Pros: Beautiful hotel in the Black Forest, large and comfortable rooms. Great breakfast buffet. A light lunch buffet is also included which comes in handy after the generous breakfast. The restaurant for dinner is superb though on the expensive side. Friendly staff, very responsive to guest requests.
Cons: Restaurant for dinner is great but a bit expensive and closes very early (7:30). It's the norm for small town restaurants so not really surprising but for guests it would be useful to have some choices if you get there a bit later, for example coming back from a day trip.
Pros: Almost everything. Great breakfast and dinner, very kind staff, quiet place and surroundings. Lucky also to enjoy a lot of snow. Also great pool and sauna(s).
Cons: Maybe a coffee machine in the room would help.
A stay at Hotel Adler places you in the heart of Freudenstadt, just a 5-minute walk from Freudenstadt Marktplatz and within a 5-minute drive of Freudenstadt Golf Club. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, dry cleaning/laundry services, and luggage storage. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Confort, position, modern room
Cons: Not family friendly. They charged 60 euro extra because our baby wet a bed.
Pros: Proprietors and staff friendly
Cons: I preferred the more traditional end of the restaurant
Pros: Right in the centre of town with garage parking. We had booked a garage for our motorcycle but inconsiderate parking from other guests meant the garage was blocked. The hotel staff went out of their way to accommodate us and even vacated their own personal garage to make sure our needed were looked after. Smart modern room with a huge bath. Lovely breakfast and food looked ok but we did not eat there. Would definitely stay again.
Pros: Great staff (very accomodating with language barrier) and great rooms (especially the bathroom). We really enjoyed our stay as part of a longer journey for our honeymoon. We would stay here again.

Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, dry cleaning/laundry services, and multilingual staff. Pros: Bathroom with separate toilet. Spacious room with balcony. Large comfy bed. Spacious breakfast room with plenty of choice for breakfast.
Cons: Odd timber frame separating sitting area from sleeping area.
Pros: It was a very beautiful place and I loved it. Thank you.
Cons: That I couldn't speak German.
Pros: Very clean and neat, location very quiet.
Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice restaurant and spa facility. If you are looking for a place to unwind and relax, this is the one!
Cons: The towels and bedsheets are a bit old. Can tell they have been washed a million times. But still clean.
Pros: Highways on two sides and train on the other. No air- cons& too noisy to open windows. To hot. Not suitable for tourists. Only local packaged retirees.
Cons: Noise & too hot with windows closed. Poor receptionist with snooty attitude. No hospitality for tourists to stopover in Black Forest.
Pros: Our room was spacious with a large bathroom and monsoon shower. The veranda looked out on to meadows and forested hills. We enjoyed the small indoor swimming pool and the large sauna. There are a number of walking routes that start from the hotel. As well as the A la Carte menu in the restaurant, there is also the cheaper Bienenkorble menu. The staff were always cheerful, friendly and helpful.

Pros: An excellent buffet breakfast with a huge array of different treats not to mention additional egg dishes cooked on request. This had to be the most welcoming hotel we have stayed in worldwide with a beautiful large bedroom. Although we did not experience any of the wellness services there is a very nice indoor pool and plenty of healthy packages on offer. Igelsberg is a small pretty village surrounded by Black Forest walking and cycling routes only a few minutes drive from all the facilities of Freudenstadt. A must see for animal lovers is the nearby wolf and bear park.
Pros: Hotel Krone exceeded our expectations with it's typical Black Forest Charm. All the staff were super friendly and we can highly recommend it.
Cons: We liked everything
Cons: The menu in German only and it been hard to order a dinner.
Pros: Bed is comfortable, nice terrace and spacious rooms, very clean rooms.
Cons: We could not reach the hotel by phone so we booked through booking.com and wrote them an email. They asked for our phone number to call us back but they did not. We asked for a quiet room which was approved through booking but it was on the corner, to the street, with also noisy guests above us. The waiter (also receptionist) was for us too exuberant when we only wanted to have a quiet dinner.

