bread in the bread and dips I ordered wasnt fresh. My colleague checked in later in the evening and ordered food which took forever to arrive and then the order was incorrect.

Pros: Amazing location for Te Papa and wonderful harbour views

9,0 Excellent
Pros: The location handy to the city
Cons: We could hear the people walking around the floor above us. Our tea and coffee were not replenished each day
8,0 Excellent
Pros: My friend and I spent 3 nights at the Apollo Lodge and we were very pleased with our stay. Staff was pleasant, I believe it was a husband and wife team running the place. The location could not have been better, a 5 minute walk from the downtown area for food and drinks but on a quiet street. Then again, my bed was right by the window so I was woken up a few times by loud people walking by the street. We were in an A-Frame room, which looks like they all border the street. So noise could be an issue in this room type vs. the others.
Cons: Our room also looked different from the online pictures which were of the upstairs rooms. I addressed this with the staff and they said they could not control which pictures were shown. A bit disappointing, but the room was the same layout nonetheless. The beds were not the most comfortable beds but they did just fine.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Only 2 min walk from the clubs
7,9 Good
Cons: The room was dated for a premium price.
5,0 Okay
Pros: great location
Cons: room right on footpath and not double glazed. Could hear conversations on foot path, car doors etc
9,0 Excellent
Pros: very nice in general, easy to find your way to the CBD close to most amenities, excellent all round.
Cons: would of been nice to know we could of parked our car outside our door, nevermind next time if we get the same room
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Perfectly located close to the city, but still quiet enough for a good night's sleep.

7,1 Good
Pros: Service down at the counter and at Breakfast. Bed was super comfy. Arranging of luggage storage and Shuttle to Airport. Being able to get into my room very early was absolutely amazing.
Cons: The AirConditioning unit was playing up and when I called reception to get it sorted my call was not answered. We did have the AC technician arrive as we were leaving though so there must have been problems in other rooms as well. Basic info was not readily available in the info pack like mini bar pricing, wifi code. Instruction manual for AC unit was frustrating but that maybe because it was playing up so anything I did do would only last 2 mins. The info pack said that pool toys were available but I couldn't find any so toys would've been great.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Staff very friendly and helpful. Food was very good. Will definitely b3 back.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Bed amazing!
Cons: No beer in the fridge or snacks
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very friendly and extremely helpful. Great location and wonderful facilities. Highly recommended.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Food great
Cons: More carpark .. could park at the hotel as it was booked out. Spa not hot enough.
7,9 Good
Pros: The location was actually perfect. It was close to everything we needed for a great stay. The staff were friendly and mostly helpful. Special mention to the male barista who was working on Sunday 28th October. He had great service and genuinely interested in conversation!
Cons: The parking was quite tricky as it was difficult to secure a spot, I know this is not up to the property as the parking is limited, but this did put a dampener on the trip. All the local parking companies only seem to be limited to 12 hours, so it can make parking quite expensive.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Quick easy check in, free room upgrade, swanky bar lounge to relax in, beautiful and clean rooms, comfy big beds, delicious breakfast buffet, great central location and close to supermarket
7,0 Good
Pros: The breakfast was amazing, easily our favorite part. The pool was pretty good, happy with those facilities. The parking around the area was not great though and when I asked staff for help to locate an area I could park for more than 2 hours at a time, I got conflicting information. I wound up getting better info from the person on till at the Portlander. We did really enjoy the stay and appreciated the staffs help and kindness.
Cons: The first room we had was a great view but had a horrible shower that was broken. There was also other damage apparent in the room and the whole bathroom floor got wet when the shower ran. The staff swapped us with no fuss to a nicer room afterwards which was fantastic. We ordered the Charcuterie board from room service later at night. It really shouldn't be served to guests. It was a plate of salami with some onion slices, capers and slices of bread. The salami was not pleasant to eat and actually kind of smelled bad. Didn't want to make a fuss at the time but just worth looking into that as it really was quite disappointing to receive. There were no other meats, not cheeses or anything else on the plate. It just felt like a bit of a joke. Especially seeing as we paid the same price as a full main meal for a plate of gross salami.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice location, excellent restaurant inside, very helpful staff.
9,0 Excellent
Cons: Kids running in hallway No car park for general use - only valet offered and not told how much it would cost
7,4 Good
Pros: Location was good and staff very helpful and friendly
Cons: Room decor and fittings a could use a bit of a redo

9,6 Excellent
Pros: We used the hotel as an overnight stop to catch an early morning flight, so the location was fantastic, close to town, the Mount Victoria lookout, which absorbed the spare time we had, and then in the morning we had a very quiet, short, low traffic drive to the airport. Kitchenette was very useful, as was the assurance of a parking space.
Cons: Nothing to say here. Property delivered everything it promises.
6,3 Good
Cons: stairs up to the room not suitable for old ladies...the fridge in the room had weird stains on it. I lost my cellphone in the room and never found it. I paid for 3 nights and only stayed 2 as my daughter had a small op and I stayed with her I requested my money back but was told 'booking.com' had to be contacted..and of course I had no phone, so that was money wasted ..

