Staff and parking wear very good
I payed 15 pound for two berakfasts when we went to get the food thear was very little to choose from.
We stayed for 2 nights and overall it was what we needed, considering we planned on visiting the city more than staying in. Staff is really friendly. Bus station to city centre is literally across the street.
Room was really small and the private bathroom also.
Restaurant and reception area were nice and modern, smoking areas provided and nicely decorated. Reception available 24/7, gentleman on reception was very polite, quite busy phones etc so kept apologising for keeping me waiting. Easy access to public transport in the area and a Tesco Express close by. Comfortable beds.
Quite old and outdated room decor, lots of noise from the windows in front facing room as right next to a busy road. Lack of private bathrooms for most rooms and poorly working locks on the shared bathrooms. Kettle provided in the room quite dirty.
Argumentative host and misleading pictures with little clarity as to the different tiers and general state of the rooms
Not enough pictures of the property so impressions can be misleading
The hotel was clearly not the 4-star expected. I suppose the British star ratings are far below european ratings. The equivalent to a 2,5-3 star in Europe. I cannot make an evaluation if the price / rating / quality was reasonable, as I have not visit other hotels in the area / London.
The radiator heating in the room was running at full throttle, without possibility to turn down or off. Instead a fan was installed to circulate the air, and in conjunction with a open window. However the noise from the road outside (a fair amount of police sirens every night) made the night a bit restless. The following day the radiator was off. The staff was polite.