Pros: Very friendly staff, clean and well equip room, breakfast is excellent. Will recommend others to come here. Of course parking is free.
Cons: Nothing. Everything was perfect!
Pros: Very peaceful setting with lovely view and a very friendly welcome. Slightly dated but extremely clean tidy room. Traditional German fare for evening meal - lovely.
Cons: Nothing to dislike!
Pros: Quiet location, parking, lovely ambience. Super friendly and delightful hosts. They made it a great place to stay.
Cons: Nothing - loved it all
Pros: Food was very good. Owner very helpful. Lovely quiet location.
With a stay at Hotel Warteck in Freudenstadt, you'll be a 3-minute walk from Freudenstadt Marktplatz and within a 5-minute drive of Freudenstadt Golf Club. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby and dry cleaning/laundry services.
Pros: Very comfortable hotel with friendly helpful staff. The hotel was centrally located near the main square. The room was very clean and comfortable with a minibar (reasonable prices), hot water kettle and glassware. The cable TV had a wide range of channels and excellent internet service. The breakfast buffet had a wide range of offering with made to order egg choices. Dinner at the hotel restaurant was exceptional (of Michelin quality) with an extensive wine list at all prices. I highly recommend this hotel and would return.
Cons: Unfortunately for us, some of the rooms and hallway was undergoing renovation. However, it did not affect the comfort of our room and the future guests will have newly renovated rooms on the lower levels. There was no elevator, so guests with mobility issues should ask for lower level rooms.
Pros: The staff were fantastic and the breakfasts were delicious. The restaurant in particular were super accommodating of my small children.
Cons: Carrying my luggage up all the stairs, but the authenticity of the „older“ style building was worth it.
Pros: breakfast was excellent with array of juices, breads, cheeses, cold meats, fruit and spreads. Also 2 eggs done to your preference and bacon optional. Coffee and tea. What more could you ask.
Cons: We are on a long journey into cold climes, consequently bulky luggage. Stairs easily negotiated but not preferred. I understand that in older buildings lifts not always installable. In balance, we preferred the location to the worry over the steps but as older travellers there will come a time when we cannot take up that option.
Pros: Just updated
Cons: The food is excellent in the restaurant
Pros: I was emailed with the door code to get in prior to arriving. They had our key in the hotel restaurant, ready for our arrival. We arrived around 6pm and placed our things in the room and went down to the restaurant for food. We had a lovely dinner. Unfortunately it was the first snow of the season (for them, not us!) and the renovations seemed to affect the number of guests in the restaurant. We had a great sleep and then had our breakfast buffet which was larger than we expected, considering we were the only guests they had. I beautiful drive there from Basel, Switzerland and back. I would suggest this place if you are looking to stay in the area.
Cons: The hotel was partially under renovations due to water damage prior to our arrival. It didn't affect our overnight stay. I would suggest that they inform future guests, while the renovations are under place, just as a heads up. It didn't bother us, but be warned of the stairs required to get up to the rooms. We didn't see a lift/elevator.
Cons: Our family had to keep the windows open all night because we smelled from the painted windows. I told the staff about this, but they answered that they did not understand, and there were not apologies and checks. Breakfast was terrible .
Pros: This small Hotel just 3 km from Freudenstadt was perfect for our 1 night stay. It s at a very quiet location what we really liked. The room was spotless clean, there was everything you needed. The value for money was really good. At the breakfast there was good coffee, marmelade, nutella, cheese , ham, etc., yoghurts, cereals, juices, eggs. People who complained here about no sweet cakes, fruit, vegetables etc should book more expensive 5 starhotels with huge breakfastbuffets. We really found it great for this price. The breakfastroom is sunny and cosy and has a brilliant view as well. Sauna opens at 17.00. Tell the owner what time you want to use it and she ll turn it on for you. 30 Minutes later its ready f use. It s not a big saunaarea, but clean, lovely decorated and you ll get a bathrobe and towels extra. We liked our stay and are thinking about coming back in the summer. For those who don twant to go out f diner to Freudenstadt, he hotel next door has a restaurant. We didnt go there because the service at the terrace for just a cup of coffee was very slow and with a lack of inerest. Altough there were only 6 others guests
Cons: Everything was good. No complaints. One thing: it s not a good location if you don t have a car.
