They need to improve the cleanliness. The bed sheets were clean, but the bathroom was poorly if at all cleaned the soap dish had layers and layers of dry old soap on it tea cup and spoon in the room had residues of some kind of yoghurt from previous occupier. I did ask if my bathroom can be cleaned properly but it didn't happen... So would I stay again? Yes if I'm on very tight budget
Friendly, helpful reception. Being moved into the new annex, which wasn’t expected & with the lovely kitchen facilities. Nice fresh bathroom.
Claustrophobic having no window to open for fresh air
Nothing, absolutely NOTHING! There is absolutely nothing to like about this hotel. I cannot, in all honesty, think of any redeeming feature!
Where do I start? The man at the reception was rude when I phoned to ask for direction, as we were in the neighbourhood but simply could not find the place, and he pretty quickly hung up on me. Maybe it was my French accent? He was equally grumpy and unhelpful when we eventually found it and he let us in, though, admittedly, he might have had reasons to be as we were quite a few hours later than we had said we would be, but what happened to customer service? Maybe you are not entitled to it in a budget hotel, it's possibly not included in the price! The room was pretty bare, just about clean, with no bedside lamps, just one main light in the middle of the room and a switch by the door, which meant fumbling and stumbling in the dark to get back to bed after switching it off. There was no chair to sit on, tea bags and sugar but no spoons to stir it in the cups, the en suite bathroom offered the tiniest of shower space with microscopic soaps. The room looked out on an extremely busy main road, and, having to leave the single glazed window open the whole night for some fresh air, the constant roar of passing cars, night busses, the sirens of police cars and ambulances flying by made for a very poor quality of sleep indeed. The so-called continental breakfast consisted of a couple of white toasted bread slices, cheap, tasteless jam and butter, and coffee. You had to actually go and ask for tea as there was none at hand next to the coffee, and you were then presented with a pot of a pale liquid that could as well have been dish water. The whole experience was a rather depressing one and neither my husband, or myself would recommend this hotel to anyone. It certainly does not deserve any star rating. It calls itself a budget hotel and it's exactly what it is, budget quality, certainly not worth the £64+ we paid for our stay!
Clean rooms and tea /coffee making facilities
They were understanding when I arrived after 10 pm. (I arrived at Kings Cross at 21.50 although my Grand Central ticket gave an arrival time of 18.09).
The TV control had its oddities.
