Cons: The steps require effort, obviously, but it's a historic building that you wouldn't expect to have an elevator in. This is also clear in the booking.

Cons: Multiple staff members were rude or unhelpful. WiFi poor in room. Surprised by the bill for breakfast as this was not advertised anywhere. When trying to resolve the matter the team we’re extremely unhelpful. Disappointing and not typical Dutch hospitality that we are used to, particularly at this price point.

Pros: Location is great, and we loved staying in a converted army barracks. Parking is just a short walk away across the road (paid, the hotel will give you a discount voucher; €9.50 per day in Feb 2020). Huge, comfortable bed in a spacious room. We enjoyed a quiet night's sleep despite being slap bang in the historic city centre. Lovely breakfast.

Cons: Ridicoulus 35€ charge because we arrived later than expected (23:00). Our disbelieve was met with total ignorance at every entounter with hotel personnel. You shouldnt book this place if you are used to a normal hotel service level. Also we didnt have night stands next to our bed or hangers to hang cloths in the room. Felt a bit unprofessional. Overall good quality interior and location.

Pros: We were very excited for our stay in Leiden. The bed was comfortable and the location was convenient for public transport and to get to the grocery store. The restaurant at the property served good food.
Cons: We were disappointed by the cleanliness and smell of the room that we were given on arrival. When we complained, the staff were quick to explain reasons why there was a bad smell in the room which left us wondering why we were given that room in the first place. The room that we were relocated to was better but we already had a bad taste in our mouths.

Cons: Breakfast option (coronavirus times) was highway robbery. 17 euros for the normal 10 euro lunchbox option: a pistolet piece of bread, a thin slice of ham and cheese (among other options), mini-croissant, orange juice, 1 apple and coffee, probably no more than 5-6 euros at the supermarket. None of this requires actual preparation by a cook, it's just a matter of putting everything on a cabaret. Also, my computer never could connect to the Wifi. I had to use my phone as hotspot.

Cons: The entire hotel seems to be designed for late 1990 american industrial hotels. Everything is big and too much. the bed sheets had holes in them, the shower was not clean, the glasses where broken and the entire place looks like a public bus. Plus the staff at the restaurant where clearly under trained... For the price you pay this is not acceptable.

Cons: The food from the menu is pricey and not very good. Also breakfast is quite expensive but actually very good (we only went once). Since the hotel is in the middle of nowhere with lot's of parking space this should be included in the price.

Cons: Since it’s an old building Convert it to a hotel the rooms are kind of funny shaped/located. Our room headache support pole right in front of the door And one right next to the bed. Also the bed The hotel should really do something about that and install a fitting headboard. The shower was nice however while showering the whole floor got wet/flooded. A half (flip-flop type) shower door or curtain would be appreciated . There was a glitch in the booking (either with booking. Com or hotel??) that indicated that there was only 1 person/ breakfast whereas I had booked for 2 with breakfast for day2 of stay. Day 1 we were not booked with breakfast. Somehow a breakfast was listed a breakfast for day 1, when we did NOT have breakfast at the hotel. (We ran out day 1 and grabbed a Dunkin donuts which is down the road. Reception staff kindly adjusted this.

Cons: This hotel is very worn down, and it looks like nothing has been changed or updated since about the 60s. The room looked old and tired, the bed was uncomfortable with pillows in which the cotton was completely clumped together, and the shower was awful. Some of the sockets weren’t working and the wardrobe was about to fall apart. I wasn’t expecting a luxury hotel but given the price it should at least be comfortable.

Pros: The room was very clean, comfortable and cosy. The staff were very friendly and helpful. My wife and I felt most welcome, and it was great to have the third bed to accommodate our daughter when she stayed with us for a couple of nights.

Pros: Quite central and anyhow calm. Clean. In our room kitchen with cooking facilities.
Cons: Very rigid management regarding non-refundable reservation. More a bed and breakfast than a hotel. High cost for wifi or Internet use. Breakfast not of 4 star quality.

Cons: We thought it a bit mean spirited to charge for milk to be put into the tea if taken in the English Style, and for the milk to be charged at minibar high price. The room was small but the facilities were good.

Cons: The price was fairly high for what you get and for a 4 star hotel it was not as comfortable as some others. The hotel is not in the center, but on the other side of the station from the city center.