Pros: Rooms were cleaned, big enough. Location was very good - closed to touristic roads. Quite place with beautiful view. Also owners are very kind and nice. If I go to Scharzwald area again, I will stay surely here again ;-)
Cons: Breakfast could be a bit bigger - more sweet stuff to be offered and maybe some bacon or sausages. However for 1-2 nights stay it was enough
Pros: It was good quantity food
Cons: not anything
Pros: The staff were very nice, the spa was lovely and it was cheap
Cons: The mattress and pillow were average
Pros: Very spacious Quiet and komfortable clean room. BED WAS VERY COMFORTABLE!! Sauna Area was Great ! for relaxing after a day hiking Breakfast was good. Karin was friendly and helpful.
Cons: Everything was Great! Nothing to complain.
Pros: Spacious, clean and comfortable room; located in beautiful country side; short drive (5 minutes) to the center of Freudenstadt; good breakfast

Cons: Pillows were not very comfortable otherwise was a great stay
Pros: Breakfast was rich and tasty. The room very spacious with a balcony facing the forest ,very pleasant and quiet atmosphere.
Pros: Stafff were very helpful and friendly to all requests
Cons: No lift to the first floor after long enjoyable walks in the forest a lift would be handy, but not really a big deal.
Pros: Difficult to say really. Didn’t arrive till 11 pm and left at 7:30. Huge room though.
Cons: The mini bar was empty
Pros: Great Breakfast,Friendly host that let me use the garage for my bike....really nice little place!!
Cons: Nothing really!!Maybe the evening meal was a little on the expensive side.
This historic hotel is located right in the heart of the spa town of Freudenstadt, a climatic health resort of international renown. Come and stay here to enjoy the long tradition of hospitality. Do a cellar tour, beginning at the unique 300-year old vaulted cellar in the hotel. Marvel at the scenic backdrop of the renowned market square of Freudenstadt, with its historical arcade shops. Travel somewhat further afield and explore the beautiful surrounding Black Forest countryside.
Pros: The staff were very accommodating, helping me find a parking space and storing my bicycles in a secure space (the chef is a keen cyclist). The restaurant is excellent, where again the staff were brilliant. They made sure we had a high chair for our son every morning before we even arrived for breakfast, gave him a little toy to play with, and frequently came over to chat. The location is also perfect, just a few meters away from the square. We will definitely return.
Pros: Wonderful staff, great location, great food!
Cons: Pillows could have been a little better.
Pros: Very good evening meal in the restaurant.
Cons: Narrow Bath to stand and shower in. No tea or coffee making facilities in the room.

Pros: They were fabulous to work with for our group. We actually ate their for lunch each day also because the food was fantastic. Highly recommended
Pros: Location and breakfast
Cons: The snowfall turned to rain. Not the Hotels fault.
Pros: The hotel was beautiful as was the friendly atmosphere. The staff couldn't do enough to help. We can't wait to go again and highly recommended Hotel Cafe Gunter (especially the cakes!!)
Cons: I didn't like the lift, but that's just me, I don't like lifts
Pros: I loved everything! It was homey, the views are beautiful, the rooms are spacious and the owner is present every day at the hotel making sure everything goes well. The food is great and so are the desserts like Black Forrest cake!
Cons: I loved everything!
Pros: Very friendly staff. The rooms were nice, clean and warm. We enjoyed the almost instant hot water from the tap. Nice breakfast included.
