It’s a beautiful hotel with a great history it could do with an upgrade but it’s in the heart of the city and the staff are very friendly. You need to look around the lobby area it’s beautiful

Booked only because my car was locked in a car park. The hotel has obviously seen better days however. It was clean, staff were very helpful and cheerful. The room was clean, beds were very comfortable and it was so quiet ?? Youd never have known you were in city centre.

A window that opened would have been nice! Fresh air freaks from the country

Room size and linen and towels good.

Breakfast a real let down. No hot water for tea. Felt like a school canteen and its £12 which is not a bargain. Come Adelphi sort that out !!! I am from Liverpool and felt ashamed.

FAQs when booking at Britannia Adelphi Hotel

Why should I stay in the Britannia Adelphi Hotel instead of another hotel?
Dating all the way back to 1826, the Britannia Adelphi Hotel was once world famous for its turtle soup and wealthy visitors, with past examples including the renowned writer Charles Dickens. It later became one of the preferred meeting spots for British politician Winston Churchill, and only just avoided being bombed during the second World War. The 1940s saw another influx of celebrities from the time, such as Bob Dylan, Frank Sinatra, and Judy Garland. Although the hotel now does not boast the same elite clientele, its rich history remains, making it a unique and interesting spot to learn about Liverpool and see pieces of the city’s past.
What are the best rooms to stay in at the Britannia Adelphi Hotel and why?
For an affordable option that still contains standard amenities, opt for the Lexx Standard Room, which can sleep two people and has a small fireplace, coffee and tea making facilities, and a spacious en-suite bathroom. If you wish to have more space, select the Double Suite Room, which has its own separate living room that is equipped with a comfortable leather couch and a large coffee table.
Does the Britannia Adelphi Hotel offer any special packages or discounts for guests?
For guests that would like to treat themselves during their stay at the Britannia Adelphi Hotel, book the Champagne Break, a package that will provide you with breakfast, a room upgrade, and a bottle of champagne during a two-night stay. If you’re interested in staying in the hotel for the holidays, there are also packages for Christmas and New Year’s Eve, which give guests access to three-course dinners, lunches, entertainment, and even exciting galas.
What wedding packages are offered by the Britannia Adelphi Hotel?
The Classic Package is designed for weddings that will have between 50 to 100 guests and provides services such as arrival drinks, basic decorations for the reception, a DJ, the hotel’s bridal suite for the couple during the night of the wedding, and a three-course meal. The Twilight Package contains similar perks but is reserved specifically for the evening and can support up to 80 guests. To have a particularly luxurious wedding, consider booking the Ultimate Package, which includes wine during the meals, an upgraded buffet for dinner, and a sweet cart that will pass around during the reception.
Does the Britannia Adelphi Hotel have any special dining options?
Jenny’s Restaurant is the largest restaurant inside of the Britannia Adelphi Hotel and is known for its extensive breakfast buffet and diverse lunch and dinner menus, with its hours being from 7:00 am to 9:30 pm. Crompton’s Restaurant is also a popular choice among guests that is placed directly inside of the hotel, as it has traditional French cuisine and offers both Table D’Hote and A La Carte menus. You will find an elegant cocktail bar inside of Crompton’s that serves pre-dinner drinks and is open from 6:30 pm to 10:00 pm.