Pros: Comfy bed ,warm and good coffee.

Pros: Room was fresh, new furnishings , well appointed good parking, very safe and secure. Handy to supermarket and eateries. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Overview Reviews
Novotel Wellington is a 4.5 star hotel located in the heart of the CBD, close to iconic attractions - Te Papa, Cable Car, Botanical Gardens and the Waterfront. Our modern accommodation rooms have a pop of colour and are designed with guest comfort in mind. All rooms feature smart flat screen televisions, working desks and plenty of natural light.
6,5 Good
Pros: The location was perfect. The room was clean and the beds are very comfortable.
Cons: We interacted with 2 staff members from the front desk. One was incredibly helpful and kind. The other was rude and acted as though we were just 'stupid tourists' despite the fact that I would imagine a lot of their business is from tourism. When we valet parked our car, they required that we go down to get our luggage from the vehicle and then had to walk back up the ramp against traffic - very odd considering we paid $34 for one night of parking. Then, seeing how we are not from NZ, and discussed our travels, we were not aware that we had to put our card into this slot near the door to engage any power. This was not obvious to us, and it is not customary in hotels in the US. When we called down to ask if they had an idea why our AC wasn't working, the woman (who also worked with us at the front desk) was clearly irritated with us and acted as though we were idiots. While this seems like a small collection of interactions, it left a very poor taste in my mouth in regards to my stay at Novotel Wellington.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We enjoyed the setup of the room and the location.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The location was great , all the staff were wonderful and easy stay
Cons: Everything was wonderful couldn’t fault anything
10,0 Excellent
Cons: The washroom could have been cleaned a little more. No fragrance when entering the room - you usually get a nice smell!
7,5 Good
Pros: Reception Staff were very helpful and efficient in my request for an upgrade. New room was clean and spacious, cleaned daily. When I requested for another room option , I was moved to the 9th floor with the same room specifications, it was more like the room advertised initially prior to booking.
Cons: My first room on the 3rd floor was small and different from the pictures advertised.
6,2 Good
Pros: Room was clean and staff were great, friendly and accomodating
Cons: Lacks any facilities, no pool, not even a laundry to do some washing. Sent down the road to their sister hotel the Ibis with bags of washing was not something I was going to bother doing.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Convenient location just off the state highway and ferry terminal about 10 mins in the morning. Clean room, very comfortable beds . WiFi speed great. In house dining options good at a reasonable price with a low surcharge for room service. Reception Staff helpful. Quick walk to the waterfront.
Cons: Parking near the property is difficult in the car park next door. Surcharge for valet parking, which was not approved by our rental company anyway. Although you can pay the self car parking fee directly at the hotel and enter and leave multiple times in 24 hrs.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Great value breakfast buffett. Location good with easy access to Lambton Quay. Menu for dinner god and food well presented
Cons: Lost picture on TV during world cup final. All channels had lost picture.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was great and the bed was so comfortable. Was easy to walk to the WOW venue and enjoyed the market and walking along the waterfront
Cons: We weren't able to eat dinner there as it was booked out so had to go out in the rain to find somewhere to eat. The hotel did provide us with umbrellas though.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly welcome at the reception and the staff has explained kindly how to get to ferry terminal, we were happy with the service. We did not have much time to enjoy the hotel this time but we will 100% come back to stay there.
Cons: Not much that I could say on to this question, as we have checked in at 8 pm and checked out by 2 am to catch the early ferry.
9,7 Excellent
Pros: Nice room and nice bathroom. I’m picky about bathrooms - this one was nice.
Cons: I was only there for a night. I didn’t discover any negatives.
6,3 Good
Pros: Bar service was fantastic . Staff very friendly,
Cons: Check in wasn’t very welcoming or friendly. Swipe card didn’t work and had to kept being replaced . We actually couldn’t not only get into room but were stranded out on the street 2 nights in a row and had to wait for other guests to let us in . Staff didn’t seem that concerned when reported to them. Property needs a buzzer that can be used for allowing access.

7,1 Good
Pros: The owners were really lovely, dropped us to the venue each morning just down the road and were approachable and helpful. Shower was good, bathroom was clean. Decor was fine and the linen was all clean
Cons: The bed needs to be replaced. Even my daughter who is 15 ended up with a sore back and shoulders and didn't sleep well. The fridge was noisy, I think the thermostat was stuffed so I ended up switching it off after an hour of noise the level of an extractor fan in the room (drove me nuts), which meant the milk and the food we had brought for breakfast got thrown away.
7,5 Good
Pros: The late check in is great, because we were traveling down from Auckland and we had a 8hr drive
Cons: The smell of the room wasn’t great maybe change the fragrance used to freshen the room ✅
6,2 Good
Pros: Staff were friendly and helpful. Close to ferry terminal.
Cons: Some dirty cutlery and noisy traffic. Bed and pillows were hard.