With a stay at Hotel Langenwaldsee in Freudenstadt, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Freudenstadt Golf Club and Freudenstadt Marktplatz. Featured amenities include luggage storage, laundry facilities, and a safe deposit box at the front desk. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The location was lovely beside a small lake. The breakfast was wonderful. And the pool was a good size with view of the lake. Everything was very clean.
Cons: We had some problems communicating with restaurant staff so we didn't get exactly what we ordered. At the same time the food was very nice.
Pros: Great place to stay, both the hotel and surroundings are beautiful. Excellent restaurant, highly recommendable
Cons: The room I had did not have a desk but a low table. Not ideal for business people that need to do some work.
Pros: Very friendly and accommodating staff; great location; comfortable, modern room; great restaurant; wonderful spa.
Cons: Nothing to dislike.
Pros: Nice location for the rooms with a lake view, town was a short drive.
Cons: Cleaners come too early in the morning as didn’t leave card hanging on door. Several dogs barking, strange for a spa hotel
Pros: Nice looking hotel on a small lake. That is one of the best things I can tell about this place. Most other experiences with this hotel were much less positive. Actually it was the worst staying in Germany we had during our road trip. Pitty for such a beautiful place.
Cons: One of our lesser staying in Germany during the roadtrip. Both with Check-in & out was the staff rude. The pool (reason I booked it) was closed when we came. Prices for Spa are ridiculous (not communicated on here) WiFi is bad and our overall staying is not what we expected from such a nice looking place. Pitty its also so close to a highway. Even during walks in the forrest did you hear the cars racing by. It looks nice, but there are many better places to stay when visiting the Black Forrest. Breakfast; Many positive reviews, but we came 45min before ending of breakfast time and almost all food was gone. Not even some eggs. Pitty the staff made us not feel welcomed here.
Pros: Very comfortable and large rooms. Delicious breakfast. Very helpful staff. Very good location to visit Black Forest
Pros: The staff were very friendly and kind. We loved their uniforms and professional attitude. It is an ideal place to relax, enjoy tranquility, and have a pleasant time. The place is great. My wife and I loved it.
Cons: It was unusually hot while we were there.
Pros: Incredible view and very helpful personal. Really nice new and clean rooms
Pros: Decent breakfast buffet, lovely staff, short walk to town
Cons: Noise of traffic
Pros: The village it is in, the generous breakfast
Cons: Nothing to mention
Pros: Personell was really nice and helpfull, wonderfull view from the restaurant terrace, spa is a 5 min walk up on the hill though. The surroundings of the hotel are still in renovation, for sure it will look nicer than at the moment.
Cons: Not much negative to say, first morning at the breakfast was weird as nobody was at the restaurant entrance to sit you and when I went to sit near the windows with the nice wiev I saw that all tables are reserved. Had to find a service person to ask where I can sit as the reserved signs were so small, you saw only when u were right at the table.

Pros: It is a hotel with little frills but good comfort and in a great location for hikes right out the door.
Cons: Bathrooms could be upgraded.
Pros: Compact size of the hotel. Free parking.
Pros: The staff are very nice and the hotel is clean, beds are comfortable. the staff even helped us get a cab from freudenstadt hbf to the hotel because we arrived late at night. I will recommend this to my friends.
Pros: Pleasant outdoor seating and friendly staff
Pros: Owner was particularly helpful when we had problems with the car.
Cons: Had to wait over an hour for food to be served in the restaurant. Shower was difficult to get in and out of as it was raised high from the floor. Good job there was a grab rail. Room was spacious but in need of updating.

Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, dry cleaning/laundry services, and luggage storage. Free self parking is available onsite.
Cons: Nobody was in the reception when we came there. We did not stay there.
Pros: Our room was very comfortable, clean and in a good location for our purposes - going hiking: lots of well-marked routes in the area. The staff were helpful and it was good to be able to have breakfast outdoors.
Pros: Good breakfast, nice garage for motorcycle, sauna and pool
Cons: Fridge in room not working at all although light comes on when opening door. Everything warm inside and bar of chocolate virtually liquid, needless to say I did not use.
Pros: Room comfortable. Very good breakfast. Garage parking for bike.
Cons: Restaurant was closed Shower in room poor
Pros: Breakfast was good although lacking in variation Free parking on site
Cons: Was more like a boarding house than a hotel. Quite a long way out of the town centre. Adverised restaurant was closed.
Pros: The hotel is 10 min by car from the downtown. It’s quiet and beautiful. You can enjoy the beauty of the town as a “bird view”. There is even a indoor swimming pool in the hotel. The room is super big but be careful, the wild insects will fly into the room in the night.:)
Cons: The staff there speak very little English however they are very helpful! We communicate mostly by body language:p
When you stay at DORMERO Hotel Freudenstadt in Freudenstadt, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Freudenstadt Marktplatz and Freudenstadt Golf Club. Featured amenities include a 24-hour business center, express check-in, and dry cleaning/laundry services. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
Pros: Breakfast is good but the price is relativ high. Reception staff is very kind.
Cons: The hotel building, floor etc looks much older than the pictures in booking. I don't feel very comfortable. Room style is OK.
Pros: Perfect balance price/quality
Pros: No extra charge for children in the room or at breakfast. Very large comfy bed with large tv and free films on demand in original version.
Cons: This hotel does not have the necessary finesse of a 4 star hotel, some youth hostels have more luxury. Very small room and even smaller bathroom. The parking is charged 10 euro while it's not even in a city center.
Pros: The size of the room and all the hotel installation are formidable. It is really a good deal for its price and it is not so far from city centre.
Cons: Paying parking even though it was on the street.
Pros: Rooms were nice and comfortable. Got a family suite with connected room for kids which was great. The facilities were far better than my expectations. Bath room was quite clean.
Cons: Underground parking is too narrow. TV does not seem to have parental control and contains adult contents. Location of the hotel is ideal for someone visiting Black Forst but not for those wanting to use it as a stopover.
Pros: One of the nicer Hotels we've been in. Friendly and helpful Staff, lots of things to do on site. The rooms were fancy designed and clean. Big flatscreen TV with a variety of Blockbusters to choose from, fancy led lighting, free Minibar stocked with a few soft drinks. Great view over Freudenstadt from the balcony. Fast check in and check out. We will definitely come back.
Located in Freudenstadt, Hotel König Karl is a 2-minute drive from Freudenstadt Golf Club and 6 minutes from Freudenstadt Marktplatz. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Close to train station
Cons: Very noisy. Had to have windows open as room was warm but noise from traffic was loud. Plus building construction started up early in the morning.
Pros: Very close to the train station, which in my case was great. About 1 km walk to downtown, which is also nice.Good breakfast, and nice friendly host.
Pros: The room was a total surprise, absolutely immaculate! The most comfortable bed I slept on in three weeks away from home. A really large room, with a lovely bathroom. Breakfast was exelent,
Cons: Quite an odd little gasthof. The outside spaces ie the beer garden, was extremely rundown, it didn't look like it had been cared for in ages. I don't think it had been used for a long time. The carpets leading up to the rooms was filthy! I got the impression that the guy that runs it , is a 'one man band', it really does need sorting out.
Pros: Nice spacious room with very good shower. Large bed. Friendly host, garage for motorbikes and reasonable price.
Located in Freudenstadt, Hotel Schwarzwald Freudenstadt is a 5-minute drive from Freudenstadt Marktplatz and 8 minutes from Freudenstadt Golf Club. Featured amenities include a computer station, dry cleaning/laundry services, and multilingual staff. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: roominess garden around hotel bistro/bar service and atmposhere
Cons: looks of dining/breakfast room and the quality of the breakfast as well as the dinner (okay but not fitting to the first impression of the hotel)
Pros: One of the receptionists remembered us from 2years ago and was helpful
Cons: We booked the kegelbahn on the first day and waited for our game on the third day but one of the girls on reception let a german family play and wasnt interested in the fact we had booked it..very disappointing and disrespectful .. The buffet was very over priced for a few pieces of pork and broccoli. We ate a better meal at the schnell imbiss for a fraction of the cost..
Cons: we didn"t like the a la carte restaurant! The breakfast was good but a bit boring
Pros: The bed was comfortable. Breakfast was very good.
Cons: The game room and bowling ally were very old and not well maintained.
Pros: Staff! Sauna! And location.
Cons: Reservation wasn't ready when we arrived. Not a biggie.
Pros: I enjoyed NOT to to be there anymore
Cons: The bedroom was advertised as extra-large; what a coarse lie! Upon checking in, we had to rush and occupy the last parking spot available, in front of another customer who got less lucky; what an unpleasant feeling! No access to an overstressed internet, and nobody at the reception desk at 19:15 (!) to help us solve the problem. After waiting there for ~ 15 minutes (!) I had to require the restaurant's waiters TWICE to have someone go to the reception desk. Still, we had no access to the internet until the next morning (!) But we were assured that things would get better the next month; how nice... The waiters are obviously fresh immigrants, that is the cheapest workforce ever, that the hotel's owners could hire: unfriendly (with 1 exception) and unqualified. So unqualified indeed, that one of them gave us a description of a dish, at dinner, that had little to do with what was served to us (!) Regardless, food was NOT great, to say the least. Nor was breakfast. The showers of the sauna were ALL cold (very cold). Half of the swimming pool's showers did not work (!) In one of the floors leading to our bedroom, there was a cabinet half open (?!) My friend checked what was inside it: a mess of blankets and pillows stuck on top of each other in a mess; were they clean I may ask...? So I did an experiment: I pulled half of it out of the cabinet, to make it look like as if it had fallen down through an unlocked door, and I told my friend: let us wait and see how much time it will take those people to see the mess (their mess) and tidy it up. Need I say that nothing had been done by the time we checked out?
Pros: We enjoyed the playing room to do ping pong, billiard, games etc.
Cons: For both breakfast and dinner, there are few vegetables.
Located in Freudenstadt, Hotel Hirsch is within a 10-minute drive of Freudenstadt Marktplatz and Alternative Wolf and Bear Park Black Forest. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Event facilities at this hotel consist of a conference center and a meeting room. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The location is a quiet place just out of Freudenstadt. There are big grass covered ope grounds next to the hotel. A 5 minutes walk and you reach the heart of the Black Forest. Trekking through the forests nearby was amazing, just like in movies; but remember to take a lamp with you, it can feel dark even at 11am in October. The rooms are beautiful, cozy, clean and have a balcony with seating for a nice coffee. The lobby is an especially well decorated.
Cons: Location is far from tourist places in south of Black Forest like Titisee Neustade (100km), Triberg(50 km). Staff are not really helpful for foreign tourists, only 1 guy understood English. Hot water was not provided in the bathroom until 7:30am, so early morning trips had to be postponed. Nobody was available in reception till 7:30am to help with any issue. Breakfast served is not worth the money at all.
Pros: It's in a nice location set not too far from the local town.
Cons: Warmer rooms.
Pros: Value for money.
Cons: Not many choices in the restaurant.
Cons: Very rude staff. Almost felt like we were bothering him when checking in. Before traveling there we asked for an earlier check-in, however no answer . We were locked out of our room because the old balcony door locked us out due to it's bad an old condition. While being locked out, we tried to call the staff for help, however no answer. Nobody was at the front desk so we had to jump off the balcony in order to even leave the room. Horrible service , rude and unprofessional
Pros: The location of this place cannot be beaten. Amazing views all around. Comfortable space.
Cons: The staff could have been friendlier.
Pros: Amazing surroundings! Birds in the evening, owls at night, forrest... I loved it. And we could also speak Russian.
